I will be calling to speak with management of this location after my experience this morning. Predatory sales practices. Went in this morning with a slow leak in my front drivers tire and a nail or screw visible in my rear drivers tire. After 45 minutes they took my car back and began looking. Within 10 minutes they tell me I need a new tire because they couldn't patch the screw location (they hadn't yet pulled the screw). I asked "why"? It was an in tread object on tires with under 16k miles. Their response was it was not a patchable spot and I need a tire. Because it was holding air I said "no" and asked if they found anything on the front slow leak, they said "no"... I don't even think they looked since I wasn't buying a new tire. They pull me out and I leave and go to another tire shop (Creamery in Chalfont) Within 5 minutes at Creamery, they have my wheels off, have the screw pulled... and guess what... NO LEAK, it didn't even puncture the tire... Mavis was going to sell me a new tire for one that literally didn't have an issue. Within another minute they found the leak in the front tire and had it repaired within 10. I used Mavis for the better part of a decade for tires, and never again. Incredibly predatory practices. This location should be embarrassed at this all. If I could leave negative star ratings I would to help prevent others from wandering in their door. I had an appointment scheduled for 9am for a tire replacement and oil change. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I arrived I could tell it was busy - I watched multiple individuals come in and attempt to see if they could have work done without an appointment - the man behind the desk, Richard (perfectly nice) kept explaining that they were really busy and their vehicle may not be gotten to until the next day - I felt relieved I scheduled an appointment.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Finally, at 11:30am, I waited in line and asked for my appointment to be cancelled and for my keys back. Richard seemed surprised, and asked what was wrong. I explained to him that I had been waiting for 2 and a half hours, and my car was still in the parking lot untouched. He apologized and went to the garage bay where I could plainly see a group of 5 guys who were not working on any vehicles and seemed to be having some sort of huddle. Richard came back with my keys and said that they could pull it into the garage now and it could be done in thirty minutes - I asked him to clarify if it would be done in thirty minutes or if they would start it in thirty minutes - he thought about it and said maybe forty five minutes. I declined and asked for my keys. Abington location is poorly managed. Appointments mean nothing. Lie to you when to call to check status, then bump other customers when you complain. We made an appt the night before for this morning for a tire replacement. Brought car in and waited 20 minutes . Was told it would be an hour. Went home. Called after 2 hours to check status and was told it was being worked on currently. Came 30 minutes later. Car is still in the lot with the donut on it and window left open. NOW they are pulling it in and working on it. Other frustrated customers are waiting with the same story. I hope the work is done properly, because now I don't trust them. Had purchased tires here before, so decided to see if they had what I needed for my old "Mom-Mobile" -- a well-running 2000 Toyota Sienna. Asked my son, who drives this car, to get in touch to see about a new set of tires. They didn't have them in stock but said they'd order them for his 2:30 pm appt. on the upcoming Friday afternoon. At 2:00, he wisely called to see if they were ready for the appt. They weren't. Alert!! Stay away! Went here for a deal on tires, was upsold on a bunch of services that sounded good at the time. Came in with no mechanical issues, when I left the lot car started to overheat. Immediately took the car back and they couldn't find anything wrong. Immediately went to our local mechanic who found a coolant line had been damaged. In addition, after a rubbing sound was noticed, took it to our local mechanic again, who found that wheels were loose! So my wife and daughter were driving around on the turnpike with loose wheels. I've gone to this location many times for all our cars. However, it started to go downhill a year ago. Even if you've made an appointment, you'd end up waiting over an hour or MORE before they even took your car in. The last time I was there, I was buying 4 new tires. After it was done, something was wrong with the tires. We brought it back and waited an entire day for them to fix it. When we got it back, the entire left side of the car was scratched from front to back, causing over $2,000 in damage. Of course they denied it, and we ended up filing for insurance, which increased our rate. I will never bring my cars there again. Use them at your own risk! read more

