Valet parking services also friendly and very flexible. If you're looking for an ideal, centrally-located base for exploring historic Lecce, this is highly recommended.

That Lecce is a distinguished and very beautiful city needs no claim from me. The Patria Palace,…read moresmall grand hotel, old palazzo, with 1930's ocean liner decoration, is quite worthy of it. Comfortable, gracious, and...nice. We got back hungry and ridiculously late for lunch. The closed restaurant made us a fresh minestrone, the best I have ever eaten, and wonderful local cheese to follow. Not huge, but very comfortable rooms. Generous public spaces. In the absolute Center of Lecce's magnificent palaces, public and private, and even more resplendent churches. Lecce was, after all, the star of Sachaverel Sitwell's "Southern Baroque" (c. 1928). There is also a distinguished Medival ghetto, also very close. Stay here!
Acaya Golf Resort & SPA

Yes - this is where we escaped in July 2013 and we had a good time!…read more LOCATION This place is off Lecce (approx 10 km) and off the seaside (approx 3 km) nestled in hills with old olive trees. When we booked we were aware about it and hired - a MUST - a car right from the airport at Brindisi. There are plenty of parkings at the hotel campus. Double-Tree by Hilton is a golf resort - we don't play golf but hoped to find a deluxe and quiet location - which is the case, indeed. So many great points to tell: 1. A wide facility with direct access to golf greens. 2. Large rooms well equipped. 3. All with terraces at convenient size. 4. Pool #1: at a patio - with shade and protected from wind but, hardly service 5. Pool #2: larger and wider surrounded by meadows and the golf greens - a nice bar, friendly service for drinks, food and sun chairs, as well as umbrellas 6. Good cuisine at the Restaurant with a beautiful terrace overlooking the facility as well as landscape A few points to improve: a. Breakfast buffet and service: when you're still half a sleep you expect decent and fast service as well as no searching at the buffet until you find out that the things you look for are out. (Note: we've been there end of July not at ferragosto) b. As Hilton Honors member I got internet for free but, be aware that it isn't available all across the facility. c. Our room was upper floor (1st or 2nd as you want to see) and had a nice terrace towards East. Unfortunately within night the air-condition automatically has been switched off. At 5 in the morning on sunrise we woke up thanks to the heat at our room. d. For such facility and class I would expect services such as for towels at the pool sides. So, conclusion and key question: WOULD WE GO AGAIN? In principle YES but, the world is soooo big and there are so many other nice places... NOTE: For Italy the price is moderate but, this is Apulia and not Roma = price is somewhat high!

Lastly, I recommend to Include breakfast, lunch, and dinner it's worth it!

If I could score it worse I would! This place is awful! My first clue should have been when the…read moretaxi driver called the hotel "historic". I believe historic in Italian must mean something different. They take your ID and tell you to come get it in 15 minutes. Then, when you show up to get it, they ignore you for the tour groups checking in. You are forced to wait even though you have been traveling for 3 days and want nothing more than to go to sleep. Then your room air conditioner is not getting cold, and you call down to the front desk to let them know. They hang up on you. Then the repair tech comes up to "fix" the a/c. Their fix consists of telling you how refreshing the air is and you need to give it 15 minutes (see a pattern here?). I asked for more clothes hangers, got nothing after having been told the would bring some. The refrigerator is broke and won't get cold. The bed is hard as a rock. Worst hotel I have ever stayed in, and I have used a hotel in a war zone!! Stay away!!

She gave us awesome tips on what to see, where to go, and where to eat--she was one of the nicest people I met in Italy. The rooms were beautiful--super high ceilings, comfortable beds, reliable internet. I do wish they had a couple more lights in the rooms, but they were beautiful with louvred doors, the breeze came in and out, there were flowers in the windows, nice linens, a safe, a closet to hang things, the rooms were generously sized and mine had a desk. There's a beautiful roof deck where breakfast was served each morning--what a spread! There was cappucino, espresso, breads, jams, yogurts, fruit, italian pastry and cookies, cereal. Really delicious. I loved this Inn and had a wonderful time there. Highly recommended!

It is about a 10 minute easy walk from the center square, though this area does not have the historical charm of the center part of town. However, I really enjoyed my stay and think it is a great little inn! The rooms seemed to be brand new. The bed was comfortable, the room was spotless. I liked having a kitchenette, a microwave, fridge, a table to have some wine and cheese, well-functioning air conditioning, big clean bathroom. The person at the desk, who may be the owner, was charming and nice. I don't speak Italian but we found a way to communicate just fine! There is a well-stocked cheap grocery store 2 blocks over, with great cheeses, meats, and wines. Plenty on-street parking. I did not like the tiny shower, but that seemed to be the norm in parts of Italy. I also wish they had clothes iron - I had to steam my clothes in the shower. But whatever - for the low price ($) it was a great option and I loved staying there. Would stay again if my travels brought me back to Nardo, no question.
