Merz has been the most difficult heating and air companies we've ever dealt with. The tech who…read morevisits your home is absolutely fantastic. But the people who talk you into expensive yearly contracts and the scheduling for the twice yearly visits are extremely rude and uncooperative. I've had over half a dozen calls with them in the last year+, and despite signing the nearly $400 contract for two maintenance visits, I've only ever had one. Every time I call, I either receive no call back, or I am told (paraphrased) "Don't call us, we'll call you." The scheduling person absolutely refuses to give an appointment and leads you to believe there are other more important things happening than my maintenance visits. This has happened repeatedly. I've given up trying to get my second visit per my contract and will just be moving on to another more honest company with more professional employees. Despite my positive experience with the one tech I've ever been allowed to meet, the gatekeepers in the office have created a situation that I do not believe I would receive service if an emergency arose. Overall, this impression has given me a one-star rating of dishonest. They kept the contract money, refused to refund it, and refused to visit our home to do the promised maintenance checks.

I called to move up the date and was able to get a visit within the next 3 days. My favorite part of the interaction was that the person I spoke with reassured me that this was not an emergency situation and that many people don't even have a pump! The technician who came fixed the pump and pumped out the tank. I got a text that work was complete and the alarm light went off. I feel like I am in good hands with Harrelson.

We googled for the closest repair shop and found Holmes Radiator and A/C repair shop was about ten miles down the road in Effingham, IL. We got there and they gave us an estimate for new compressor and dryer plus labor was $545.00. We were expecting $1200.-$1500. at the least. Parts had to be overnighted and we were out of there by noontime the next day. Great customer service and honest, they could of charged us a lot more but didn't.
