Returned to Maui Brewing in June 2026 after several great visits in April. To keep it short, the food was gross. We were served a pizza that was so rigid I could not even bite the crust. The waitress seemed so indifferent to us. Didn't have this experience at any other restaurant while visiting Maui. Not visiting this place next time I'm in town.

Went back the next day because we loved it so much. This was a Thursday at 4 pm. The place was packed this time with a 15 min wait. Our waitress, Jen, was good but got busy at times and didn't check on us as much as the waitress we had the previous day. We ordered the same Hunter pizza and this time I got a POG Hazy and it was delicious. The beers and pizza have been a hit for us.

Maui Brewing Co. offers a number of places to sit and be entertained or eat. They have indoor and outdoor seating that is airy and comfortably. They have a beer garden area where you can play a variety of games. We came to hear our friends perform. They were great and the crowd loved them. I ordered the fish tacos. They tasted bland and needed a lot of help. I ordered extra chips to eat the leftover guacamole. Our server was cool. I never got his name. We look forward to returning in the future. Thank you

I guess I'm playing catch up with my reviews from Maui. This is a huge spacious brewery in Maui with food options and delicious beer. I was really excited to try this place as I've had Maui Brewing beer, but haven't actually had the opportunity to check out their actual spot. If you're into beer, this is a good spot to hang out for a few hours on this island.

    The kids loving the performance.

What a fun night we had at this place. First, I recommend making a reservation as they are very popular. We used Open Table. Our group got seated right at the edge of the outdoors and had a clear sight line to that night's performer. She was awesome and it was great to see the parents take their young kids up to the stage to entertain them for a little bit. For drinks we had a Virgin Watermelon Mojito, a Virgin Pineapple Coconut Slushie, a Vitalitea Cold Brew and a couple of Hoppyakalas. A good start! Our food choices were just as good and were actually brought out pretty quickly despite how absolutely busy they were. Our server was pretty attentive and we had a very good time.

Let me start of by saying I've never eaten at a restaurant that has invested in a Flowater, only time I've ever had water from that 7x filter machine was at a Fairmont so let's just say the water was amazing. Sadly from there meh on everything else. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, as well as a musician was wrapping up as we got there Saturday around 730pm. We ordered the ceasar salad add chicken, kids grilled cheese, and a kale salad. The ceasar was probably worse ceasar we have ever had. Not sure the dressing was actually ceasar and there was water at bottom of salad, they didn't dry off the lettuce. The chicken was rubbery. We did ask they to take price off chicken off and they comped us the salad. The Kale salad was ok but they didn't even cut the kale so some of the pieces were huge and I had to figure out how to cut them in a round bowl with a dull knife. Overall place was a bit loud as well. Lastly the parking is beyond wonky. The parking lot is below the building so first turn and at night I was like how do I get into this restaurant, how about a few signs?

Maui Brewing Company in Kihei was such a fun stop during our trip -- the vibe alone makes it worth it. The space is big, open-air, and super lively with that perfect island energy. Between the music, the crowd, and the overall setup, it's definitely more than just a brewery -- it feels like a full experience. We started with the MBC nachos and the huli huli chicken bites, and both were solid. The nachos were loaded and perfect for sharing, and the chicken bites had great flavor with that sweet-savory glaze. For mains, my husband had the guava BBQ pork sando, which was juicy, flavorful, and probably one of the standout dishes at the table. I went with the chicken bacon ranch sando -- really good, super satisfying, and packed with flavor. My son ordered the black rock burger and cleaned his plate, so that says everything. The beer selection is exactly what you'd expect -- tons of options and a great place to try something local. Service was friendly, but you can tell they get busy, so things moved a little slower at times Still, I'd absolutely come back. The atmosphere, drinks, and overall experience make it a must-visit in Kihei.

