Called babylon as my 2nd call and he told me good average prices so i could get a good idea on what i would be looking at spending & was open till 6pm on a saturday, the rest didn't answer or wouldn't give any average price over the phone.. their loss :)! Its a small shop on botany road about 5 mins walk to Redfern station & is only 2 shops down from the IGA :). Layed my cloths out & told him what i needed done for each clothing, priced up on a receipt and was outta there :) (fingers crossed) Could of come back sooner but was more convenient for me to come back a week later :), clothing looked untouched almost like he just clicked his fingers & they were all smaller sized haha!! Couldn't fault the workmanship at all!! Even one shirt which i thought was unfixable he fixed it!! He has had the shop where it is for the past 20 years and is still busy so what does thst tell you :D!! Also sells all types of his own clothing in the shop which is really cool aswell! Was super friendly & fun to talk to.. would hands down recommend him to anyone i know or dont know :). The cloths he fixed i wear more than all my other cloths ... almost like i went to a blast from the past cloths shop that fit me a whole lot better :)!!

They have a rather a large range of modern suits - no shirt ruffles or maroon velvet here. My son was a groomsman at a wedding recently, he was on a diet and consequently the original size no longer fitted him as the wedding got closer. They left his suit until last minute and when we went to pick it up he had gone down a couple of sizes. They did last minute adjustments on the day he picked it up. Those few extra pounds didn't matter at all, she was more worried about getting the style right. My niece had never been there before, I hadn't becuase I am quite a bit smaller than my niece (everybody seems bigger than me at 152 cms). However, my niece will go back because of the rapport with the woman. My niece is quite shy because of her size, she's the largest female in the family. A friend of mine enthusiastically recommended it to me and said I must, must check it out. So check it out I did. I found some very interesting, "out of the norm" garments in here. I was told afterwards that most of the shop's styling is European, which makes a lot of sense. Lots of quirky pieces fill the racks, most with interesting embellishments or asymmetrical necklines. I was drawn to a patchwork and lace cardigan, but had to catch my breath after realizing it was near the $300 mark. Not that it isn't worth it, I just didn't quite see it coming. If you're after shoes, jewelry or accessories, Standard Store has a few options here, but not a ton. They are definitely taking a minimalist approach to stocking the shop, but there's probably a sales tactic here that I'm just not aware of. That or the rest of their European shipment is being held up in Australian customs.

The Standard Store just opened in September of this year in a little heritage building in Surry Hills. It's the flagship of the Flying Standard Distribution agency, which sells various European brands. When I walked in, there was just one employee who was helping the only other customer in the store. She didn't even glance my way to welcome me or ask me if I needed assistance, which is surely not polite service. The store itself is cute, minimally decorated, and reminded me of a miniature version of Urban Outfitters (though much more organized). Their inventory of clothes is quite small, but they do carry basics like shirt, jeans, and shoes. I saw less than ten different brands in the men's section, though there appeared to be a bigger selection for women's apparel on the opposite side of the room. Sifting through the clothing racks, I saw $150 striped shirts and $300 cardigans. I like how they carry uncommon labels, but that doesn't detract from the unjustifiably high prices. Despite liking several things I saw, I can't picture myself rushing back here for any reason.

Luckily for me, Quick Fix Alterations is right around the corner from my house. While this is also a place to go for your dry cleaning, the woman who works there is a fantastic tailor with magic hands. I went in to get my suit taken in and she was very confident when I tried it on that she could achieve exactly what I wanted. A couple of days later, my suit was ready. When I picked it up and tried it on, I was completely satisfied with the results. The seams were very tidy and the entire suit was cleaned and pressed. It was around $80 to fix both the pants and the jacket. I highly recommend coming here for your tailoring needs.

Who said you can't get a Versace bag for less than 100$ or the genuine leather shoes. Yes you can at lemon and tea. They have some used stuff like designer branded handbags and used and restored shoes that you could wear to any couture occasion. I think it's a great place for students. Also have some amazing jewellery and funky frames. And this place teaches me a lesson that you don't have to spend a fortune to look and feel good. If we look closely we can surely find some fantastic things from Lemon and Tea which will turn out to be a winner. You just have to look.. By the way cool and friendly people in store as well.

Lucky me I saw this skirts rack inside this shop and they are very good quality designer skirts. They are so gorgeous - I wish I can 3 of them - end up buy 2 and save the last for later. They cost me $20 each and you wouldn't get this skirt with this price outside for sure with this quality. Even it's second-hand, it's really in a good nick - as it's new. Definitely will come back again to buy more from this shop. The owner is very friendly and she can do alteration if needed too with cheap price. Really recommended to come to see what's in this store. Will be back again to see their stock.
