At least the concrete is pretty open and kind of smooth. Also, this skate park is usually pretty quiet during the daytime, which is the best time to go. It's located right on the edge of Massey Park, which is used for a number of different sports; soccer, rugby and cricket. If you don't live around this area, then the skate park here is not really worth the long drive. You will probably be a little disappointed that you used so much petrol.

I liked that there was lots of space in the car park for us to find a spot, and that this came free with the use of the centre. Also opposite the entrance is a child care should you need some help whilst using the pools. On this day however I was there for the boy, so I was happy not to use this pay service. The fee to use the pools for a mother and child is only a few dollars, and the staff were happy to give me the rundown of the pools (a pool for the little kids, and one for swimming laps) and also the location of the changing rooms, etc. I do prefer the little kid's pool at Birkenhead a little bit more as it seems a lot bigger with more space for all the little swimmers to enjoy. There is even a hot pool spa outside in the sun which I thought would be perfect next visit.

As a second time visitor and this time taking it in my stride to venture over on my own with the kiddies; I was happily entertained by the kids aged two to eleven( a fantastic note to self that there is something for all ages here). The under four's even have there own zone to enjoy. My first visit here probably was a year ago, and I was attending with children for a five year olds birthday. There are special tables you can hire out for a birthday party, this particular party was catered for by the family in charge, and the kids had a ball! After an hour or so of jumping on inflated castles and running through courses with slides and tunnels the kids gathered for a sit down lunch before running back to enjoy Inflatable world once they had got a bit of food. Not only is this place fantastic for parties but during the first week of school holidays i had three under twelve year olds, and this was my turn to for a bit of fun! The weather may not be so hot outdoors, but at Inflatable its fun and feels sunny! Even in winter you can keep the chills away by sitting under heaters on the chairs provided. A lifesaver for parents and caregivers the kids love it, and you end the visit with very tired ad thrilled kids, who always want to return. The car park is onsite, however gotta be lucky when its busy as they do fill up quick.

There was usually at least one other group but that's ok, we were bonded in the knowledge of our tresspass. Nowadays you'd be lucky to ever find this place on the quiet side but I love that it's cold - usually the coldest public pool you can find when Auckland's heat kicks in. There's a nice high diving board for bombs, frolicking space and lanes. There's a spa as well if you come in the chillier months and no doubt they heat the pool a bit too. You can find yourself a shady spot on the grass, kick back and let the kids run wild. There's even a playground. Like I said, it does get crazy busy and the parking can be a drama but this place just feels like Summer holidays.

This is a tidy tennis club with a great bunch of women on the interclub circuit, that's how I got to know them. They have six courts which provide a good state of play, though not as new as our club so it seemed the balls lost their bounce a little. That's where the fundraising meter comes in because once they reach top dollar the courts will be resealed, yay for Sunnyhills. The club rooms are tidy on the outside and tidier on the inside, super clean and spacious open plan design with plenty of seating by way of tables and chairs and a comfey couch corner.

The location of the Marina at the top of the low speed zone in the harbour provides a quick getaway to all your favourite fishing spots and beaches. Orakei Marina offers full vessel services, perfect for the lazy boatie. We took off one Friday afternoon, avoiding the chaos of the inner harbour, returning with a chilly bin full to the brim of snapper, at Spot 'X' of course.

There is rolling grass, a playground, and even a tree swing to discover, which is popular with the kids.
