do not ever go to massage envy in midland. without my knowledge they have taken about $2000 from my acciunt since january 2019. i signed a form to put a hild on my account since i was getting eye surgery. i was told since it was due to medical issues i would have to come in person to starr the account again. i never did. they started it w/o telling me. i have not set foot in their spa since mar 2020 and yet no one ever told me i was still being charged. when i called today, they said it was only a temp. freeze, thaylt expired in 3 months. they refused to refund any of mt money. never once in all that time did they tell me they were still charging my account. i cannot see well enough to dive the 2 hrs to get there and am out thousands of dollars. they didn't cared, told me it was my fault and showed no sympathy read more

The few therapists I've been able to see have been wonderful, however they have cancelled my last 3 prenatal appointments. I understand that things happen but it's not fair to pay for a service I can't receive. The manager had a horrible attitude and refused to offer any solutions other than rescheduling me again- which isn't helpful considering it's been MONTHS since I could actually get a massage at this location. First of all, every massage that I've had here was great. The therapists are really good. I've had a facial that was also very good & I really enjoyed it. However, I can only give them 2 stars because it is SO HARD to book appointments!! Of course, they really push the memberships, and you do save money that way. The problem is that it's hard to schedule all of your monthly appointments!! I had a book of monthly coupons given to me when I joined, and when I tried to book my July appointment (in June) they couldn't get me in until August 1. So the July coupon can't be used! Then I had something to come up and needed to reschedule my August 1 appointment, and couldn't get in until September 30!!!!! I realize they are probably doing the best they can, and are short on therapists. Just beware if you sign up for a membership because you most likely won't get everything you are expecting!!! read more

Very disappointed The massage was fine , but I had been given a gift card for the massage for Christmas and when I went to use it the owner told me it had a 0 balance and did some research and said it had been used at a location in another state I have never been and used by a Lady I did not even know. so apparently the gift card had been hacked so I had to pay 70 dollars on top of the 100 dollars of the gift card that had been given to me. will not recommend or go back. read more

I had been looking forward to this for a while...and i had an appt booked two weeks ahead of time. I drove from Odessa and felt a little cheated...my appt was for 8am, they opened the doors at 8:03 which is fine...but by the time it started it was 8:11 and when I looked at the clock at the end it was 8:56. The massage was decent, I like a little deeper but it was okay. The music was the worst part, Chinese therapeutic music I assume? Sounded like a bad kung-fu movie showdown. For starters I've been getting massages from LMT's for quite a while now and I have been to various spas and this is a mediocre spa. My therapist at My Favorite Place (name of the spa in Big Spring) is no longer working and I needed to find a new therapist. This place is obviously understaffed. I signed up for the membership thinking it would be easier to get an appointment than being a walk in, WRONG! Every time I tried to use my monthly massage included with my plank was told they were booked until two months from now! Needless to say, I was a member for 2 months and only got one massage. The one massage I did get was ok. I need deep tissue and trigger points and this therapist simply couldn't apply the pressure I needed. She was nice and apologized but asked if I wanted to stop and reschedule with another therapist. I went through with it because something is better than nothing and I didn't want to wait 2 more months to get in. The staff was friendly and the place is well kept. Once in the rooms, the atmosphere is more like a clinic than a spa. Plain beige walls and a table and a lamp. The music playing is the generic spa music. I came in to cancel my plan. They just aren't able to schedule me as often as I would like. The sad thing was that when I requested to chancel they really didn't question me or attempt to retain my business. I called to schedule a couples massage with my fiancé before our wedding. I called a few days before and spoke with someone who said they didn't have any couples massages open currently, but that I could be put down for an appointment at 10 on Sunday, and my fiancée could be put on the waiting list. I was a little concerned because we wanted to be together, but if I didn't cancel before 24 hours, we would have to pay half price of the appointment ($25) but I went along anyways. I got up earlier than usual for a Sunday and got ready for my appointment, bummed that I hadn't gotten a call that my fiancée would be getting in as well. I just left, 5 minutes after my "appointment " because they didn't even have ME down for an appointment at 10. Although the representative was nice, I just got a "sorry, I don't know what happened?" This was my first time, and my last time to come to this Massage Envy. There should have been something done for the inconvenience. I signed my wife up for the monthly plan years ago when we lived in the Metroplex. $60 a month for an hour of massage. Great deal, right? We moved back to Midland and from 2012 through last fall, she was lucky to get in once every couple of months. Sometimes, even if she had an appointment, she would walk in and be told that they couldn't serve her. Then, a few months ago, they just dropped her from the program. No explanation. So, Had an appt set up with massage envy in Midland, and they cancelled on me last minute a few months ago. The only thing they offered was another appt to get set up at a MUCH later date. Frustrating, especially with my absolutely hectic schedule, but hey no biggie. I understand things happen. I proceeded with another appt to be set, and asked for nothing in return. No credit, no gift card, a free 30 min session, zilch. I was entirely too understanding I suppose. When I went back for my following appt, it was great! Had no issues and was happy to get it done, so I enrolled in a membership! (Silly me) I own that mistake, but advise everyone to reconsider if they are thinking about it. Any how, a couple of appts in to my membership, I get stuck working late and cannot make the appt! Crud, right. Well, I call the establishment and speak with a young lady that advises me that I will be charged 50% for not making my appt because the massage therapist didn't get "paid". Well, I guess I didn't miss out on any type of compensation the day that I took off work to make my appt, yet got cancelled on me, right? Sure. Well she advises me that the manager would be in contact with me. Then 2 days later, boom, I get a phone call from the manager, Brenda. I explained that I made a silly mistake signing the agreement, and asked her how to get out, so the same mistakes wouldn't be made. She said she would do no such thing, and that I'm stuck having to fulfill the agreement. Not only that, she was entirely rude and argumentative from the get! No getting out of this one! Well I explained to her that I felt it was a bit of a double standard and unfair considering I was cancelled on last minute at a prior date, but received nothing in return, nor did I requested anything in return for that matter. Yet, I'm here getting collected on, like some dead beat and being talked down to in a condescending manner for cancelling my appt? She then proceeded to say, "Well our massage therapists get sick, you want them working on you when they are sick?" Ok, no ma'am, not what I am saying, just simply saying that things HAPPEN, just like when I had to cancel my appt for working late. Then, get this! She called me a liar and said that I was the one whom originally cancelled the very first appt anyway, because that's what the notes read. Nope, THEY cancelled my appt, and maybe whatever notes were implemented into their system were designed to place fault on that of the client? I remember precisely what happened, and the phone call I received from their establishment explaining that they couldn't fulfill my appt time. Either way, I was treated like total garbage over this situation and I am stuck giving this unprofessional establishment my hard earned dollar. I got a gift certificate for christmas... They needed a credit card just to book the appointment. I told the front desk my card was lost. Even with a gift certificate they wont book you with out one..after having to run to the store to purchase a $3 prepaid card i had to load it with a couple dollars just to book the appointment!! When i arrive i had to fill out a 15 min paper saying what im there for and what i needed.. Cool... Then its time to go to the back....my certificate said 60 min massage but on the small print it says its 50 min hands on... So 5 min before the hands on you get "consultation" and the removal of your clothes to your comfort.. So for the first 5 min and the last 5 min to put ur clothes back on they charge you!! U pay for 60 min but only get 50 min. I told her i have little to no pain i just want a relaxing massage... Then when i left my back and shoulders hurt so bad nothing what i wanted... Today was my first time going to Massage Envy and I had a fantastic experience. Melissa who was a front desk clerk was very nice in explaining to me all the different services and helping me get prepared for the massage. She explained to me exactly what would take place and asked me if I had any questions afterwards. The massage therapist I saw was Shelia (who was recommended by another review) and she was great. She listened to all of my concerns as I explained to her my problem areas and my focus for the visit. I was hesitant because of the reviews but my visit went well and I would definitely recommend. Btw this was my first time so I got an awesome discount ($74.99) on my 1.5 hour session. You should at least try once. Even if only for an hour ($49.99). Thanks, Massage Envy! read more

