Sometime last year i purchased a tv and surround package from Matt at the solihull store. Well, the service i recieved from the moment i walked in and started staring at a big beautiful 4k tv right at the front of the store was impeccable. It seems nowadays that many businesses employ mindless, sell-hungry drones that i just can't stand! At the solihull store however, i found Matt and i think his manager...to have a fantastic sense of humour, huge amount of knowledge of their products and still managed to maintain a very professional manner and even carried my big tv to the car, parked around the corner in a multi story!! When i got home after my purchase i had some trouble hooking up my surround speakers to my existing amp. Luckily! They had given me the store number and said to ring if i had any problems, i took advantage of this kind offer and called the next day. Again, the service i recieved was fantastic. I'm not sure who i spoke to at the store but they were brilliant. It took me all of 5 minutes to get my amp on the right setting, position my speakers in the room correctly for me and test it to make sure everything sounded right. I cannot reccommend these guys highly enough! All aspects of my purchase were above and beyond! My family and i are still blown away by how incredible our tv and sound system is now. Thank you! Paul

I know this because…read morewhen I asked the owner of the company, Julian Richer, why his stores were so small he wrote back in person to inform me that it is in order to keep overheads down and ultimately deliver low prices to the customer. Anyway this personal approach from the director of the company is echoed all the way to the salesmen who, unlike larger chains of electrical stores, actually know what they are talking about. Even more to their credit, the salesmen will tell you if the products they have are not going to be suitable for your needs. Something you don't see all that much these days. The store is not located in the centre of Nottingham and is not situated well for any of the multi storey car parks. However this is not a problem as there are parking slots outside the store and the staff will pay for the parking meter.

I bought a Cambridge Audio TOPAZ for just under 80 quid, an absolute bargain. I also needed some really good speakers to get the highest definition of sound from my vinyl, CD's and MP3's. I got a pair of Wharfedale floor standers for under 100 quid. Money well spent and my sound system is pristine. The staff at Richer really know what they are talking about. They don't go for the high pressure sales technique, they just let you browse and they answer any questions that you may have. This branch is a flagship store and I wouldn't go anywhere else for my consumer electronic needs.

The staff have extensive experience of audio visual equipment and they not only advised me on equipment but also hand-drew a diagram on how to connect the system together and advised me that although I'd bought the second cheapest units, that buying gold plated connectors would upgrade the sound somewhat. Richer Sounds have a nice line in bookshelf speakers too, and starting at around £20 for a pair they are amazing value for money. Also look out for discontinued lines of equipment that are bought in bulk at cut-prices and the savings passed on to you. With home-cinema systems being an impressive and (somewhat) affordable installation in your dwelling, the shop also has this mode of entertainment covered well with a stack of gear to suit whatever space you might have available.

Their speaker wire and cables are particularly good value, and I would recomend their own brand as being able to stand comparison with much more costly equivalents. They have a sound proofed trial room so that you can hear your prospective purchase before you buy. If you want to get the best of service and attention from the staff, I would suggest that you avoid Saturdays as the shop gets extremely busy then.

Richer Sounds is one of the cheapest places in the country to buy quality audio visual equipment…read more They have recently moved away from the town centre so the location isn't quite as convenient but the new shop is much larger so they can stock a lot more items. A lot of the things they sell are available through the Richer Sounds website but they usually recommend that you visit the store so that there is no risk of the items getting damaged in the post. This also means you get to actually listen to/watch the the equipment you are interested in before you part with your money. The staff are usually genuinely interested in the products they sell so are very knowledgable and willing to help.

The staff there are really helpful and are always at hand . I love the products from here they are really cheap and sometimes can often beat other retailers . I brought a 5.1 from there a few years back and has major problems with it but richer sounds couldnt be more helpful they tried there up most to find me a diffrent one and at the same price too . The shop itself has easy disabled access and is very clean and well layed out infact its a big improvement from the last shop its the best thing they did moving
