The owner was super helpful and spent quite a lot of time explaining to my friend and I how to tell the difference between a designer handbag and a fake handbag. The first trip I found a wonderful, almost new Eileen Fisher jacket that is now my favorite thing to wear (so many complements) and a super soft, high end loungewear set that has been perfect for chilly spring nights. This past week I found a gorgeous blue dress that fits great (hard to do) and a lightweight black blazer, both of which are great for travel. A lot of us are fluffier since Covid so having a place where you can find high-end clothes that fit well is amazing, and the fact that it is also an honest consignment store is a dream come true. Torrid, Loft, Lane Bryant, Dillard's and Nordstrom sweaters, jackets, dress pants, athletic wear, so many items with tags still on them. I took Stella and Dot jewelry in the boxes and Clark's and Sperry shoes, new in box snow boots, winter boots, and coach sunglasses. I had submitted only new, never worn or no sign of wear items. My sister had also donated, under her own account, loft, lularoe, torrid, Dillard's,, boutique, and Ann Taylor, Sperry,, etc. Fast forward to January when my sister pops in to collect our sales. Nothing. The woman who waited on her said neither one of us had $1.00. Zero balance they said. So you are telling me that absolutely nothing , none of the new with tags, name brand, never worn items sold in this store full of worn, out of style, Walmart branded items?? There is absolutely no way I believe this because I'm very much aware of the junk they have their store filled with and no that comparatively our nice items would have had no problem selling.

I am a trans man…read more(female to male) and have been out to everyone in my life for 2 years and exclusively use the name Hayden. I arrived at the interview wearing men's clothes and no makeup. I am decidedly androgynous with short hair and a very masculine presentation. My email address uses my former (legal) name and he felt the need to taunt me about this. At the end of the interview (which was full of contrived and redundant questions and facts all the way through) he shuffled through his documents saying "there's another name on here, I saw it" to which I responded THREE TIMES "it's incorrect." Mind I was measured and composed as could be, and I stated it was incorrect three times as he shuffled through, but he did his utmost to find my deadname on the documents (only place it was on there was my email address, I did not specify this was my name at all in any other fields) and proceeded to (with a SMIRK) say the incorrect name out loud, TWICE. I told him once again it was incorrect, and he smirked again and ended the interview with a positively condescending "thank you for coming in Miss Hayden." I didn't react; I was in shock. There is no way to report this to corporate, either, so I'm stuck desperately messaging Kohl's socials and posting this Yelp review. Steve is the only man who works in that store (besides prospectively me) and he's the manager. Hope to get some closure or justice on this but I suspect it won't happen and he'll continue to discriminate. And also mind, I tried my best to interpret this as anything other than transphobic harassment but the smirks and insistence to say a name he knew would upset me says otherwise. Genuinely at a loss here.

I was in Fayetteville for a wedding and the dress I brought for the rehearsal dinner was too thin for the fall weather, so a friend recommended I check this place out. I didn't have a lot of time and I was skeptical because in my experience, similar boutiques rarely carry sizes and styles for curvy girls but Liz, the owner, was welcoming and extremely helpful. I enjoyed champagne while we pulled items for me to try on and after a couple of tries I found the perfect dress that I will wear a million more times. On top of that, all dresses were 25% off! They just opened about a month ago and the store is very cute, I love the decor and the layout feels very welcoming. Another impressive thing about 59th and 9th is that they have a plus size section, which I have never seen at similar style boutiques, but is much needed. As I was headed out Liz recommended I check out another new business next door that was having an open house, so not only was she helpful to me in her store, she is a good neighbor! I definitely recommend supporting this new business in Fayetteville. Thanks for all your help, Liz! I got a ton of compliments on my dress at the rehearsal dinner!