Worst place to go! It is nearly impossible to get in for a massage, especially if you've paid for a membership. I paid for 6 months of service (one massage a month) and had not used all my massages and they would not let me use them once my membership was up. I had to talk to the manager numerous times to get everything straightened out and the clerks still won't book me to complete my massages. It's a hassle book every time. There is only one good massage therapist there, Michael. The others will karate chop your back near the end of the massage. It does not feel good. If I knew how horrible this place is I would have never gone there. It's been more of a headache than it' worth. I do not recommend this place to my worst enemy. read more

My husband was in the hospital dying from 3 different types of Leukemia. During that time I had to continuously turn him as he would get very uncomfortable. The nurses' aides would get very rude because they would have to turn him so much. I have suffered from shoulder pain since (11 years). My fiancé gave me a massage in January of this year. I went to Teas Road in Conroe, Texas. The therapist there was awesome. My fiancé gave me two massages again and this time he called the Lubbock office. That was very frustrating because they transferred my information there. I currently am in Midland and these ladies have been awesome. They got my gift cards transferred here and the therapists have been excellent. I know they are busy so I make my appointments 3 months at a time and feel so much better once I'm done. I have called this place multiple times to try and book an appointment. They immediately start out by telling you that they are booking WAY out to try and discourage you from booking. When I said "that's fine" the girl acts pissed and tells me there's no openings until December. It's October 21st. Let's be real, yall aren't that busy. I signed up for a 6 month agreement at this location, and might have went once or twice. When I moved back to my home state, I tried to go into a local Massage Envy and cancel. I was told that I would have to go into or call the original location I signed up at. I called in November and cancelled the service. I specifically asked if there was anything I needed to do or sign, and was told no. I wasn't charged the $60 for December so I assumed everything was taken care of. Low and behold as I was reviewing my credit card statement, a card a rarely use so I barely check it, there was over $360 in charges to it from Massage Envy. I found out it wasn't cancelled and I've had the membership for another 6 months. I get it, mistakes happen. I figured I would call in and get it sorted out. After 3 days of calling in I finally get the "Regional Manager" Shelby Charles... if thats what she wants to call herself. She comes up with the solution, "We'll just cancel your account now, and give you 6 weeks to use the massages." Thanks for digging deep Shelby. No responsibility was taken, no apology. When I asked why there was a missing payment in December, obviously proof I called in and canceled, and also the fact I hadn't used a massage in over 6 months, just another indicator that I had thought it was canceled, she didn't know? "Since there is no paperwork saying you canceled there isn't anything I can do"... again, thats on you and YOUR employees. No common sense with this management. I quickly realized why my account wasn't actually canceled after talking to this "Regional Manager". Terrible customer service, no common sense. I will never use Massage Envy again if this is the type of management they hire. I obviously asked for something in writing saying that my membership was cancelled and surprise, still no email. So tomorrow I will spend more time out of my day asking an employee to do what her "Regional Manager" should have already done. Sorry excuse for a company and the owners of this location should be embarrassed by how their management handles situation. Save your money, and your time.
