Connectivity was surprisingly solid given the remote location near the Mexico border. While our hotspot struggled to get even two bars, the park's Wi-Fi came through just fine. A few tips for travelers: * There's no ice machine or propane refill on-site, but the nearby market carries both. * STOCK UP in Alpine before heading down--gas, propane, drinks, and food are all pricier here. * Most RV sites include picnic tables and fire pits. We stayed here four nights for Spring Break. We enjoyed the site, it was clean and quiet. The kids loved the heated pool. Everything we needed was here. The laundry facilities were fine...I just wish they had coin machines as the office was closed so I had to drive to the hotel and buy rolls from the front desk. Wi-Fi was mostly good. A little spotty. Cell service was 1 bar, but it worked. It was nice that we could charge stuff back to our "room." It was a great stay! Thank you. read more

Great place to stay and camp! Our first time to Big Bend and we stayed here. It's definitely the premium RV park in the area. Close to Bug Bend State park and fairly close to National park. Wake up to a beautiful view and end the evening with a rosy sunset - this RV park has a place with a view. The amenities are nice as well. The people are friendly and are willing to help with whatever you need. Although we had access, we didn't visit any of the connecting resort. We didn't have time. The campsite was plenty. read more

We stayed here recently for our spring break. The park was nice. My kids had a blast on the hills behind the park. They also enjoyed the dog park. I really wish that everyone would abide by the 9pm lights off time. EVERY night we had neighbors that kept all their trailer lights on way past 9pm. It was terribly annoying. Also BEWARE that a PULL IN spots is not the same as a PULL THROUGH spot. We sat by the fire every night and watched people arrive late only to get to their spot and realize it was a pull in and there was no way to get their truck unhooked and turned around once they pulled in. Several ended up turning their whole set up around and running wires and hoses from the opposite sides of their trailers to the pedestal. I'm sure to be a fly inside those trucks would have been interesting. Another thing to keep in mind is that the National park does not allow dogs on the paths. ALOT of the the RVs had dogs howling and barking during the day since they had to be left behind. The store is nice and has a large selection of camping products. When I first booked Google maps showed 20 min to the national park and 20 min to the state park. What I didn't realize is it was actually 1.5 hrs to the trail heads we needed to get to so beware the area is vast. There is a gas station next door that sells gas and diesel. This place is great! Quiet time & lights out time is at 9pm so you can stargaze. The sunsets are unbelievable & I highly recommend splurging on the outer edge, corner spots like #51. The view is amazing! The pool is great. There is rock fire pit. The office is fully stocked with camping needs. Internet is fast & was reliable. RV side has personal showers, but they do not have hot water and they aren't very clean, heads up! Highly recommend. read more

We stayed here for 5 nights and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone. The communications prior to our arrival and the information provided by staff when we got there were great. This park is in between the state park and national park which worked great for us as we visited both. Also there are some trails right around the park so you don't have to drive to reach them. The wifi works fine, not super fast but we didn't expect a lot since this area is quite remote. The clubhouse and pool are very nice. We didn't use the laundry but saw others in there and it's a nice amenity also. You can set up an account to enjoy the amenities at the resort across the street. We did not do this but we did visit the bar (Thirsty Goat) and it was decent food with a nice view. We also did the zipline for which I wrote a separate review. We saw a lot of dogs and the dog park is a good addition. Overall from what I can see this is the nicest RV option in the area. read more

We stayed at Maverick from October 7th thru 10th (three nights), and were very pleased. The hookups worked great. The people providing services were terrific. Having a dog park and really nice clubhouse (with poo) was very nice, and the bathrooms/showers were really well cared for. We enjoyed being at the Lajitas Golf resort and ate at the restaurant. Thank y'all for another great stay. We've been coming to the Maverick ranch every other year for 12 years. They have been continuing to improve the landscape and adding fire pits and tables to all of the sites. The only problem is making reservations now is more difficult because they've become more popular and the phones are fairly busy all of the time. There is even a little dog park with shade. Fabulous staff helped us when our awning got picked up by wind and broken. (We should have known better) We love having access to the Lajitas resort. Provisions and Gift Shop are stellar. The Thirsty Goat saloon provides fantastic entertainment. The park itself also has activities and music. read more

