My experience here has been extremely disappointing by staff and management. I went for a massage and actually signed up for the membership while I was there for my first appointment. My first massage therapist was a little more "handsy" than I would appreciate, but chalked it to his style and picked another massage therapist the second time I went. The second time was better than the first time. I scheduled a third appointment with the same therapist I saw the second time, and upgraded to a 90 minute massage. During the entire 90 minutes, after I flipped onto my back the front of my body wasn't massaged in any way. I asked management why a full body, 90 minute massage didn't include the front and I did not get a good answer. I was asked if I'd like to book my next appointment, to which I said no (as always so I can book when I'm ready). I noticed in the app a few weeks later that an appointment had been booked on my behalf. Additionally, I received a request to leave a review and I did and asked to be contacted by management, which I was never contacted. Today, I called to cancel the appointment and told Jess that I did not make the appointment and that I did not appreciate her staff booking it on my behalf after I said no. She was able to see when the appointment was booked, which was the time of my last appointment. I told her again, I stated no when asked and she stated back in return that she did not believe me. I asked her why I would book, when I left a negative review and asked to be contacted by management, which also never happened. She stated that she emailed me, and when I told her that I never received an email she said I was lying rather than verifying my email address. At the end of the call, she stated she was emailing my a cancellation form for my membership, which I also have yet to receive. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Had management addressed my concerns professionally and directly, I would likely continue business at another location instead, however I will now never use Massage Envy again. For something that should be a relaxing experience, it's been rather stressful and uncomfortable each time. read more

I've been a member for a while now. I think I've tried every therapist in the building. Each time has been different but for the past two months I've received treatment from Andre. He has been amazing!!! He is very good at what he does and never disappoints. He is very consistent and looks out for the client needs. Highly recommend this place. Overall, everyone had been nice! I was supposed to have an appt today at 2pm; I accidentally drove to the wrong location (20 min away). I called the front desk to explain what happened and she told me they just wouldn't be able to do the add-on foot treatment and I said ok that's fine. I finally get to the correct ME and they take me back and tell me to undress to my comfort level etc etc and the massage therapist comes in to tell me I only have 20 min left. Clearly, I misunderstood. So, I told her I would rather just re-schedule. Also, not thinking I have to pay for this missed appt (because no one told me that amongst all of this "communication".) Long story short, I try to explain my mistake and no mercy was given and the girl behind the desk tells me I have to pay anyway. So, I basically wasted a whole gift card for no massage. There needs to be some sort of management or professionalism added here. And extra clear communication. I will not be back to this location or possibly to any massage envy ever again. Super disappointed. I am a mom of two littles and it is extremely difficult already to make time for something like this. It would've been nice to at least get some sort of reconciliation. read more

Had a late evening appointment after an extremely stressful day. When I went in, it took forever for the lady to check me in. I finally checked myself in. I had a wonderful massage from MJ and was feeling so much better. Then, I had to wait for over 20 minutes, because the lady behind the counter was so incompetent that she could not figure out how to ring me up,apply a gift card, or charge my credit card properly! She also asked me the same questions numerous times. The final straw was when she asked me for my name after staring at my account on the computer for those 20 minutes. I told her that all the good from the massage was negated by her inability to figure things out. It was unbelievable. My husband and I have been regulars for many years, but their poor service behind the counter and constant turnover have us looking for a new place! It's not worth the hassle! read more

If you are looking to give the gift of a massage don't get one here. I was given a pass as a birthday present by a friend. I needed to reschedule my appointment due to my family coming in to visit earlier than expected. The person I spoke to on the phone (rudely) informed me that I would have to pay for half of the session to reschedule even though I was in the 5 hour cancellation period. I honestly would have rescheduled if the customer service this individual showed me was somewhat decent. I was even planning on getting a membership, but now I will take my business elsewhere. read more

