I stopped in on a Saturday and sat with Gino. It was my first time in and it was a busy morning. I was 4th in line and I was also with my 4 year old daughter. There was also a little boy getting his haircut by Gino. It went smoothly for that little boy. While waiting, my daughter decided to make some friends, because, she isn't afraid of strangers, or being kidnapped. Luckily for me and my wife, the patrons of Matts At the Buzzer aren't known to be breaking the law in broad daylight with 3 other patiently waiting long haired peeps. I ended up befriended a woman with her son. After her son got his haircut, he was more handsome than he came in. I was hoping Gino would have that same effect on me. My turn was up. Given this place is in a town with basically no other barber shops that are open past 5, I can see it getting some solid reviews. If you're looking for a professional haircut this is not the place to go. I'm staying in Millbury briefly so I haven't been able to go to my regular barber but I can easily tell there is a huge difference in quality of the haircuts. At $12, it's not a super expensive haircut, but the barber (and yes there is only 1 barber) simply gives the bare minimum haircut. If you like cheap haircuts in a filthy run down shop with racism flowing from the barber's mouth, then the Sports Clip is for you. I have been here twice and both times during what is normally the busiest time of day, after work, they only staff with one person. So when you should be in and out in under 30 minutes, it takes over an hour. The place is covered in dust and 20 years of hair. They rarely sweep the floor so you walk through a mountain of hair to get to the chair. This place is not worth the wait or the price. Plus a racist barber is not for me! read more

What a great place! Took my son for a walk-in cut. There was quite a line and no check-in but somehow the barbers are able to keep track of who came in first. The wait was not too bad despite how busy it was. About 20 minutes or so. They were so quick and professional and the style came out so great! Brought my 5 yr old son for a haircut. I had quite the wait given it was a walk in , which I would expect. The barber was a black gentleman who's name I do not know. I thought my sons haircut was fine until I got home and discovered how crooked his lines were. This place rushes though their cuts and quality is jeopardized. I can't speak for the other barbers here but the one we went to was horrible. When I got home I had to fix my sons hair. I tipped the guy after too. I will not return. read more

My 2 sons have been going to Sports Clips - (now called Matt's at the Buzzer) - since their very first hair cuts! We love Matt & Josh. They're professional, talented and personable. Matt is especially great with the kids, making them feel comfortable with jokes and high-fives. Best of all - they're fast. Each kid is in the chair for no more than 5 minutes, which makes it easy for the kids AND they do an amazing job! Both my boys have more than just a boy's buzz cut too - they have the "boardwalk empire" cut - a retro throw-back to the 20's and 60's. Matt executes the style to perfection. And at $8 per kid's cut, you can't go wrong. They just moved next door to a state-of-the-art Barber shop (with sports memorabilia and 4 big-screen tv's) and changed their name to Matt's at the Buzzer. We will never go anywhere else! read more

Horrible experience overall. My usual barbershop was closed and I was in need of a haircut. Decided to go here after I heard good things from my cousin. After the long wait I was finally in the chair and I told the barber I wanted a skin tight fade with a hard part. Barber went so fast he was basically just hitting my head with the clippers. Continued to say "alright man you're good to go" when I then asked can you do the hard part which was horribly crooked. I simply asked if he could line up the beard with the haircut and I was giving extreme attitude and he put the clippers to it for about two seconds and then basically pushed me out of the chair. Had to go across the street to get cash because of course they're cash only. And he guy seemed even more angry when I didn't tip. Worst haircut and experience I've ever had. My 19 month old was in desperate need of a haircut. We were in town visiting our family before moving out of the country and I had gone to Matt's a couple times years ago. That was for me and not a kid and we couldn't survive a bad haircut right before leaving. Matt didn't disappoint. The shop was as I remembered and just some rearrangements of chairs and some added memorabilia. There was a nook that my son could play with some toys while we waited for his turn (we were next and less than a 5 minute wait). My boy hopped up on the chair and Matt asked what we wanted and I told him that as long as he still looked like a little boy and I didn't come home with buzzed head so the wife wouldn't kill me. I have been going to Matt and Josh for years. They're the only ones who have cut my children's hair starting at their very first little boys haircut. $8 for a kids haircut and $10 for a men's is a great price. They do some pretty awesome designs as well. The atmosphere is excellent(cartoons on tv near the toys, sports and/or price is right on the others). The guys are always slinging jokes and having fun. It can get pretty busy there on a Saturday afternoon, but don't let that fool you, they can bang out haircuts pretty quickly. My family and I still call it by the previous name "sports clip" and probably always will. Great price, great work, and great people. Support your local small business. read more

I took my 3 1/2 year old son here today so we could both get our hair cut. The place was recommended to me by a friend who had recently moved into the area. The owner did both of our cuts and did a great job. My son was relaxed and had a smile on his face the whole time. That's not how he usually is when getting a hair cut. There was a lot of hair on the floor sure but to me that gives the place a kind of old school barber shop vibe that's missing from most places. There were no pictures on the walls with people modeling horrible hair cuts. Instead we were treated to pictures of local sports legends like Larry bird and Marvin haggler to name a couple. I like this place a lot and we will be back. We got the hair cuts I asked for. That's the most important thing to me. All this also came at a fantastic price. Keep up the great work guys. If there was an option for zero stars that's what I would pick. This place sucks. My hair is so uneven on the top. In addition to the awful haircut, when I showed a picture of some guys haircut that I wanted, I was told that I'd have to lose a lot weight to look like that guy who was in the picture. Personally this didn't really affect me, but it could've really hurt someone. Overall bad haircut and bad language in this place. Do not recommend. read more
