In an attempt to find a hangout I came here with a few people last night. Got there around 8, and it was already pretty full. There are not very many seating choices, but the cool thing about Europe (unlike America) is that you can sit with strangers at a table and everyone is cool with it. Beers are pretty cheep, ,50l Dinkleacker 3€. It was Saturday, so eventually the place was sardined with people. They do have waiters who come by and pick up glasses, and you can order drinks with them, so you don't have to fight to get to the bar. Overall, not a bad night out. They turned the music up about 5 decimals around 10 which was annoying because it was already loud and after that my throat was dry from yelling and I could barely hear my friends who were sitting right next to me. Or I could be getting old. Who knows. Let's just say there's a reason I go to bars and not clubs. Anyway, if you're in to that kind of thing, this is your place. As for myself, I might return on a weeknight where hopefully there are less people in the room. read more

It's not that it has to have the best food or drinks, or even the cleanest bathrooms. Sometimes, location + friendly staff + ambience = success. This place has all three. I keep coming back because I can get the bier I want, I can always get a seat outside, it's great for people watching, and the staff is always friendly. Fantastisch!!! read more

Typical hipster place with stylish furniture and young people mostly students I would say. Nice place to visit

Even the Germans in Stuttgart don't seem to know why this place is so popular, why it's such a busy hangout. But it just is. It's almost always full of people, not only inside but outside too. Their drinks and food are good, nothing too special but nothing to complain about either. For me personally, it's become a last stage kind of place, if I don't know where to go for that last beer or drink before going home, why don't we just all go to Mata Hari. Good luck in getting seats inside, it's much better to stay outside for a while with a beer in hand, talking to friends and bumping into everyone. read more

We stumbled upon this place walking around Stuttgart. Great vibe. Very friendly staff and crowd. They have a good selection of beers. We didn't eat here but really enjoyed our time even though we felt a little old for the crowd. LOL. read more

Our absolute favorite dive bar here in Stuttgart! We've been here several times and even brought our friends from the US :) The staff is super friendly and makes a strong drink! My husband will come here to relax, sometimes play cards, and chill. Great dive vibe! read more
