Genuinely one of the best teriyaki meals I've had in the local area! Their portion sizes are very generous and taste amazing, with old school prices like it's 2015. The kimchi is also fresh, perfectly seasoned, and only $1.50 for a medium sized cup. I can also say their chili sauce that they send home is great too, most places keep it simple with sriracha, but their chili has the perfect heat and sweetness! I haven't been to Mashita's in a decade. I went back today going for the great teriyaki I remember, but I just had a horrible experience and won't be back. The old man at the counter was unnecessarily rude and passive aggressive to me for not taking a bottle of teriyaki sauce to my table as well as for bussing my plates when I was clearly doing it correctly. The other customers were looking at him like he was out of line. As for the food, they give you a good portion for the money but the quality was nothing special, unlike what I remember from a decade ago. What's your problem, man? The moment you order, sit down, possibly use the bathroom and then come back to your seat, you get your food. I was pleasantly surprised at the 2 fast 2 furious ways this organization honored your order and it came to you quickly. Second, the savory goodness of the chicken terriyaki with the combination of the rice/veggies/sauce was so good. It was a great mix and proportion of each. No one likes a meal where there's too much rice or too much veggies. It was thoroughly a good proportion. Last, the sweetness of this place is that it is affordable. There was a queue out the door when we pulled up. That's a good sign, right? I don't think I've ever seen a long line for a teriyaki place. By the time we parked and walked up, the line was inside the door. Most people got their food within 5 or so minutes of ordering. I think ours took 10-15. They said it was the noodles. As we were waiting, a couple said it was the best teriyaki in the Portland area, and they can't find anywhere near as good. My husband ordered the spicy chicken yakisoba. I ordered the spicy pork with rice. We also ordered pot stickers. When our meal came, they accidentally gave us egg rolls. I think they realized it and came out to find out us as my husband was taking it up to the counter. They quickly replaced the egg rolls. The pot stickers were nice and crispy, but they weren't our favorite flavor. Nothing wrong with them though. The noodles were good too. We liked the flavor of the chicken and pork, but neither were even slightly spicy. I know they have to cook it so most people like it, but man, there was zero spice. I like it really, really spicy. Like burn your face off spicy. So maybe others think it has a kick. Overall, it was pretty good. And the owners were extremely nice too. read more

Excellent meal. Their dishes are all relatively cheap and all quality bites. I got the spicy pork teriyaki dish and everything tasted like a home cooked meal. The spicy pork had an amazing crispy sear on it and smoky like it came straight off a bbq. The meat was all sauces well with a mildly spicy teriyaki flavor. There is a copious amount of rice that came along with the hearty serving of pork. Along with that was some steamed (I think so at least) vegetables that helped balance each bite. The two owners/workers are a nice old couple and were so friendly. They emitted a grandparents type feeling which was amazing since it was so much later in the day where other places I've been have employees that just seem to dread the day. We swung by this place on our way north recently. It turned out to be pretty ok. The teriyaki sauce was too thin. The meat was good but there wasn't much of it. The beef is traditional korean bulgogi. If that is what you want, then it is very good. The place is large and has lots of seating. I did not find easy parking. read more

The wife was extremely rude to me for some reason and so I will not be going back. I walked in with a smile on my face and said good morning to her when I came in. She had this scowl look and rudely responded "what do you want?!". I politely told her what I wanted to get, HANDED her my credit card, and she threw it back at me on the counter. However, some other customers came in after me and she was completely friendly and jovial with them. When I left I politely thanked her and wisher her a good day, and she didn't respond and continued to scowl at me.