Giving it 4 stars because they charged me $4 for one slice of avocado. Outside of that, this was a solid experience. We had several rounds of drinks and took some to go. I ordered a Caesar with avocado but only got one slice. We also had cheese pizza which was small but tasty. We also shared an order of truffle fries that were so good! The live music was amazing

This brewing joint is huge. They have outdoor seating and plenty of seating everywhere. They do a banging business. There are probably 25 seats at the bar alone. The staff is super friendly. The kid I'll bring the food out has a smile on his face every time he brings food out. Like he's saying to himself here comes your food. You're gonna love this. They have a happy hour from 3 to 5 PM two dollars off all beers that are draft three dollars off craft cocktails 50% off. Select selected appetizers. A pizza which is about a 10 inch round is 14 bucks

    Butterfish dish

I went here a few months ago and had the butterfish. It was amazing and clearly prepared with attention. This last week I returned because I had to have the butterfish again and was extremely disappointed! The green beans were not cooked all the way and stringy and it looked like the fish was haphazardly put onto the plate. It was a completely different dish! I will say both visits we had awesome servers who made sure our drinks were full and were kind. The live music also made the evening even more enjoyable!

We stopped by for dinner without a reservation and were quoted a 45-minute wait. Totally fair for dinner time -- and we didn't mind at all since they have a beer garden where you can relax while you wait. Even better, we were seated in about 10 minutes! Our server was efficient, attentive, and helpful in walking us through the dinner options. We ordered the calamari fries, kale salad, and a pizza. The calamari fries were delicious -- a must if you're a calamari fan. The sauce paired perfectly and really brought the dish together. The pizza and salad were solid, though more on the classic/traditional side. The mac brownie was the standout for me -- rich, indulgent, and absolutely worth saving room for. Of course, I forgot to take photos of everything except dessert.

My husband and I enjoyed visiting while on our honeymoon. The atmosphere was relaxed and the staff was awesome. We both got flights and enjoyed every beer we tried. We also got pizza and a salad and thoroughly enjoyed that as well!

Stellar brewery with great beer and food. The facility is amazing with solar panels, fermented outside, and a beautiful patio with lawn games. Don't sleep on the spirits and slushies either.

Ask the Community - Maui Brewing Company

Do they have a lunch offering?

Speaking for the Maui locations, they do. Their food quality is good. Sandwiches, salads, fish and chips, nachos and fries. Beer is excellent as well as environment.

Are there TV's here to watch any games that are on?

Yes, there are large tv screens in the bar and dining areas.

Is this a good place for a "no-host group of 30 people (handful of kids)?

They have a large play area, but it looked like kids were with adults(kids not on their own) lots of outside tables but you might want to contact them about that large group size.

    Do they take reservations here?

No the don't. They have a weird system of you give the your name and you wait for an hour and then the open the gate for you then you have to try to find a table on your own. The go stand in line to order. Hint go to the bar to order there is no… Read more

Aloha, No outside food is permitted. Please check our website for menu offerings, including weekly specials.

    What time is happy hour?

    3:30-5:30 daily!

We have a group of 10, what's the best time to come for dinner and not have a long wait? And between Kihei and Lahaina, which has more space?

Definitely Kihei. The bar and yard area is pretty large and they have live music around dinner time. I would say if you're there by 4:30, you wouldn't have a hard time getting a table for 10 for dinner.

What time is your live music?

Aloha, We have live music nightly from 6:30-8:30.

    Do you take reservations?

Aloha Elaina, We do not take reservations, but offer ample seating on a walk-in basis.

How's there new menu looking like all of it from drinks to eats?

    The craft pizzas are great!

When is the happy hour and what's included?

Aloha, Thank you for your inquiry. We have Happy Hour daily 3:30-5:30pm. Please visit our website for more information https://www.mbcrestaurants.com/kihei/

Do you allow dogs in the outdoor seating area?

Aloha Kevin, Service dogs are permitted at MBC Kihei.

Can any growler be filled or just Maui Brewing growlers?

We can fill any growlers up to 64 ounces. It does not need to be an MBC growler. Cheers!

