She wanted a massage so we checked out Joe. My wife has gotten massages from Tokyo to Thailand to NYC to Rome and this was one of the if not the best massage she has ever had. Not only did Joe relieve her muscle pain but he also realized that a past surgery was impeding her mobility in her neck and she found instant release. Joe's manner was not only informative but also comforting. We wish we lived closer to Woodstock as Joe would become a constant in our lives. Even if you go to Woodstock just for the weekend see Joe the guru. It's worth it. Thank you Joe.

I see Rick, as does my wife, though I've heard Troy is excellent, too. (It was the luck of the draw for me, but I can say that Rick is a truly gifted bodyworker--and I speak as someone who's had a wide range of massage, cranial-sacral, Hellerwork, and other types of bodywork.) This is therapeutic bodywork, the kind that helps to deal with chronic physical issues. Rick has really helped me with the chronic tension in my shoulders, as he has helped my wife deal with a nagging back problem; it's really improved since she's been under his care. A caveat: if you're looking for nice, light massage, look elsewhere. What should you expect? Informed, careful, attention to what you need physically. Are your shoulders bothering you? They'll be worked on, but so will other muscles on your back, chest, and arms that are connected to your shoulders and may, in fact, be the real problem. I've had Rick work on releasing tension in my leg, to realize that my problem knee was much less bothersome. In short, the best you'll find anywhere. We're lucky to have Touch Chi in the Upper Valley.

TouchChi came up on a Google search of the area and came highly recommended from the local service proprietors. I had hoped to be able to slide in an appointment at the last minute but found that TouchChi's service and reputation is pretty phenomenal which means they are booked out quite some time in advance. I was finally able to get some time in and had a great 60-minute session with one of the two owners. The space is in a renovated freight building and is clean, minimal, and linear. Troy greeted me as I came in, got me oriented to the space and we were able to get the massage started right away. I found him personable, extremely knowledgeable, and efficient. He made conversation when prompted but was not overwhelming or dominating when silence seemed to be more appropriate. He explained the kind of work he was doing and what he was finding as he progressed through the massage. I was interested in deep tissue work and he accommodated that along with some great forced stretches which worked together very well. I was completely satisfied with my massage session and all the pieces that went into it, including the discounted rate for first-time clients. I'm looking forward to scheduling my next appointment during the rest of my stay in the area. Highly recommended.

If a customer requested a third coat for what I was paying I should have gotten 6 coats with no questions!!! At this point. I was furious !! I tried not to show it. When it was time for a pedicure I refused it. She tried to convince me. After my husband got a Mani and pedicure, He was not happy with it either. Remember she says she does not recommend cutting cuticles, but I saw her trim feet cuticles. Well, I was raised to be nice and respectful and I was. I will never go there again.
