We went there for dinner. The restaurant offers a very pleasant atmosphere with a small pond and well thought decorations. They serve spicy chicken bites and some roll on the house while you wait for your orders and they refill these as soon as you finish them. We had edamame, shrim pad thai, spicy beef with peanuts, rainbow roll and plain rice. Everything was delicious. The restaurant was very crowded and although the servers were tending to a lot of tables they did quite a good job in terms of speed and the attention they gave every single table. The price was very reasonable considering the quality of the food, service and ambiance. Make sure you make a reservation in advance but don't be afraid to walk-in if you are told that they are fully booked. We got our table thanks to a last minute cancellation. All in all Quick China is now a household name in Ankara and it is an absolute must try!

And let's be honest, decor is never a strong suit of Chinese and Korean places, based on my experiences in NYC. I guess people are so used to trading polished decor with Quick China style mediocre Turkish food covered in soy sauce that they can no longer appreciate good food. Also, service was quick and friendly. I had the hot and sour soup, shrimp dumplings, and a beef dish with pepper, all were really tasty. My only complaint is in the beef dish they substituted the usual dried hot red peppers with fresh red peppers, my dish had just a few tiny pieces of the yummy dried pepper. :( The dish still tasted good though! Three months ago, I tried it for the first time and fell in love with the food and hospitality. Afghan Sofrasi is owned by a middle aged Uzbek couple from Afghanistan who speak English, Turkish, Uzbek, and possible other languages. The menu includes Uzbek, Afghani, and Turkish items. I've tried the chicken kebab and the mixed plate several times! I wanted to sample the menu so I thought the mixed plate was the best thing to try. It's a great deal at 70 TL (as of pre-Bayram 2023 - prices most likely increased). It included pilov, dumplings, eggplant topped with yogurt, and kofte. All dishes come with a mezze and bread. I've also had two of the desserts, both a sort of rice pudding. They're both very lovely and go so well with çay! I was eating here once a week when I left woken at 5pm, but now that I'm working later nights I haven't been back in a month or so. Be sure to arrive before 6pm or else they will run out of food! They close once they run out of food. Overall, I highly recommend a try. The owners are so kind, the food is very tasty and affordable, the prices are good, and the atmosphere is very relaxed. Why not try some central Asian food while in Ankara?
