It was raining that day, so my friend had to change her initial plan of having an outdoor ceremony to an indoor one, but the staff still managed to make her wedding smooth and beautiful. The reception was good, with tasty food, little pastries, and a cute cake. Toward the end of the reception the staff did seem a bit in a hurry to get everything cleaned up (probably because it was a Sunday,) but overall the service was good too. Seems worth checking out if you're having a small wedding or gathering.

We booked back in January of 2012, when the place was under a different management than it is now. We had a contracted sign and paid in full. Yet the new management tried to change our contract. They no longer did center pieces so we had to provide our own. They tried to tell us that they could no longer do black table cloths. The new manager him self was not very friendly. He seemed irritated that we were using our own cater even though we paid an extra 100 for using an out side cater. They new I was very upset with there service so they promised they would try and do everything they could so that nothing else goes wrong. But the day of our wedding the people who were there didn't seem like they knew what was going on. $500 worth of flowers for my bridal party were dropped off at the reception hall and someone put them in the fridge. Meanwhile when my ceremony started no one knew where they were. They didn't find my flowers until after my ceremony. I would NOT recommend them. Planning a wedding is stressful enough, without having to worry if the people that are running your wedding are going to do what they were paid to do.

From the first initial meeting to the send off the night of, everything was perfect. Having a parking lot that our guests could park in was the icing on the cake, with Salt Lake being so difficult to find parking and all. The table runners that I ordered were not the ones that arrived, but luckily they matched! The event coordinators were so apologetic and assured me that the order was right on their end. When they originally booked, they were given a price, paid the quoted amount, and had a final phone call **10 days before the wedding to confirm that everything was in order**. Then, just **three days before the wedding**, they received an email saying that the employee who had given them the quote was new and had made a mistake, and they were now expected to pay an additional $300. I'm sorry, but an employee's mistake in providing a quote should not become the customer's problem three days before their wedding. Thankfully, the venue, which lists Cheers & Swizzles as a preferred vendor, stepped in and helped resolve the situation. Unfortunately, the problems didn't end there. The bartender provided for the wedding repeatedly mixed up drink orders throughout the evening. There were only **two alcohol choices**, so this should have been a pretty straightforward assignment. Yet guests ordering whiskey and Coke were repeatedly given vodka and Coke instead. When you hire a professional bartender for a wedding, you expect them to be able to correctly prepare two simple drink options. Weddings are stressful and expensive enough without having to deal with last-minute pricing issues and poor service from a vendor you trusted to handle an important part of the evening. The venue was wonderful and stepped in when the pricing issue arose, but based on our experience, we would **not recommend Cheers & Swizzles for a wedding or other important event**.

They handled literally everything from set up of tables, chairs, linens, decor, the bar, and the music to the lights and the catering. The price was incredibly fair and Gabriel worked with me to give us an event we could afford within our budget as a small, local healthcare organization. Gabriel is so sweet and their team was fantastic. The staff was so professional and they had literally everything we needed. They took care of everything for us. I can't say enough good things. I highly recommend this space for a corporate celebration, meeting, or gathering. Gabriel is fantastic to work with & the food was delicious! I had a room full of happy staff.

The two bigger ones (space 1 & 2) on the south side I would recommend for wedding receptions, quinceaneras, and a larger area for bigger entertainment footprints especially for dancing. The smaller one (space 3) on the north side is great for graduation parties, baby showers, birthday parties, and smaller events. I was in space 3 a few weeks ago for a graduation party as the hired DJ. I am a mobile DJ so I usually do small private events and parties so this area was perfect for my setup. They have plenty of lights already setup and a kitchen in the back for drinks and food to serve. There are tv's to use and separate gendered bathrooms in the back. They could have more outlets readily available for entertainment as they were hard to find for my equipment. No worries, I came prepared with extension cords. This place is older but is out of the traditional neighborhoods so noise complaints were non existent; you couldn't even hear the Banda at the quinceanera in space 1. Overall I would gladly pick up another gig here. I don't know how much it cost to book this venue, but if you are looking for a rustic place for a gathering, you should check it out. It looks like a really old building, and the outside was a bit muddy because of the weather. With the wood floors everyone was clomping around noisily. They had a really cool upstairs area where the kids could play. There was also a really nice dining hall, that was decorated with cute items. The parking was no problem. And they let the kids play outside on the porch. All in all this is a good location for a gathering. Or seance. Whatever your poison is.

The location is just as close to SLC as anything else but it's nestled off in a corner that's a lot quieter and more relaxed than a lot of the city stuff. As a photographer, I wasn't paying for anything at this venue, but I looked into their prices which are very good for everything you get here. I'd feel comfortable calling the Coulter House, the best value of any venue I've ever shot at!
