Delicious vegetarian options. Friendly indoor or outdoor seating. Everything is pre made and cold, so you can buy and go to take home or you can have them warm it up and eat there. So many tasty options. Loaded with flavor and very satisfying. Unique drink blends, and amazing sweets/dessert options. Convenience, options, and quality....mmmmmm!

We came here on a cold Friday afternoon and were pleasantly surprised at the number of vegan options in place. We went for the Lebanese and Indian bowls and while both of them were delicious, it's worth noting that almost all of their meals are pre-cooked and frozen unlike other places which cook them for you. I couldn't speak more highly of the staff though. They were friendly, courteous and kind enough to warm up our food and also set up seating for us outdoors while checking with us multiple times. In addition to the food, we also ordered the mango lassi and strawberry lassi and were also gifted with a book that gave us wonderful insights into the organic food scene within New Mexico.

Mexican Scrambled Tofu Burrito and Hash Brown Burrito

It's early. I pre-ordered delivery. It's been a rough week, can't sleep, and don't want to cook. Loss does that to a person. I wanted something vegan and the boyfriend wanted something vegetarian, we both wanted healthy food. I've had my eye on Meta G for some time now. One hash-brown burrito with cheese and mild green chile, pipping hot, nicely rolled, with a clear nutritional menu taped to the packaging. The bag it came in recyclable. Another Mexican tofu scramble burrito with jalapeños. Also finely rolled. Warm. Perfect label. Both were under $9. Delivery was $1.00. With tip we paid $21 and some change. But again, now is the time of big tipping. The burritos were not excessively big like we are use to in New Mexico, especially when we are paying $8 or so a pop. Also, it isn't very user friendly to sub green chile instead of jalapeños. For those reasons this gets a 8/10. Delivery was WAY faster than expected though. Wasn't supposed to be here till 10:30am but showed up at 10:10: CHOICE. Definitely worth trying their whole menu. Super vegan and vegetarian friendly. Fast. Fresh. Food.

My lunch today. Asian vegan salad.

I usually get my MAta G fix at the Triangle in Cedar Crest. Located inside the grocery store, it's convenient and hey, for me, it's a life saver. I grab my Asian salad or tofu sandwich on rye (yummy yummy ) and off I go. Their vegan options are not only healthy and calorie-thoughtful but very well balanced. Did I mention delicious? Yes, everything vegan at MAta G is delicious. Last but fir sure not least, cookies. Vegan cookies that are gooey, soft, moist and decadent ....it should be illegal. It's my weekly treat to get a cookie. I still have to go to their ABQ location. My only fear is that I might not leave. Ever.

plenty of outside seating. free parking across the street.

We had an excellent meal here. Sat outside, enjoyed the weather. Food is healthy and delicious. And the staff is really cool. It's my favorite place for lunch. Highly recommend!

I was impressed with the wide array of vegan "proteins" including tofu (grilled or fried), soy curls, homemade seitan, calabacitas, and avocado. I got the enchilada plate (because I can NEVER resist enchiladas) Christmas style. It comes with 1-2 proteins and I added a third so I could try the grilled tofu, the grilled soy curls, and the seitan. It was hard to tell what was what with so many things in there - probably should have gotten an extra side of one of the proteins instead. Nevertheless everything was incredible. I peruse the menu, another customer drops their shake. Gonna be longer. That's fine, go help them. "No, I can take your order REALLY FAST." Well, I was looking at the menu, but cool to be rushed. I remember when the young lady that used to work there was at the counter. 6-8 people in line, greeted with a smile and Hi! Welcome in! There was a longer wait, but it was ok, because the service was good, and so was the food. Today? I'll never return. I spent over $15.00 including a credit card surcharge (a business owner that wants to take credit cards but can't be bothered to be a business owner and pay their bills.) I left a $5 cash tip - I figured I'd the business owner can't pay the 3% on a bad merchant account, they most likely aren't paying the staff livable wages... I sat down and put my gear down, and waited... for about 15 minutes, before this garbage salad that was falsely advertised as having toppings and 3 sliced chick'n strips. The entire salad didn't fill the bowl.? On the bottom were less than a teaspoon of diced tomatoes. In the entire salad there was ONE "fried onion." The lettuce was chopped like slop, there was barely enough chick'n to call it 1.5 slices. Absolute trash. For 15$ I ate my salad, listening as Morticia Addams' understudy pleasantly said good bye, have a nice day, et cetera to the customers who were leaving. I got up, threw my trash, walked out. Silence: The whole time I was in there, a cheap speaker was streaming some crappy 90s "radio friendly hip hop." When my salad was brought to me, even after explaining it's very hard to eat, or carry , a salad on a motorcycle, it arrived in a to-go/carry out, lid is RIGHT THERE,.Morticia helpfully pointed it out, a subtle hint that I wasn't a welcome guest. As I was gearing up to get on my motorcycle out comes our antagonist. Not to be polite or anything. To smoke or vape. I didn't stick around to smell which one she was doing in the doorway. I get it, lucky goose doesn't want my money. They've made it abundantly clear. That's fine. I'll go to Steelbender, where they have vegan options, and like that customers come on to give them money. I accidentally posted this review to the uptown location. I've never been, and will never be, to that location. This review was the knob hill location.