I had a massage last week with Shannon. I was sore from working out really hard and she used the perfect amount of pressure. She worked a lot of the soreness out of my muscles. This pertains solely to my experience with the Assistant Manager (AM) present on my most recent visit. My wife was notified 30 minutes prior to our appointment that we had an appointment. Upon telling the AM that we had not been notified the day prior she insisted that we had. I reiterated that neither my wife nor myself had received any reminder the day before. She continued to insist I was lying and even went so far as to tell me that I was out of luck because the system shows that I confirmed. I informed her that this was false. Minutes after ending that call they notified me that they were mistaken and that the appointment had been confirmed by an employee that had NOT EVEN WORKED THAT WEEEKEND at all, and the date it was confirmed for was TWO WEEKS PRIOR to the current date as they had rescheduled this appointment and never bothered to change it to unconfirmed or check with us. I was appalled at the way in which this representative of Massage Envy managed this situation. How she has reached the level of "assistant manager" with her apparent lack of conflict resolution skills is beyond me. The lack of professionalism is shocking given such a simple situation. With a mere "let me look into this for you" and 5 minutes research this could have been avoided and my experience and opinion saved. However, this employee decided to disrespect my wife and me and ruining our experience, prior to investigating the problem. Our massage therapists were fantastic, and that experience I give a 10/10. The experience with the front office staff up until this point has been mostly positive, that is until I had to run into this particular assistant manager who appears to be in desperate need of conflict resolution training as well as a basic customer service refresher course. I will be re-evaluating our memberships to this location in the interim. read more

I have experience with multiple massage envys in the past. All of the ones I've experienced have poor customer service when it comes to the receptionists at the front desk. This location has the best customer service out of any of the ones I've previously dealt with. However my massage was of poor quality. I walked out with more tension in my shoulders than I walked in with and the massage therapist could have been more careful with not exposing my behind when working on my lower back. I've been a Massage Envy member for a few years and this is a very clean and calming location. I have had a few different technicians to perform my services and all have been really friendly but always professional. My massages have always served to relax me and they encourage you to keep regular appts and stay hydrated. I guess that is part of membership though. The front desk staff also is always inviting and gets you checked in quickly. I've only had issues calling to try and schedule massages for 2 for the same time period. Some kind of way it ended up on different time slots and on different dates... big hassle but for 2 years worth of appts, that was the only mix up. I'll take that. read more

I was looking for a place to get a massage, but after reading all the reviews, it won't be here at ME. I know there were some positives, but way too many negatives about pressuring to become a member, poor customer service, etc. etc. When I get a massage, I want a good therapist, a relaxing time and no pressures. If your services are good, I'll be glad to join a member service if it will save me some coins. Make me want to come back, not join so the cat at the front desk gets a bonus. I have been a member of Massage Envy for about 9 years at the Doug Baker location. From the time I walk in the door I am greeted with a warm hello. Everyone always seems like they really enjoy their job. I have been to many places. But this one is the best. The therapist really listen to your needs and respond with a very relaxing massage. My therapist yesterday was "John". He was fabulous. He took the time to ask about my shoulder & neck issues and came up with a game plan. I will return to book again with him. My story starts with my car wreck that leads my body to tighten up every couple days. The only relief I get is when I come and get worked on. Between knots and soft tissue tenderness, the pain can really start to stack up. Coming to massage envy loosens up my tightest spots and reveals other areas that I did not know hurt so bad. This place was not that great. It's like the express oil shops for your car. It is okay if you need a quick relief massage, but if you are looking for a relaxing time this really isn't it. My massage therapist was sweet but not very skilled. The rooms where you receive your massages are that great either. The front desk tries to pressure you into joining so you can receive discounts, etc (didn't seem like a deal to me) and to be honest, not that friendly. If I need an ASAP massage, probably would go here, but other Spas in the area usually can fit you in. read more

Appointment hell. Maybe it's a good business if you can get beyond the lobby, but I wouldn't know. I first made an appointment Saturday for a 5pm massage. I was already in the parking lot when they called to tell me they had made a mistake and booked me with an aesthetician. They offered me a half off facial or massage for their mistake. Having no interest in a facial, and already a little disappointed and annoyed, I rebooked my massage for Monday at 3pm. Come Monday at 3pm, I walk into the lobby and find out that my appointment has been cancelled. No one called me. The people at the front desk don't know why it was cancelled. I'm done. If there was a way to give zero stars I would. When I called to make my initial appointment I specifically asked if gloves were an option and I was told yes. I arrive 15 minutes before my appointment as required and before going to the waiting area, I ask again, do you have gloves and the guy that checks me in says yes. 10 minutes after my scheduled appointment, the therapist comes out and says I don't have any gloves to fit me. He apologized and said there were no notes in the system about my request and included but we don't normally get this request. I have always gone to spas that offer this option due to many reasons and I would have never booked with Massage Envy if they could not honor my request. Let's not forget the place is near a Publix and other Pharmacies. I would have waited but wasn't even offered this as an option or to reschedule my appointment when I returned to the front desk. Massage Envy should be able to accommodate all of their clients. I'm not high maintenance but sometimes people do not always disclose health/skin conditions and I take care of a family member that is sensitive to many things which requires me to be very careful about what I touch and come in contact with.
