Talk about small town, Maunaloa is a perfect example. Everyone knows each other, a general store, post office, movie theater, school and church are within walking distance of each other.
This is where my mom grew up, and where my parents tied the knot. Maunaloa Town was our first stop after leaving the airport, and it was nice to see that alot of things have been amazingly preserved all these years. The sight of my parents wedding reception was still intact, we also visited the church where they got married, and The table under the tree next to the post office was still there! This table was our little hangout, and I have vivid memories of this old man who would always be at our hangout either with a dollar bill or a stick of gum for us all the time. There would also be other old men who would come around give us a taste of old school Primo Beer in the chubby brown bottles just to get a kick out of our reactions!.....Ahhhhh the memories of Maunaloa....ALOHA!!!
