Massage Tang is not a high end aroma therapeutic massage "spa". It IS however a great place for a reasonably priced massage. Don't get me wrong, I do feel special when I lay down on the "couch", slip my feet in the warm water, have a mask put over my eyes and listen to the Asian inspired music. I have a couple of connective tissue disorders and this is a great place to have a weekly massage. I usually take advantage of the special. It's a 40minute for $40 massage that focuses on feet for 15, head and shoulders for 15 and back for 10. There are some therapists that have been there a while but I have my favorites. They should change the name of this massage place to elbows and forearms. There was nothing relaxing about this experience. If you're looking for a place to work out, muscle tightness that resembles a stone, or maybe some mental health scenarios. This might be a place for you. Overall, a pretty good experience. They always have a $40 one hour special (20 min head neck shoulder arm, 20 min foot and 20 min back). It's a fully clothed massage on the lounge chair. Surprisingly, it is a really good massage for not being in your typical massage settings. The only complaint is there is usually a communication barrier so it's hard to explain the pressure you prefer. Ok, I typically don't like massages and always steer clear of them, but my friend told me about this place to reset myself as we go into the New Year! $40 for a head-to-toe hour long massage was a steal! The guy went deep, a little painful but bearable - I probably had a lot of knots he had to work out! I also enjoyed soaking my feet in the hot water with lavender salt crystals. I feel so refreshed! This massage could have been the best I've ever had BUT... I've received dozens of massages all around the world at both fancy spas and holes in the wall. The massage itself was amazing...except...the lady kept answering the phone during the massage. Wha? The first time she answered was ok. Whatever. Then the second. And then a third?!? I was fairly agitated at this point which negates the whole point of a massage. She totally kept on trying to massage as she talked on the phone booking appointments...one of the calls was a few minutes and she answered all kinds of questions on pricing, options, etc. Please get a receptionist and don't do this to customers as I paid 65$ for an hour massage. As I was driving down Walnut, this NEW red massage sign caught my eye and I took a 2nd look. Seeing the 1/2 price tag, I knew that I had to explore. The spa is next to JJ's on Walnut, which could be a good thing or a bad thing depending on the number of people that decide to show up for a massage. We were greeted by a very welcoming staff with an inviting decor and decided on 60 minutes of a foot massage. This was a great Asian experience and if you haven't had someone work on your feet, it is both some pain and a lot of pleasure. My masseuse was AWESOME! Relaxing, comforting, and blissful! We were given a tour of the facilities and it is very clean, comfortable, and very Asian in decor. The massage beds in the front were awesome as they have a fireplace beneath each one that actually warm up the bed. Awesome! I hope that they continue with those 1/2 price offers! I have been getting 60 minute foot massages here for a couple of years now! The reflexology is the best and I highly recommend. It's very relaxing and feels amazing. The only drawback is that they truly need an English speaking receptionist. It is very disruptive to have them answer the phone while they work on you and the conversation goes on and on as the person calling can't understand them. read more

But one rainy night, after the kid's baseball game was cancelled, we found ourselves at a loss for something to do-- and Massage Tang was taking appointments! So we left the kiddos with their grandparents and booked 60 minutes of pure bliss with foot massages. This place is not like any massage place I've been-- it is massage-in-the-round-- in other words, massages in the open. There are probably about 20 massage beds and a few chairs scattered around a dimly lit room. You lay on the bed and they cover you with a blanket, plop an eye mask on your face and drop your feet into warm water to soak. They then dry your feet and proceed with the most thorough foot massage you've ever had! It was an amazing bargain and I can't wait to try them again! read more
