I think the course provides a fantastic overview of the intersection between neurodiversity and sexuality. I especially appreciated learning a bit more on how taking into consideration sensory and neurological needs can help to foster a satisfying intimate life, how kink has created an inclusive space for many neurodivergent people, the use of different therapeutic engagement methods for clients with ADHD, and the message that clients with intellectual disabilities have the same desires AND capacity for intimacy and connection as everyone else. Also, the fact that a real-life relationship between an able bodied and disabled person was featured was important, as this is sadly often not represented in everyday media. I would recommend this program to anyone looking to deepen their knowledge of sexuality and neurodiversity. My only constructive feedback is that I felt there was some repetition regarding the definitions of neurodivergence, ASD, and ADHD. I am seeking treatment for OCD, specifically ERP therapy, which is widely recognized as the gold standard, evidence based, clinically proven treatment for OCD. The International OCD Foundation and virtually every reputable OCD specialist supports ERP. This is not controversial. This is not experimental. This is basic, established care. The first thing she told me? "ERP won't work." Red flag number one. Then she went on and on bragging about how many traumatized people she's supposedly "cured." (Yes, she actually used the word cured.) Since she still hadn't answered my question, I calmly and politely asked again: "Do you or anyone in this practice provide ERP therapy?" She then stops and asks me, "Do you have a degree?".... I was stunned, but I immediately understood what she was doing. I said yes. She asked, "In what?" I replied, "Not psychology, since that's clearly what you're getting at." This was her way of talking down to me, implying I'm stupid, and positioning herself as superior because I dared to advocate for myself and ask for an evidence based treatment. Let me be very clear: I am not asking for some risky, experimental therapy. I am asking for the most standard, well researched, and widely recommended treatment for OCD!!!! The fact that this person dismisses ERP and then tries to intimidate patients with credential flexing is both ignorant and dangerous INSANE It is genuinely disturbing that this is a place serving people who are already struggling. Instead of being supportive, they are condescending, dismissive, and are bullying. It gets even better!!!! When I called back to speak to the receptionist (Mike), he told me: "How about you drop it and forget about it. She isn't a good match for you." Incredibly unprofessional. Wish I somehow recorded these calls to show how insane their behavior is. Save yourself the time, money, and emotional damage. Do not give this place a single dollar!!!!!! After I signed in and waited a few minutes, the same snarky "lady" called my name and demanded my ID, insurance card, and a credit or debit card. I was obviously taken aback by the demand for a credit or debit card and asked why she requested those. She stated it was the doctor's policy to keep a credit or debit card number on file for unpaid charges. I immediately said no and left. After reading some of the more recent 1-star reviews, I'm so glad I left without giving that horrible creature at the reception desk my card. Sounds like this place is in the business of making fraudulent charges.
