I have been collecting watches for a couple of years now and recently have been adding some vintage watches to my collection. I didn't know of any stores in the area that serviced luxury watches and was lucky enough to find this store on google. Customer Service: The lady at the front who answers the phone and lets you in is a delight to talk with, the watch repairmen (sorry if that term is incorrect) are very knowledgeable and courteous enough to stop their work and come answer questions that the aforementioned lady can't (she does know quite a bit though) and even make sure that you are happy with their work before you leave. Quality of Work: I dropped off my Tag Heuer to see if anything could be done about the deteriorating luminous material in the hands and hour markers. While I don't believe the shop is certified to do Tag repairs (I saw rolex and omega certificates inside) they got back to me a day later with estimates. While I didn't like the price of having the watch sent off to Tag for replacement parts and repair I opted to have them re-lume the hands of the watch for a cheaper price. When I picked up my watch I saw that they not only made the hands look new, but they also touched up the hour markers and polished the case, crown, and band making it look brand new. I will definitely be returning here with watches in the future and recommend them highly to my friends. read more

I wanted two watches repaired, not to pay their storefront rental for the next 6 months. They're probably adequate to change a battery, strap or something simple like that but don't seem interested in doing any real, old-time watch repairs. read more

Very disappointed in the service I received here. I took an 80s era Seiko chronograph, which had recently been left to me by my father, in for a service and battery change. It's not a particularly valuable watch, but I wanted it running for sentimental reasons. I specifically explained to the gentleman at the counter that it had been left to me by my dad. Not long after I left the watch with them they contacted me to let me know that they had managed to break one of the chronograph hands. The watch stayed with them for weeks while they fabricated another hand. They finally finished their work on the watch and charged me a couple hundred dollars for the work they did. After only running it a few times the chronograph function stopped working correctly and the hands do not align correctly when it's reset. There are several certificates, which appear to be quite old, hanging on the wall by the counter indicating that the watchmaker is certified by Rolex, Omega, and the Richemont group, if memory serves; however I'm not sure that the person doing the work is actually the watchmaker named on those certificates. I essentially paid them a couple hundred dollars to break my watch and service it incorrectly. Strongly recommend you look elsewhere if you need a watch serviced or repaired in Tampa. read more

I suppose that one can always find someone else who repairs and restores watches, but Masterpiece Watch Restoration is the top of the line and absolutely as good as it gets. The proprietor and senior watchmaker worked on my rare Rolex Submariner that had not seen the garish light of day for many years. The watch was fundamentally sound but needed attention. Now it is in splendid shape and was restored with all Rolex parts. It looks like a new (old) sixty-year-old watch. Moreover, this service did nothing to the watch that was unnecessary or that could have diminish its value, which is why the perfect dial, hands, crown, bezel and insert are all as they were in 1958 and just out of the box. read more

I had an excellent experience with Masterpiece Watch Restoration. I have a 15 year old manual wind Swiss watch - not a big name and not particularly valuable. I had not worn it in several years and when I tried to wind it, the stem would not turn. The stem would also not pull out - the mechanism was frozen. I left it with Masterpiece for a few days and they were able to free the stem without opening the watch and found the mechanism could be wound and worked fine. They charged me a very nominal amount for this service. I think Masterpiece is very competent and honest and highly recommend them. read more

I was extremely disappointed in the professionalism of the people at Masterpiece Watch Restoration. I brought in an Omega watch and asked them to replace the watch band. One of the employees negligently tried to remove the old watch band, and in the process, tore one of the lugs holding the watch band in place. After much dialogue the owner refused to acknowledge any responsibility--a sure sign that other people should AVOID using this business. I have dealt with many jewelers in my lifetime, and in my experience, this is by far the WORST customer service and professionalism I have encountered. Future customers BEWARE. read more

Brought my Omega Constellation in for service. The service was very prompt and they did not try to sell me what I didn't need. Excellent communication - text and phone to update me on status etc. Nice folks too. I brought them 3 more watches I had in the dresser drawer . They got them all running and didn't charge an arm and leg. Will use them again for sure. read more

I bought a watch online and, given the risk of counterfeits these days, brought it to Masterpiece for authentication. When I dropped my watch off, they were friendly and took care of me right away. I got a personal call the next day to give me an update on their work and they called me again when my watch was ready. As this was a new watch, they helped sized the bracelet and polished it too (it looks almost brand new now), and they didn't charge me for either of these services. Overall, it was a great experience. I felt really comfortable with their service and work, and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. read more

Sadly disappointed...I brought in a family heirloom for repair. I was told I would be charged $35 for an estimate, but it would be applied to the repair. When the shop called me with the estimate, I had to ask for it in writing and it did not include all the work that was needed. So a week later I went back to the shop to discuss it in person and explain that I wanted the price for all the work that was needed. The following week I was called again, with a verbal estimate of $785.00, and it still did not include all the work that was needed. (The cost was about $300 more than the amount of the ballpark estimate I was given.) I went back to the shop the following week after that and paid $35.00 to get my watch back. I asked if they would apply the $35 to the work at a later date and the shop owner said no, it was for the labor to put it back together. Well it had been put back together the week before they knew whether I was repairing the watch or not. My feeling was that they did not want the job in the first place and overpriced the repairs so they would not have to do the work to provide me with an accurate estimate. I'll continue to shop for someone to repair the watch, but I will never pay for an estimate again. I will not do business with this company in the future. read more