Everything you'd want in a high-end TV Resort and more. Yes, it's the desert , and it can be hot, and very dry, and very prickly, with sharp thorns on almost every tree, bush, and shrub, but it's stunningly beautiful in its own way, and there's a lot to do down here, especially in the cooler months. And, Big Bend National Park is nearby too, and it'll give you a whole new view of the Desert Southwest. read more

If you're visiting Big Bend State Park and National Park, this is the best base camp. It's located right in the middle of both parks. We got a concrete and level pad. We also have the access to all the amenities at Lajitas Golf Resort across the street. Their WiFi was spotty and phone service in this area generally not great. They have a lot of trails right next to the campground. The best part of this park besides the view is the phenomenal staff. Very accommodating and welcoming. 10/10 would stay here again. read more

I tried booking a site a few years ago at Maverick, and they laughed when I called a few months outside of Spring Break. This time, I made reservations 8 months out. When we pulled up, I was immediately impressed. The office gals were super duper friendly, and offered advice for local restaurants. Our site was nestled right against the mountains, with amazing views. Unlike a KOA, we had plenty of space, and privacy. Firepit, and full hookups, were a plus. At $59 a night, I don't think that was too bad. They also have a very nice clubhouse, which features the following: -pool, with chiller -laundry -gameroom -clean bath/showers The location is technically in LaJitas, which is adjacent to the resort. Amazing views, great location, and a friendly staff. We will definitely return. read more

I camped here for about a week. Campsites are very nice and I love the common room where the showers, meeting room etc are. The laundry room is nice. I liked the instant messages of weather etc. the only thing which I really didn't like are the showers since the water is cold and never gets hot. The bathroom was not cleaned on the weekend. The boy and I pulled the Bigfoot trailer here for 1 night and 2 fantastic days!! We hiked, biked, and camped under the big/ass Texas Sky. This RV spot is perfect. We usually do State parks and National parks but real glad we stopped here. The grounds are awesome! Cool things every where. The location is super! Staff was fairly responsive, but a busy time for them. We're coming back. 1 hour away from Big Bend Chisos Basin campground. Lots to choose from re RV parking too. The club and area across the street were so cool. Just like a little town. We went cowboy shooting and was pleasantly surprised how much damn fun that was! read more

This is a WONDERFUL place to stay! The views are amazing & the staff is even better! The rate is about $49 per night. There is an awesome pool, activities (extra money), hiking, a state park & a National park close by. We went zip lining & horse back riding - it is well worth the money! 6/5 stars if possible!!! DONT stay here,,,, lost electric , food, couldnt use showers , laundry, etc 3 times in 2 weeks....for a long amount of time. We asked Desk at both resort and rv park ....was told ice machine were down ( which made sense) until "but you can buy some ice" was added. This place is quite expensive to stay at... 13.00 for smokes.... Gas over 5.00 ...activities are approximately 125 and up per person.Not to mention there is no stores ( Persidio is 1.5 hours away for a dollar general)( only the one general store the resort owns in which everything is over the top expensive. After paying sooooo much to stay first being treated nicely after, asking for a 3.00 bag of ice to put a in cooler ,,,, shouldn't be too much to ask. The pool and the grounds were amazing!!!!! We would definitely recommend. Nice general store close by for supplies if needed. Friendly staff. Reasonable price to stay. The lodge with the shower facilities was clean. My kids enjoyed playing ping pong and hanging out on the sofas just having some downtime when we weren't exploring Big Bend. It was a very quiet place and we felt really safe there. It was just a 30 minute drive to the National Park each day and I thought it was worth it for full hookups and the nice restroom facilities. The staff was friendly and the check in was easy. We could not give it a 4 or a 5 because the bathrooms were filthy 24/7. There were empty shampoo bottles, globs of hair, mud and simply filth all over the shower rooms. We used it throughout each day and it never improved. We were also quite disappointed that our site did not have the cable hook up that is advertised on the website. Not every site has a picnic table either. Not every site has a fire ring either. It was a beautiful setting and we will likely return, but it could certainly be improved. read more

My review would be higher in rating except WiFi sucks. I can barely access Yelp to write this. I am at RV park clubhouse where you'd think there would be a strong signal but that isn't the case. Don't stay here if you are dependent on Internet to work while traveling. The RV park itself is nice. We had to ask multiple times to get a picnic table by our space.
