Anyways, I had repeatedly called her, emailed her for one question and she never returned my phone calls! Though I had a great experience with her discussing things feeling there were resolutions I am very disappointed with her. I would never go back to her!

Medication is part of the equation but not the entire picture. She also believes that medication should help fairly quickly (within 2 weeks), otherwise we needed to try something else. This is unlike some other psychiatrists I have had that would tell me I needed to continue to feel miserable for another 6-8 weeks before the meds would help me. Anyway she's a true patient advocate and I feel very lucky to have found her.

My daughter was nearing the end of her Wilderness Therapy treatment, but she was not ready to come…read morehome yet. She needed another residential treatment program. Her father and I were overwhelmed with all the programs out there and didn't know where to start. Enter Jennifer. She spoke to us about our daughter's needs and struggles, along with our thoughts on what kind of program might be a good fit. Then she coordinated with the Wilderness program to speak to our daughter directly, asking similar questions, to really get a feel for where she's at and what she could handle after. Jennifer asked a lot of thoughtful questions to get a complete picture of our daughter and her challenges. Jennifer then hit the ground running and used the info collected and researched what programs could potentially work. She presented three options, all different and each with their own strengths. She set up calls with each of the programs so we (including our daughter) could talk to them and get a feel for what they could offer. The program we decided on (where my daughter is currently) has been wonderful. Just a few weeks ago my daughter said, "Mom! I haven't felt this good in years! I'm excited and hopeful about my future. I spoke to Dr Segal about the TMS treatments she offered for depression. Her office was very…read morepleasant and convenient. She explained that it only works 60% of the time and I would have to come 5 times a week for six weeks. She said it would be most effective if I am consistent and don't take breaks. I cleared my calendar and committed to the treatments. Halfway through, without notice or explanation, she told me she would be gone for a month. I told her I had committed to this time and she said only that "it couldn't be helped." I asked if someone could cover her and she said "no." We would resume when she came back and she would add extra sessions. I told her I had already made other plans and she just shrugged and repeated "it couldn't be helped ." Clearly, her time was more valuable than mine and, as a patient, I came second. I've never known any doctor, especially a mental health doctor, who didn't have a backup in case of emergency and would abandon a depressed patient. We finished treatment and it didn't help me at all. She said she didn't know if it was because of the break or if I was part of the 40% who didn't respond. She said we could wait a while and start over without any breaks and i said "no thanks." It would mean another huge commitment of time for me and more income for her. I found her practice to be very unprofessional bordering on malpractice and would not recommend her.

I think I have been seeing them for my meds for 6 or 7 years and I fully recommend them.