Crispy Brussels sprouts had great flavor but way too much cayenne pepper (which adds nothing but heat) my husband ate them but said he would prefer less heat. I had 2 bites and gave up. Baked brie was amazing I loved the granny Smith apples! My husband loved them too. We also got the hummus duo which has dates on it and I used a date in the brie that was fantastic! I'll ask for that next time! It was the bomb. Hummus duo was good the watermelon radish was beautiful on the plate but gave both hummus a bitter flavor. Shrimp and grits. We live in Alabama currently and this was our least favorite dish of the day. Shrimp were cooked well and so were the grits but there was just something else it needed. Parmesan cheese and some onions maybe. Greek salad delicious. The flash fried chick peas made it. We needed more dressing and the wait staff was prompt and sweet about it. Spicy Lime Ceasar was ok till he requested more dressing then it was amazing. I was afraid of ordering it but the dressing wasn't too spicy . White sangria I had was disappointing it was more of a 1995 wine spritzer than a wine infused with citrus which is the very essence of sangria. It was ok and had I ordered a wine spritzer I would say yummo but I ordered sangria. Pork Belly flat bread was the winner of the night the tomato jam made that dish. I would love more on it next time but we will definitely be ordering that dish again! Yes we had a lot of left over food! But I love sampling a menu and this menu has a lot to offer. We will be back to try 4 or five other things. I look forward to my return.

But the zucchini ribbons with the lemon basil aioli were so good! I would go back just to order that starter again. One disappointment is that I really wanted to order the Shishito Peppers. No longer on the menu. My meal was the Pastrami Reuben with fries. I switched out the Swiss cheese for cheddar. I liked the meal, and it was enough to bring half of the sandwich home for lunch the next day. The other two ordered the Crispy Pork Belly & Tomato Jam flat bread. One liked it, the other was just okay with it. Two of us ordered sangria. It was white, which came as a surprise to us. It was less sweet than we prefer. Another in our group ordered a mocktail and quite liked it. Got a second one and I don't believe they charged for the refill. Unfortunately, I didn't get the name of it. It might sound like I have too many issues to give a 4-star rating, but I stand by it. The amience was nice. The wait staff was pleasant. The menu was creative. I'll definitely go back.

It includes some items I'd never tried before such as atole (blue corn porridge) and Pueblo-style enchiladas as well as some things more familiar to me like their beans/greens bowl (Fiesta Bowl). I follow a whole foods/plant-based diet and was eager to try nearly every single item on the menu (except for a few deep-fried items), so I actually made 3(!!) trips here during my three-day stay in Albuquerque, and I still didn't even try everything I wanted to. My favorite item was the Feast Bowl, which comes with the bean of the day (e.g. chickpeas or pinto beans), sautéed kale, fresh avocado, and quinoa. It is a smallish portion (good for me because I wanted to try multiple things) and really tasty. A little on the salty side. I ordered this multiple times and would add it to any meal. My next most favorite item was the lentil and green chile soup, which was the "daily kyu-nah" (daily stew) all three days that we went. It was sooo hearty and comforting and delicious, with potato chunks and other veggies and amazing flavor. The next shoutout goes to the tamales, filled with black beans and veggies. Delicious enough for me to order repeatedly. I also loved the atole, a warm and lightly sweetened porridge made from blue corn. A bit reminiscent of cream of wheat. I had a hard time deciding between this and the blue corn waffles which also looked fantastic. I love that they serve breakfast all day. The green omega smoothie was tasty, and I appreciated that it came in a small or large size. The only dish I didn't particularly enjoy was the Pueblo-style enchiladas. It is a single enormous thick whole wheat wrap folded up with kale and zucchini inside. The wrap was infused with red chile powder, and it was extremely salty and rather dry, although the veggie filling was nice. Some of my friends liked this dish, but it wasn't for me. Overall, I loved this restaurant and could have eaten every meal of my trip there. Next time I come to Albuquerque, I'll probably try to stay within walking distance of Itality so it's even easier to go over and over. Genius. I had the tamale platter. I haven't had a tamale in ages, they are rarely a vegan option, so this was a real treat and they are delicious here. It's smothered it in green chile sauce and comes with a side of that damn fry bread. I added a side of guac to make it even more extra. Service is so friendly and there are tables so you can eat in, though take out is also a good option and if I lived in this town, I'd be taking out weekly, no doubt.

We came around 3:30pm so we could catch the masala chai happy hour. I love masala chai and rarely have the chance to get freshly made dairy-free chai. I was disappointed basically from the first moment after walking inside. The server greeted us by announcing, "We are out of vegetables today." I didn't know how this was possible; eventually, she explained that they had run out of the "veggies of the day" that come with certain dishes such as the yogi plate; they were still able to provide vegetables in other dishes like the kitchari. But I was shocked, since I love vegetables, and their veggies of the day are so prominently advertised. I asked if the other location had vegetables available today. The server was unable to tell me. We decided to place our order anyway. I had some questions about the baked goods, since I rarely get the chance to have desserts that are vegan and seed oil-free. I was curious if any of the baked goods was entirely oil-free or at least free of coconut oil. The server seemed very unmotivated to help me figure this out. When I asked about ingredients, she just repeatedly pointed me to the labels on the cookies that denoted the type of sugar each one contained as well as certain allergens, but did not have full ingredient lists. I asked if the chef or manager might be available to clarify certain ingredients, only to be told that "the chef usually only works in the mornings." I was at a loss, and eventually, with some obvious reluctance, the server went into the kitchen to ask one of the cooks about the ingredient lists. The server returned saying "Yes, the majority of the items have coconut oil." Ummmm the majority? Which ones, exactly? At this point, I gave up and just did not order dessert. I tried to order an iced chai which they were out of. I ended up getting a hot chai as well as kitchari and dal. The chai was pretty average. It wasn't particular spicy nor particularly hot. The kitchari and dal were actually incredibly delicious. It's rare to find a restaurant that doesn't use excessive salt; these dishes were perfectly seasoned with warm, nourishing spices and very little (if any?) salt. Even the fact that they were served basically lukewarm didn't detract from how much I enjoyed them. This place seems truly special and I don't know if my experience was an exception. I really wanted to love them, but they made it pretty difficult, despite having great and healthy food.
