Nancy originally quoted me one amount, but in the end, I was charged more than double--and she blamed the increase on my previous attorney. Communication was poor throughout. I constantly had to chase her down for updates, and serious concerns--like my pension and life insurance--were ignored. She also failed to advocate for fair and consistent alimony payments, leaving me financially unstable and vulnerable. One of the most devastating oversights was her failure to secure a life insurance policy to protect my alimony. As a stay-at-home mom for 24 years, alimony is the majority of my income, and without that protection, if something happens to my ex, I'm left with nothing. To make matters worse, when my ex-husband said he wanted to retire in 10 years and that the pension would then replace my alimony, I was never advised that this meant the pension was tied to his retirement. Nancy never explained the long-term impact of that arrangement or pushed for continued alimony until that time. Now, in 10 years, I'll have no income. That should have been caught and addressed by any attorney truly looking out for their client. When I raised my concerns, instead of taking responsibility or correcting her mistakes, Nancy dropped me as a client and left me to pick up the pieces alone. What a horrible experience trying to get an estate set up for an uncle. They advertised a nice…read moreprice. I paid the cost and then the first set of paperwork I sent them took 3 1/2 weeks to arrive as I sent it regular mail. Maybe that's the case or maybe it sat on someone's desk somewhere I don't know. But then I was asked to send an original will from my uncle and of course I was fearful because of what had just played out with the previous mail, but I sent it priority. And lo and behold, according to them, my package arrived missing pages. Again, even after I told them how fearful I was at sending it because it was my only copy. I treated it like Gold. I know I sent the entire package and somehow Pages got lost and now they wanna charge me more money to set up the estate. The associate I was working with said she had seen this happen before where the Post Office lost pages in a priority package. The additional fee they want to charge me almost doubles what they advertised. The lesson here is don't choose an attorney that isn't close enough that you can go physically and hand them paperwork and don't choose one because they advertise a cheaper price. You might get the service I just received. The only good thing they did is offer me a full refund so I go find another attorney to get the job done correctly only now I have to do it without my original will from my uncle.
