I had a problem with my Porsche losing power. First I took it to San Diego Porsche (where I was visiting), paid $2,000 for repairs which did not fix it. Then I took it to Beaverton Porsche, where they wanted $5000, claiming I needed a new water pump and vacuum system. I was skeptical, so I took it to a private auto repair shop, albeit one that does not specialize in Porsches (they do other German cars). Straight shooter, but he did not have the relevant computer equipment. Finally, I took it to Matrix Integrated, where they correctly diagnosed a fuel pump problem. Car runs great again! I brought my 2001 VW Jetta in to the shop to have a brake light replaced, and the technician (I believe his name was Logan) not only installed it in a jiffy, but noticed that one of the running lights was out, too! The cost of repair (labor) increased when we wanted to bring in our own part. We asked to bring the part because the one matrix was using was 3x as much as the one recommended by the dealer. Unfortunately, because my car is older, it took some digging to figure out the correct part to use. However, I consider this the job of the shop as the experts in Mercedes. They would have installed the wrong part, not told us, charged us the extra labor fee, and then we'd have to redo the repair with the right part for additional cost. read more

Mayday! Mayday! Mayday!!! One week before leaving on a 6-Porsche car driving trip to Whistler B.C. the unthinkable occurred to my '82 911SC. It suddenly started idling erratically and stalling. Called my friend, Logan at Matrix Integrated, to plea for whatever assistance Matrix could offer on short notice. Thankfully, George was going to be on duty and could take a look to see if something simple could be done to cure the problem. In Porsche terms, simple meant dropping the engine and running a full diagnostic inspection only to find out the "air-box" was damaged and needed replaced. Additionally, the fuel mixture and timing were outside the spec. settings. The Matrix team scoured their sources to locate the "hard to find" air-box part, reassemble the engine components, made the necessary adjustments, and reinstalled the engine just in time for me to depart the following week. The driving trip turned out to be "The Drive of My Life" on the winding mountain roads around Whistler, B.C.! Thanks to Logan for squeezing my car into their schedule and especially to George for the extra effort, hours, and expertise to root out the problem(s) and make my 911SC run 1200 miles effortlessly. Never Again! I am very disappointed in this shop. My daughter is a student in Portland and took her car in for a repair to the cooling system. Although the price seemed very high, I was happy to have the work done. The day she drove home after the repair, her car overheated and needed to be towed back to the shop. Not only did they charge an additional 149.00 to diagnose the problem, but they gave a service estimate that was almost double what my mechanic at home told me he would charge for the same repair. It's unthinkable that a mechanic would claim to have fixed a problem, and then charge more to diagnose a related problem. I wasn't able to speak to the owner nor general manager. We paid the bill and took the car without paying for additional service. I'm sure we will find an honest, Reputable and fair mechanic to do this and a number of other service matters that need attention. We will never again bring a car to Matrix Integrated. The service we received was the stuff of legend. I didn't realize there were still unscrupulous mechanics preying on unsuspecting clients. read more

Came in here to get my VW's spark plugs serviced. Booked online and it was a very smooth and professional process (at least I think so, since I'm no mechanic!). What I enjoyed: - Got a quote through Yelp and was even able to book service through the chat. Best communication I got, hands down. - Used OEM parts! Well I didn't watch them put the plugs in, but that's what I asked and was told. - Easy process dropping off and picking up. - Huge lounge area to hang out - they even had some drinks :) - Seemed pretty expert in European cars. I called Matrix on Thursday, and they were able to get me in the following Monday. They performed a through inspection and informed me that the car was perfect and needed nothing. Good experience to share. Matrix Integrated took care of me, again. I've been going to them since my first German car over a decade ago. Two Porsche's, one Mercedes, and two BMWs. They have always taken great care of me and my car and my maintenence records. They reply to my emails quickly and thoroughly so that I can plan my car maintenance easily between my busy moments. This week, they installed new front brakes and found a supplier quality issue during final test drive. They had already given me an office space from which to privately work, and then they loaned me their shop Audi, overnight, while they fixed the issue (which was fixed within the day). I picked up my car in the morning, and the ~35 degree temp killed the last of my battery. ~8 years I had that battery, but due to my warm garage and the fact that I put it on a trickle charger every time I'm away for more than a week, I was unaware that my battery needed only a cold night to die peacefully. Matrix fixed me up before I left, and it is with gratitude that I share how much I appreciate this team's above and beyond! Thank you to Logan, Jesse, Bryan, Jeremy, Kyle, and Justin! I was referred to Matrix by the guy we bought our 2013 MINI from, he said they were honest, fair, and won't give you the run around on stuff you really don't need to have done on your car. The owner (Jeremy, I think) and I chatted through Yelp and he was super helpful & friendly. I would say the referral was spot on! They booked about a week or two out, but I can see why they do. We had to have the battery replaced - normally I could manage this but it required specific electronic updating etc. They replaced the battery, registered the IBS, and did an hour worth of inspection overall on the car for around $400. I thought it was pretty reasonably priced considering the AGM battery itself tends to run around $200. They found a couple minor things wrong but they weren't really worth fixing at this exact moment, and told me the price if I wanted to. No pressure or gimmicks. Everybody I spoke to was super friendly here and we'll definitely be going back for all of our repairs. read more
