I went to Avail Hospital on recommendation that they work with you; however, this was not the case. While I do have a $500 deductible on my insurance, my insurance does pay some before the deductible is met so that you don't have to pay $500 in one fell swoop. After speaking with my insurance, my insurance informed that Avail should have never made us pay $450 upfront before billing the insurance. Also why was the hospital trip that expensive anyways???? My 3 yr old fell and cut his chin open and they simply just "glued" the cut shut. My other son had a similar injury on his forehead when he was about the same age that he sustained at school and that ER visit was less than $200. So while the staff is friendly and you get see quickly (mainly because they don't have a lobby full of people) they are extremely expensive and do not bill your insurance first. I will never go back again. I'd rather wait at an ER for a few hours and pay a reasonable bill. On 6/15/22 I Updated my review with information that is pertinent to my previously left review --- My husband has been trying to contact billing department because we received our EOB but never received a billing statement from Avail. Our EOB shows that Avail owes us a refund; however, the billing department refuses to return the messages left. Additionally when I left my review on the BBB back on 5/4/22, there was a response from Avail to contact them by phone/email but the information to contact was either "*****" or "XXXXX", and no, it was not an auto filter blocking the contact because in a review left by someone else, they responded with a phone number and you can see the phone number.

Plus, if you just happen to be running short or about to run out of your meds, it does not take days to get a refill. Knowing we were terrified and didn't want to be pregnant, she still delivered the news by saying "Well, you're going to have a Christmas baby." She was our counselor after that. She made my doctor's appointments for the first few times and made sure I had medicaid. She went to all of my doctor's visits except the one my mom went to me with when we stopped using Dr. Darbonne. I called her that night to let her know how it went and that we would no longer be using that doctor because of his response to my mom. She told me that I shouldn't waste his time with dumb questions and if the ultrasound did do any damage to my baby's ears, would I love him less? What if he was born with some kind of disability? Then, she asked what doctor I was using and when I told her she started to cut him down saying things she'd heard about him. I just hung up. Later, my son's dad called me asking what was going on. The woman had called him and told him I was being unreasonable. She told him the story. VERY unprofessional. I was ready to stop using her services immediately, but he suggested we give her one more try because, at the time, we were considering adoption, but not very strongly. We met with her and she gave us a scrapbook made by a couple looking to adopt a child. When I asked how many couples we would look at, she snapped at me about how too many couples would just confuse us. She then suggested that this woman be at my next doctor's appointment. I said no. She said I was selfish. I also asked how far away these people lived because I didn't want to run in to them on the street with my child one day. She said they couldn't tell us where they lived but it wasn't that far away because they still had to come to our city to get the baby and go to court. If you want a child bad enough, in my opinion, you would travel to the end of the world and back as many times as necessary. It also happened that my son's father went to a dinner party a little while after our son was born (and not put up for adoption) and the same couple was there. Imagine how that would have been if they'd adopted our baby. After that I said I was going to consider it and we left. She called me one last time and I informed her that I was not considering adoption anymore. After telling me that it was very selfish to try to raise a baby in my situation, she hung up. I never heard from her again even though, according to the initial meeting, the service is supposed to help you and support you throughout pregnancy, no matter what your decision. The entire time, I felt like she was trying to negotiate a sale for her friends. I don't think the woman really had any interest in my well being or my child's, and he was no more than a car sale to her.
