But I…read moreknow I'm not alone in saying this is a good church, a welcoming family, a vibrant, worshipping community, and a place where it is easy to belong. There are actually four worship centres in the parish -- at St Peter's itself and on Johnson Fold, in Barrow Bridge and in Smithills -- and there are three services on Sundays at St Peter's (a family-friendly service at 9:30, a quieter service at 11:00 and a longer service at 6:30). If think that's a lot, you'd be right: this is one of the biggest Anglican churches (if not the biggest) in Manchester, and organising everything that happens is a major task! There's a big, smart Parish Centre just down the road from St Peter's -- a very useful resource for the local community -- and as you might expect, there's a lot going on both during the day and in the evenings. In particular there's a good deal of Youth Work -- indeed, the church has just appointed a Youth Minister to oversee what's going on. Worship at the church itself is fairly low with modern songs very much the order of the day at most services; and the theology is unashamedly evangelical. All in all, I'm very happy to be involved here; if you're looking for a busy, family church you could do a lot worse than see whether St Peter's might be what you're looking for.

Very centrally located, it's almost certainly the biggest church in Bolton -- I would imagine it can seat around 1,000 -- not that we had that many to our wedding! But the building is far more than just a church: there's a cafe there, no end of meeting rooms, even a theatre in the bowels of the place. And by the same token, the church is far more than just the building: the congregation is a very active one, making a real impact in the middle of the town. All in all, an interesting building, and a thriving church.

St Peter's has been her local church since living in the area and I've attended Sunday services here - I've always been made to feel welcome by the local congregation. The church building is postcard perfect for what you imagine a pretty English parish church would look llke. The Lord was smiling on Lesley on Saturday - the rain cleared up and the sun came out just as the service ended and it was time for photos. The inside is lovely too with exposed wooden beams. The wedding service was a joyful occasion shared with friends and family. The cupcake reception immediately after the service was a novel idea and helped to keep the guests entertained, fed and watered as the photos were taking place. The electric keyboard was of good quality. I was lucky to be asked to provide some piano music when the when register was signed. The regular members of the church made us guests feel most welcome. It feels like an active local church. Congratulations to Lesley and Andrew!

This is a huge, majestic church just on the edge of Bolton's town centre. It's a fantastic contrast to the tackiness of the town centre just a few metres away. The church is surrounded by a pleasant graveyard and grassy area. Inside, the church is fantastic. The roofing is all wooden, with exposed beams. It's bursting with character and actually better than Manchester Cathedral in my opinion. Great church. So big that I kept having to go back and back and back to take a picture of it.

The first thing to say is that it's a beautiful building. It's bright, airy and quite modern -- and big too, with seating for around 500 I would say. Both times I've been there I've been struck by what an inspiring place it is to worship. We've always received a very warm welcome when we've been there too. The people who have greeted us have been friendly and hospitable. Granted, that's unsurprising on a day when the church hosting hundreds of church-goers from the local area, but you can't learn to be hospitable overnight! I am sure that if we went to a normal Sunday service we would be welcomed just as warmly. All in all, then, a beautiful and welcoming church: highly recommended.

However, even after numerous follow-ups, I have not received my refund. Their communication has been poor, and they have repeatedly missed deadlines.
