Great experience trying for the first time lunch special was spectacular 10/10 Comes with a non caffeinated barley drink Service was great and the environment is relaxed not too loud

Easy going Japanese place with good value on their combo plates! The manager special was great since it had a little bit of everything: fresh salad, crunchy mix tempura, assorted nigiri, and hot soba. Food was good in flavor and very filling but I didn't feel sick after all of it. Vibes are casual and good comes out hot and fast!

Came here for a date night and will definitely be coming back! The meal came with complementary ice tea, I believe it was barley or oolong tea. I ordered the ten toji don combo and a salmon hand roll. The food came out fast and was piping hot. The portions were also huge for not a ton of money. The udon was delicious and the ten toji don was good as well! I loved the combo of the shrimp tempura with the egg. The salmon hand roll tasted fresh as well, 8/10. There is ample seating in the restaurant and lots of parking outside. The restaurant is also located in a shopping plaza with many other restaurants and dessert places.

Iced tea (complimentary) Free iced tea + water right when you sit down -- actually refreshing, perfect on a hot day

We had zero plans to eat out and randomly ended up here on the way home from being way out of our usual zone... and my wife literally said, "we did good with this place." That pretty much sums it up. To be real -- we didn't even have the brain cells to read reviews or compare spots... because Jameson was screaming bloody murder in the backseat So we pulled up Google Maps, typed "soba noodles," and picked the place with the most legit-sounding name. Absolute gamble... and somehow we hit. We walked in with two kids already in full meltdown mode, snacks packed just in case... and somehow this turned into one of those meals where everyone ended up eating everything. Right away, they brought out cold water AND iced tea -- both complimentary, which hit perfect on a hot day. And the tea was actually good. Then you look around and realize... most of the tables are speaking Japanese. That's always a green flag. First move: manager's special combo -- no-brainer. You get sushi, tempura, noodles, salad... basically everything we would've ordered anyway for the price of one dish elsewhere. Perfect when your brain is fried and you just need it handled. We also grabbed a kids meal with cold soba, and this is where it got strategic. My wife took the soba + salad (smart move), the kids went straight for the onigiri, and it comes with a toy AND dessert. Way better value than ordering separate plates for kids who might not even eat. Food highlights: Agedashi tofu -- huge portion, crispy outside, soft inside. Kids crushed the tofu, I handled the mountain of mushrooms Katsu curry -- straight comfort food. Big portion too... we tapped out, Luna stepped in and gave it 7 thumbs up Udon -- simple, clean, and comforting (kids kept going back to it) Sushi -- fresh, straightforward, done right Drinks were a win too -- large hot sake + large Sapporo for a price that honestly felt like a steal. Now let's be clear -- I'm not saying this place has the best sushi, the best soba, the best udon, the best tempura, the best agedashi tofu, or the best katsu curry... But they had ALL of it... and ALL of it was GOOD. And somehow... my kids were quiet, happy, and eating everything like it was home-cooked. That alone is a win you can't measure on a Yelp star scale. If you're trying to nitpick like a food critic, this probably isn't your spot. But if you're just a normal human being -- especially with kids -- looking for a place that actually works... We got all that food, drinks, a happy wife, happy kids, and made it through a chaotic day... for under $80. Hands down, the best place to get all of that and still walk out with a happy wife, happy kids, and zero regrets. Yeah... this place won. And like my wife said -- we did good with this place.

Nice & quick service on a Wednesday night Order a 3 hand roll combo with hot udon & the tempura bowl ($65) The food tastes fresh & feels very cozy inside. I love their combo options on the menus, great variety to try multiple options on the menu. My boyfriend loves the tempura here & the sauce was amazing

Meh. You come here to get full not for taste. Stumbled upon this place after scrolling through Yelp for a Japanese spot. Been trying to find different Japanese spots in South Bay. This place ain't it though. This place is like a Japan Salaryman lunch. Taste isn't particular good, but you get a lot of food for your money. My SO got the sushi, udon, salad, tempura lunch combo. Salad was okay. Udon was very bland and not much taste. Lots of noodles though. The sushi was not good. Fish was terrible quality. Worse than the fish you can get at all you can eat spots and Costco. The rice was terrible. texture aint right and kept falling apart. The tempura was decent though. Probably the best part of her meal. I got the Katsudon combo with the udon. My udon came with tempura flakes. It was just as bland as the one from my SO. Soup had very very little taste. the Katsudon wasn't anything special either. Not that great. Bland and pork katsu was whatever. Overall, overrated spot. If you set your expectations right, then sure this place is ok, but this isn't a foodie spot. Would not come back again.

I have not been back in years since I don't live near this restaurant. I came by for lunch and the food was delicious. We had the manager special. $18 It came with6 pcs of sushi, hot or cold udon or soba, shrimp & veggie tempura and a salad. The portion was generous. Friendly service. Plenty of parking. We came at 11:45 and no wait but people started lining up by noon. Plenty of tables for small and large group. Plenty of parking in the lot. The menu prices are very reasonable.

Food is reasonable. There is a Manager's special that has a variety of yummies. Sashimi sushi, hot or cold soba or udon , tempura shrimp and veggies , and a salad for under $20. I had the nabeyaki udon it was delicious lots of chicken, there was also a rib eye steak with rice and carrots ,and five piece shrimp tempura fried to perfection. Service was excellent. Bathrooms were clean one person at a time. Atmosphere is nice . I recommend this place.

