Mitchell is absolutely amazing to say the least! We met up with him just about a week and a half ago and we were a bit late because of some traffic. I brought this up with Mitchell as we were on the way and he had let us know he had another couple and that he had to leave at a certain time as he had to be somewhere. I let him know that if he's still good to push through that he should shoot the couple that's coming first. Honestly wouldn't have minded rescheduling the whole thing because we were late. Y'all. This man had somewhere to be and STILL made an adjustment for us so he could spend time with us and take our photos. He went above and beyond for us, something we absolutely did not expect. We had the shoot, got to know each other a little bit... it was all a great experience! After the shoot, he literally sent the photos LATER THAT NIGHT. With editing and all. And they are AMAZING to say the very least! So yeah. I'm here to just say what an amazing guy he is and honestly he deserves more business for what he did not only for us, but for others as he's done before! We are SO lucky to have found Mitchell of Matsuhiro Moments! We were looking for an engagement photographer who could really capture our authentic emotions, and could work with a multicultural couple. We liked how his pictures looked balanced and really romantic. We told him we wanted something in nature, and he sent me a couple of locations and ideas, deciding on a place that was mindful of my budget. He showed up early to the shoot. During it he made us feel comfortable: super important because my fiancé and I are awkward in front of the camera. He was so friendly, suggesting ways to relax and act more natural. His expertise showed in the way he made adjustments to our poses to capture our best sides and how he was moving around us to get the light just right. Mitchell is hands down one of the best photographers ever! My husband and I decided to take family photos with our one year old son, parents, and brother. I was nervous because I didn't know how my son would react in front of a camera. We also had a large group (6 of us total). However, Mitchell was so professional and kind from the moment I reached out to him. I initially decided on doing the shoot at a regional park. However, we kept getting rained out and the trails were closed due to mud from the heavy rains. We unfortunately had to reschedule multiple times. Yet, Mitchell was extremely flexible and accommodating during this process. He was never pushy or gave us any pressure. He made an excellent suggestion to change locations and it was the best decision ever! On the day of the shoot, my family was kind of a hot mess prior to arriving on site. I forgot his favorite toys to help assist with the shoot and make him smile for the photos. However, the moment we met Mitchell, he was so calm and collected. Even though he was a complete stranger, he treated our family like we were old friends. The entire process went extremely smooth. Being a large group, he was very clear with directions and went with the flow. He was so patient and playful with our son and able to make him laugh! Mitchell went ABOVE AND BEYOND our expectations!! We scheduled a family photo session and have to say that for being our first it was a great experience. He made my wife, our two boys, and I feel comfortable with the whole process. Our boys can be difficult to photograph but he knew how to handle the situation. In the past, we have used several photographers for different events, (engagement, Christmas, a fitness show, our pregnancy announcement etc) and every experience has been different with some being much better than others. But no photography session (or photos) have compared to what we experienced with Mitchell! I honestly struggle to find the words a little bit even, because it was just so special and different then other experiences we've had. But I'll try, because he really deserves the recognition and confidence that people should have when considering him for their memories. First of all, I'm a brand new mom and I was a nervous wreck about having someone around my baby. That being said, we didn't want to miss the chance to photograph our newborn daughter and both be in the photos as well. So I find Mitchell through a community forum here locally and right off the bat, our interaction was professional and considerate. He was responsive, reasonable with his availability and price, and seemingly very capable. Little did i know we were about to be thoroughly impressed from here.. =) We booked Mitchell for our newborn shoot and he arrived on time and we started our session. I would not say I was in the best mood, because I had thought I would be put together and ready for the shoot, but as babies have their own agenda, mine did that day too. I had no makeup on and hadn't even brushed my hair. Baby was screaming when Mitchell arrived, all like a bad movie lol. Bad as this sounds, from here, everything worked out flawlessly, and the reason is because of who he is and the love and care he brings to his profession, not to mention his talent. We were never rushed. All I kept thinking was, how are we going to get her calm and get some shots done when we have this professional only booked for so much time and nothing is going as planned!? But, not to worry, because rather then making things worse by trying to move things along, Mitchell was just so kind and so calm, that his demeanor and way of being, actually calmed the rest of the house down too, dogs included. Sounds funny to say, and maybe a little weird if you haven't experienced that before, but when someone puts a human touch into something as personal coming into your home, being around your newborn (when literally NO ONE else has yet!) and not rushing you or making you feel bad for how sideways things are starting out, its just an amazing experience. Everyone fed off Mitchell, and suddenly we are taking pictures of the family, and everyone is genuinely calmed and glowing again. Somehow he directed us, and guided us, and before I knew what was happening, along we were going on a fun filled photo shoot where the baby was cooperating, we were all smiling, and even the puppies were coming around (they usually steer clear of strangers, but nope not Mitchell, even the dogs liked him)! At any rate, our whole session went this way. Mitchell was genuine, he was present, he was compassionate and he was patient. I had no idea how the pictures were going to turn out, but it wouldn't have mattered because even if we only got a few, the whole experience just went so much better then I expected that I was very much at peace with whatever we got photo-wise from that. But then the photos arrived! And now I don't even know what to say, except that rather then 5 stars, I wish I could give 100!! I"m honestly just completely blown away, and there is no exaggeration in that. I knew we were being photographed, but I had no idea how what he was doing with the different lenses, because everything was so seamless and natural, so I just don't think i realized. These pictures are so incredible! Every one of them is beautiful, and rather then a small few, we got so many!! I cried when I saw them, they were so perfect. Even the frazzled ones of me, no makeup or hairbrush, but he managed to get just the right light, the right angle, whatever magic he used, and even THOSE ones are perfect! We already booked our next session, because why wouldn't we do this again as a family? To have someone with Mitchell's talent and character come in and capture a different stage for our baby, I'd like to just have him come every few months from here on, because there's no way we can ever get pictures/memories of this quality again otherwise! We contacted When we were looking for a photographer for our engagement photos. Neither my fiancé or I are comfortable being in front of a camera so I was very nervous about going through with this shoot. We also brought along my 9 year old daughter that we wanted to incorporate into some but not all of our photos. Right off the bat I felt at ease, he guided us and made sure to check out the area and photo ops before putting us into the area. We traveled to two different locations did a wardrobe change and even did a nice little hike. The entire time he was snapping pictures both candid and 'posed' with out being posed. He was able to incorporate my daughter into a good amount of pictures but was able to pull her aside with such grace and care to where she didn't feel left out. I was very nervous on how they would turn out, as I said we both are not comfortable in front of a camera, but I am beyond pleased with the final photos that were given to us. I contacted Mitchell while I was still in the planning process of our trip to Los Angeles. The weekend in LA was coming at the tail end of a cross country road trip with my girlfriend, and I wanted a photographer to capture our visit to Griffith Observatory. The stakes were high, because I was planning on proposing and wanted to make sure we had someone to capture the moment. I could not have been happier with Mitchell's support, professionalism, and fantastic eye throughout my entire experience with him. We must have exchanged 30 emails in the lead up and it was clear that he was just as invested in getting this right as I was, which I truly appreciated.