Will there be the return of the skillet cookies?

Sorry I don't know about that. But if gave them a call they probably could answer that?

How much for a whiskey sour?

Aloha, A whiskey sour is $8-$16 depending on your choice of whiskey.

Can I send craft beer back to mainland?

Breweries usually can't ship to homes due to various local and federal laws. You can, however, mail yourself beer (though technically the USPS doesn't like it). You can fit about 2 six packs of 12 oz cans or 8 16 oz cans in a medium priority mail… Read more

Hi there, yes the last time I went which just in March of this year kids were allowed to eat and be inside the brewery.

We ordered three large pizzas: regular cheese, margherita, and sweet kalua ($75). While we waited, we sat outside on the patio, where there was a live musician who was really good and entertaining. The staff was friendly and checked on us to see if we needed anything while we waited. It also seemed like a chill bar where people could grab drinks and hang out on the patio. We took the pizzas home, and they were delicious. Our favorite was the sweet kalua. It was not overly barbecuey or sweet, but actually pretty savory. The margherita pizza was good too. In general, their pizza stands out because there is not too much crust. It was not crispy, but instead airy and on the doughy side. The reason I am giving 3 stars instead of 5 is because one of our group members found a blonde hair baked into his pizza slice, not just sitting on top. That was disappointing, especially since the pizza itself was actually very good.

6.22.26 UPDATE We…read moreoriginally had a disappointing experience due to slow service, limited attention from staff, and the lack of air conditioning during our visit. However, the owner took the time to respond and explain that the entire shopping center wing was experiencing cooling issues and that the restaurant was dealing with significant staffing shortages at the time. While that doesn't completely change the experience we had, I appreciate that the owner acknowledged the challenges and responded professionally rather than dismissing the feedback. One observation I would offer is that, as a customer, it was difficult to tell who was serving tables. I noticed several employees in Pint & Cork shirts moving around the restaurant, but only saw a couple of servers actively covering the dining area. It's possible some staff were assigned to bartending or other responsibilities, but from the guest perspective it gave the impression that table service was understaffed while other employees appeared unavailable. I still think there is room for improvement in the flow and logistics on the floor, but I appreciate the owner's willingness to engage with feedback and explain the circumstances. That being said, I would be willing to give the restaurant another chance. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATED REVIEW AFTER OWNER'S RESPONSE: 6.21.26 I appreciate the response. It's telling that you addressed the air conditioning, disputed the gender of an employee, and questioned whether I was even there, yet didn't meaningfully respond to the concerns about service, timing, attentiveness, or food quality. If a customer leaves with a poor experience, the question isn't whether they perfectly recalled every detail. The question is why they left with that impression in the first place. I suspect future readers can draw their own conclusions from both the review and the response. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Probably the most disappointing dining experience of our Hawaii trip. We specifically asked to sit indoors because we wanted a break from the Maui heat after spending the day outside. Unfortunately, we quickly realized there was no air conditioning, making the indoor seating barely any cooler than outside. The restaurant also felt severely understaffed. It took around 10 minutes just to get a Diet Coke, and every time I asked for assistance, the woman working at the register seemed to defer the request rather than help or find someone who could. Meanwhile, some employees appeared more interested in chatting than helping customers, while only one or two staff members seemed to be working the floor. I understand restaurants get busy, especially in a tourist area, but the issue wasn't just the wait--it was the feeling that customer service wasn't a priority. As for the food, it was nothing special. I ordered a steak that had a nice smoky flavor, but it arrived well done and overcooked. The rest of the meal was average at best and definitely not memorable enough to make up for the service issues. Between the lack of air conditioning, slow service, inattentive staff, and mediocre food, this was one of the few places in Hawaii where I genuinely regretted spending my money. Considering the location at The Shops at Wailea and the prices being charged, I expected a much higher level of hospitality and execution. There are far too many great dining options in Wailea to come back here.