Such an excellent lunch special for just $15! The food was very solid, and I genuinely enjoyed my meal. The servers were incredibly efficient, kind, and attentive throughout. I also appreciated the simple, cozy ambiance--nothing over the top, just comfortable and welcoming. I'll probably bring my mom here next time.

I can't believe that in all my years of visiting the South Bay, I didn't know about this place until just a few weeks ago. Now that I know, though, I will 100% be returning! I visited for lunch on a Sunday around 2, and it was pretty busy but we were seated in about 10 minutes. The restaurant is fairly small and cozy. Upon being seated, the server immediately brought over some complimentary iced tea, which was unexpected and great. All of my family members and I opted to try the manager's special, which comes with sushi, tempura, salad, and your choice of hot or cold soba or udon. I thought the food was great. Perfectly balanced--nothing felt overly heavy, and I left feeling full but not like I was going to burst. The salad dressing was very good, and I thought the tempura batter was also very light and crispy. My cold soba and sushi were both pretty standard. For under $20, you really can't get a better deal anywhere else. I am looking forward to returning and trying more of their fairly expansive menu.

This little gem of a place has the best lunch special. $15 for a soup, salad, sushi & tempura. All of that for $15!!!! I got there right before opening & was seated immediately. The line just kept getting longer & longer. I noticed the owner who was an older Japanese woman going around all the tables including ours to Mae sure everything was great. (Always a nice feeling for the owner to come around.)

    Oyako Don Combo
    Matt O.

Came here on a Tuesday and there was no wait, but it was pretty crowded. Sat down and was served iced tea which was really refreshing. We ordered the managers special and oyako don. The prices were cheap for the amount of food we got. I was debating between the managers special and the shrimp tempura don. But I think the managers special variety was nice. It was very filling and the price was worth it. The restaurant was decorated nice and the partition in the middle of the room felt like it gave every party some privacy.

Came back on Saturday, 2/7/26 for my birthday month. The service is still top notch, food still delicious! I think the ribeye steak in the past was a bigger portion but it's still great for the price. Relaxing and family friendly restaurant. One of our go to places for a satisfying meal.

We are huge fans of this place! This Torrance spot on Cabrillo is actually one of three branches…read morethey have, we've officially been to the other two now, and tonight's dinner here definitely didn't disappoint. The restaurant itself is on the smaller side, but it has a really nice, cozy decor with cool Japanese characters on the walls. We went with their popular tempura combo paired with cold udon, and also grabbed a shrimp tempura roll. Everything was amazing! These guys absolutely know what they are doing when it comes to tempura, it's always perfectly light, crispy, and delicious. The service was also fantastic, super efficient, quick, and friendly from start to finish. Plus, having a parking lot in the back makes coming here totally stress-free. Another great meal down, highly recommend!

Worth the wait? I don't think so…read more After hearing so much hype about this place, I had to see what all the fuss was about. People talk about waiting 45 minutes to over an hour just to get a table, especially on weekends, so I decided to come during lunch instead. Luckily, the place was almost empty, which made for an easy visit. Going in, my expectations were high. Since I'm allergic to shrimp, I let the staff know and ordered the beef bowl and tempura combo instead. At around $20, I wasn't expecting cheap fast food, but I was expecting something that justified the price. The tempura was easily the highlight of the meal. It was light, crispy, and fried well, especially paired with the dipping sauce. If there's one reason I'd give this place any credit, it's the tempura sauce. The chicken tempura, however, was a different story. The coating was crispy, but the chicken itself was incredibly bland. It tasted like plain boiled chicken that happened to get dipped in tempura batter. The beef bowl was even more disappointing. Honestly, it reminded me of a Yoshinoya beef bowl--except it cost more than twice as much and came with a noticeably smaller portion. That's a comparison I never expected to make at a restaurant with this kind of reputation. The service didn't do much to elevate the experience either. Considering how slow it was during lunch, I expected a little more attentiveness, but it felt pretty average from start to finish. As for the atmosphere...it was fine. Nothing particularly memorable, nothing that made me think, "I need to come back." Maybe I ordered the wrong items. That's always possible. But based on this visit, I just don't understand the hype. The food was decent--not terrible--but nowhere near worth the long waits, the price, or the reputation it seems to have built. If you happen to be nearby and there's no line, sure, give it a try. But if you're planning to wait an hour because everyone says it's a must-visit, I honestly think you can skip it and won't feel like you missed out. Buyer please be aware.

Nonetheless, it retained its traditional izakaya décor with its counter seating alongside some regular tables. The staff were all new but still very courteous and brought the menu and water right away. New items were added but the core dishes remained the same. For this visit, we ordered our regular items and they arrived in 10 minutes: Eboshi Mini Trio with Shio Ramen, Fried Rice and Gyoza: The fried rice was still top notch, with slightly firm texture, not too oily, and pleasantly seasoned. The Shio Ramen with its clear broth was nicely savory. The thin noodles were cooked perfectly, and the chashu pieces were tender. To complement the set, the gyozas with their delicate wraps had nicely burnt bottoms, and flavorful fillings. Champon Ramen: A complex ramen with an assortment of meat, veggies and seafood. There were sliced pork pieces, shrimps, squids, cabbage, onions, snow peas and many more. The clear broth was quite savory and enriched by oil from sauteed ingredients. The noodles had a very nice texture and were a tad al dente. We were amazed that after all these years, the restaurant retained its original taste and flavor.
