On September 10, 2025 I had a shockingly bad experience at Hobbytown USA on Montgomery Road, with…read moreRichard! For perspective, I have been a faithful customer of this store for many years, from when they were originally over on Union Cemetery Road Since the store moved locations, its selections have decreased immensely. And their knowledge base about RC aircraft has gone downhill since Bob quit. Bob was very knowledgeable & very helpful, always going above & beyond. And he is sorely missed. I stopped into Hobbytown USA, at their newer location on 12108 Montgomery Road, around 5:45 p.m. to buy some tools that I needed. Just before I went into the store I heard on the radio that Charlie Kirk, a Christian, conservative influencer, whom was a proponent of free speech & debate, was brutally shot in the neck, at his Turning Point USA Event at Utah Valley University. As I drove into the Hobbytown USA parking lot, just before I went inside, I heard the heartbreaking radio report that gave the devastating news that Charlie Kirk had died. I felt very upset & distraught as I stepped into the store... I went to the back of the store & Richard was the first person I spoke with... In my state of shock, & sadness, I asked Richard if he had heard the news. He said, "No..." I said that Charlie Kirk been brutally assassinated at the University of Utah! He said, "Who is Charlie Kirk?" I said a Christian conservative influencer with an outreach for college students... He said that he doesn't watch nor listen to the news... then he said, "TOO BAD HIS NAME WASN'T TRUMP!!! But, that's just my opinion". I felt very enraged with Richard's cold blooded & heartless response that was advocating for violence & assassinations against people whom he disagrees with politically. That's NOT the American way! But, I somehow managed to keep my composure & grab the tools that I needed... finished up & I walked away... I paid at the front counter & I left the store, knowing that I would NEVER shop there again as long as that hate filled man, Richard works there! What kind of despicable, deranged person endorses or rejoices about murderous assassinations of patriotic Americans trying to save our country?!! I have lost all respect for Hobbytown USA because of Richard's disguising comment about wanting President Trump to be assassinated. Nobody should advocate for violence & murder! Hobbytown's service had already sharply declined. I will NEVER shop at Hobbytown USA again. If Hobbytown USA is going to condone & advocate for political assassinations, like this & violence & murder, either they should take the USA off of their sign, because the USA is about freedom of speech, & free & fair debate... & about free & fair elections. Brutally murdering or assassinating your political opponent because you cannot beat them in a fair debate or because you know that your candidate can't beat them in a fair election, is something a despot dictatorship or a banana republic does! The United States is a Constitutional Republic & a limited democracy... Not a banana republic! So if Richard continues to work there, then please rename your store "Hater-town USA"... or "Hobbytown Haters" & put up the communist Russian flag, because Richard is an anti-American communist agent! It is NOT acceptable to murder someone just because their political beliefs are different from yours. If you ever stop into Hobbytown USA on Montgomery Road, in Greater Cincinnati... & he hasn't been fired yet, be sure to say hi to Richard & let him know he's a douchebag for endorsing the assassination & murder of innocent people.

In past reviews I have talked up Montgomery's Baseball Card Corner and Kenwood Towne Center's…read moreCardboard Heroes, but I just found a great store in Milford that is somewhat of a combination of the two. Power Play Sports is a must shop for any sports fan with their huge jersey and hat selections, as well as other clothing and sports collectibles. As far as jerseys go, Power Play has a ton of Bengals and Reds, but also a large selection of jerseys from other pro teams from across the country, similar to Cardboard Heroes. What I found really interesting was that they had all three Notre Dame football jerseys, including the "lucky" green ones, and an Irish basketball jersey. They even have Tennessee football jerseys and the Volunteers' black alternate basketball jersey. Very cool. Even if you don't like those teams, the fact that a store in Milford, Ohio has that kind of selection is pretty neat. With regards to collectibles, I didn't spend too much time looking at these, but they have a ton of mini NFL helmets, and a nice selection of baseball cards. Similar to Baseball Card Corner, they have a lot of cards with game-worn jersey pieces and autographs, although their selection of autographed cards priced at $5 does not include big name athletes. What was neat about their cards was that they had a lot of them organized by team, so you don't need to sort through boxes and boxes just to find one athlete, although I'm sure the Colorado Rockies/Kansas City Royals box doesn't get browsed through too often. The walls on the left side of the store are covered with hundreds of hats. If you want the typical UC or Ohio State or Reds, for example, the selection is good, but they have a ton of others to choose from like Lids/Hat World. Also on the left side was a ton of jerseys and clothing for children, making it a great store for fans of all ages. Whether you want jerseys, jackets, basketball shorts, headbands, license frames, flags, baseball cards, or even Chad Johnson's biography (it is 50-percent off, by the way), Power Play Sports is the place to be. Despite its name, it's not the real destination for hockey fans, but if you like baseball, basketball, and football then they have a ton of great stuff.
