In fact, the fabric has held up all of these years with children and dogs! However, the back cushions were sagging and the seats welt cords had worn through. Looked to replace the sofa, but found nothing that compared to this piece. Brought the cushions to the Greenfield store and even though the company that made this sofa was no longer in business, they agreed to add fill and delete the welt cords and renew the cushions. It only took 4 days (had them back in time to watch the NCAA tourney which made my husband happy!) and the couch looks like new! Thank you to Anthony and Michael for an awesome job!!! So - the kicker and why it's 4 and not 5 stars. The delivery and assembly. We live in a high rise downtown and they will only deliver to your bottom lobby level. It will come assembled but what you don't think about immediately is that a door width is only 36". If it had come assembled, it wouldn't be able to fit inside our condo to go to the balcony. This is no issue if you're delivering to a house b/c you just go straight to the backyard. But a condo - very different. So - we had it come in boxes and we opted to assemble after the showroom told us it was very easy. First off - the furniture is extremely heavy - hence the excellent quality! And it was not easy to assemble for my husband/myself. Talking with customer service, they told us to just shove pieces together and it will work. After spending $1800 for the furniture - I wasn't willing to do that. So I called the store and they came out and put it together on our balcony. We are forever grateful for that and while it's easy for some to put together - this wasn't an easy endeavor. Just something to think about if you live in a condo. With all that being said - I would order from By the Yard again b/c I think the company/staff and furniture are of great quality.

To our pleasant surprise, Joe showed up to change our perception of furniture store associates. Joe's demeanor is calming, professional, kind, patient and jovial. He clearly cares about ensuring that the shopper makes a great decision before spending any money, made apparent by his willingness to bring samples of leather to our house so we could envision our new chairs in their permanent setting. Joe knows how to offer advice without condescension by asking great questions and really listening to the answers. His mild approach extended into the discussion of protection plans when he clearly explained the cost and benefits of purchasing accidental coverage for our new chairs. Normally I'm one of those "that's how they get ya" kind of people, but I actually felt great about buying peace of mind from Joe. The custom chairs were completed and delivered ahead of schedule, which is always a bonus. One complaint: the delivery guys were not at all gentle or careful with the chairs or our home. They were banging into our porch railing, walls and door casings, and set the chairs down pretty hard on our brand newly refinished floors. That said, I can't give less than five stars.
