Both were excellent! A wonderful, informative guide, great wine and food, comfortable transportation, and beautiful countryside all combined to make days we will not forget. I would strongly recommend an all day tour---the lunches were delicious and we just did not feel "done" after half a day. I recommend this tour to everyone who goes to Montpellier.

However, this tour was a real delight. From the prompt responsiveness of Edward, to the timely pick up near my hotel, the entire trip was one entire seamless experience. Edward met me downtown at the tourist office, we went to pick up another couple, and from there we were off to Pic Saint Loup! Our first stop was the Zumbaum Tomasi winery. From the moment that we got to the car, you could tell that Edward was passionate about wines. He explained to us how the different wines were made, and introduced us to the wineries managers. We tasted a rose and two reds. After that we drove off to the second winery, which was called the Mas Gourdou winery where we tasted a white wine, a rose wine, red wine, and a dessert wine. We got to meet the owner of the Vineyard. The beautiful thing about both of these Vineyards is that they're both organic and estate wines. The grapes are grown, harvested, and bottled at each one of the estates. these bottles of wine pretty special and not your every day supermarket wine. We capped off the evening with a wonderful dinner cooked by Edward's mom. Our first course was a delicious and expertly done phyllo dough stuffed with a local goat cheese and an olive topping odd. Our main course was then a pork tagine followed by Apple pie and a chocolate cake. Oh! Did I mention the bottle of wine that came with the meal? The meal far exceeded our expectations!! We were so stuffed at the end. Edward drop us off at the end of the evening. If I were to ever come back to France I would definitely do the tour again.

The owner of this shop was super friendly - he speaks both French and English - and the shop was full with all kinds of yummy goods- cheeses, wines, scotches, rums, saucisses.. etc We gave our email address for the future events and menus and left. We received a email about this week wine tasting, deals and menu on Monday and decided to try it today, Saturday lunch. Everything we had - which was all for this week :) - was excellent! You can consume a bottle or bottles of wine same price as you take it to go which I found extremely good deal, considering that usuall places in Montpellier, they charge double for drinking in their bars, restaurants or cafes. The food was comfy home style food; very nice portion - the terrine and cheese plates, you can eat as much as you want! That was insane! So good that we wanted eat forever :) - extremely good value for the money you pay. The location is out of the tourist area - it's like 2 block from the famous le Jardin de sens restaurant. - but because of that we had very nice leisurely lunch with a nice bottle of wine - the owner, Fabien recommended Carcassone wine, about 11 euro? - we enjoyed a lot! If you happen to be in Montpellier, sick of all the tourist area like Comédie, Don't hesitate to try this little gem! You won't regret! We will definitely go back next week and more!

Over the last 2 years we have made more discoveries in 4 visits to this store than in the remaining 100 weeks in the UK. The focus is on the Languedoc as you would expect given the shop's location. However, unusual bottles are on offer from around France with the Loire being another area which is well represented. There is also an interesting selection of whisky and rum if that is your thing. Either way, a visit here is very worthwhile - put yourself in the hands of the owners and you will not go wrong!

He was beloved his silk business would be eventually lose out to Chinese growers so he bought a vineyard. Apparently he did quiet well and gave each of his two daughters their own vineyards on their wedding day. Chateau de Fourques has been handed from mother to daughter for five generations. And today their biggest customer is none other than China. Great story. Tasty wine.

The appartment we stayed in at Les jardins de la Source was the perfect accomodation. It is a one bedroom with a large living room (with a sofa-bed), fully equiped kitchen, bathroom, and walk-in closet. It was roomy and comfortable for two adults and two kids. The breakfast was really good with fresh fruits galore, bread and croissants delivered straight from the local bakery, jam and honey from local producers, yogourts... Miguel, the owner, is very friendly and really did go out of his way to make our stay memorable. He provided a pack n play for our baby, Disney favorites for our elder to watch, and he was very accommodating to fit in a couple of wonderful hammam and treatment sessions in our tight schedule. We had a lovely relaxing time and we will make sure to stay there again on our next trip.