Dropped my 2020 RAM 1500 in for a routine oil change and tire rotation. Mavis recommended rear brakes after inspection. I told them to go ahead with all of the work. They supposedly ordered parts for the brake job to do the work the following day. The truck sat for two days - crickets. When I called they said they can't figure out how to do the breaks because there's an electric e-break. Good thing I called, I guess it would have sat there for a month. For the record, I can put the truck in maintenance mode from the touch screen in 30 seconds. It's in the operating manual in the glove box. These guys are professional idiots. After the truck sat for two+ days they didn't even get the oil change done. I guess they couldn't find the dipstick. When I picked the truck up the mental midget manager tried to give me an invoice for the tire rotation or inspection or some nonsense. The kicker is my son took his car to this location for a tire repair and they stole a nice Riobi tire inflator that was in the truck, so they are idiots and thieves to boot. I always had a good experience with STS, but Mavis is a hot mess. read more

Overall, my experience at Mavis tire was good. After calling, they were able to give me a better price on the tires. In addition, the guys were able to replace tire pressure monitoring sensors for me. The guys were honest about the wait I would have. They were also able to communicate when they hit a snag with one of my sensors. Everything worked out fine though. I think I will return again in the future. Yes, there is Wi-Fi. I took my Subaru Crosstrek in a couple of months ago to get my tires replaced. I was quoted appropriately (plus charged extra for labor), tires where in stock, and the installation took half a day. I dropped my car off in the morning and picked it up around 2pm. 4 star service. a couple of days ago I get a screw in my tire and I go to replace it with a spare. As I'm taking the nuts off, one of the nuts looks like it was forced on (the other 4 were fine). It took me 10 minutes to take off this last nut and the bolt breaks clean off. After inspecting the nut, it was definitely forced on during the installation. (See pics) They fixed the screw in the tire for free (with a plug) and charged me labor to fix the broken bolt (which was majority their fault) After I inspect the job, they replaced the bolt, but kept the same nut on after forcing the metal out. At the end, they just threw everything back into my trunk without putting it back where it belongs. They just threw everything in my trunk. They tried to find a place for the spare underneath the carpet (no spare holder, just emergency kit, tire iron, and jack) and took everything out and threw it on top. Ridiculous and LAZY (imagine how they would treat your real vehicular problems) Overall, customer service is not great, they didn't own up to their mistake, but they got the job done. Made an appointment to replace two tires, the person I spoke to said they have the specific tire in inventory, quoted a price (that includes mounting). My appointment was at noon. Then all down hill from there. I get there at noon and the salesperson/tech pulls up my order and gives me a different price, I'm like whatever it's only $25 more so I agree to leave the car and pick up at 3:00. At 3:15 (on my way there), the tech calls back and says they don't have the Michelin tires but have Coopers that are cheaper. I said are you just finding this out now??? Tech responds with a snarky attitude "well we only have 1 person working I just found out we don't have the tires" Um sir, that sounds like a management/supply chain/operations problem. I get there to pick up the car and say I call earlier would've been nice. A different guy says "we had 17 appointments and we're getting to your car" but acted like it was my fault they don't know how to operate a proper business. What a joke! read more

Bad experience at Mavis in Abington! I bought my tires there so my son went back when the tire pressure warning light was on. They replaced a valve stem and said the light would go out. It didn't. They also claimed the front axle needed to be fixed or the car could have a serious accident. Fortunately I didn't pay to have that repair done. When the tire pressure warning light did not go out by the next day, I went back. This time I was told the battery in the sensor was the problem. I left and went immediately to Subaru for a second opinion. After inspecting the car, the Subaru mechanic told me the tire pressure in all four tires was at 70 psi instead of the recommended 30/32. The Subaru mechanic removed the excess air from the tires. He also examined the axle and determined there was absolutely nothing wrong with it. I called the manager at Mavis and explained the situation. He insisted Mavis did not fill the tire to 70 and did nothing wrong. He could not explain the extra tire pressure so he first denied it and then shifted the blame to Subaru. After this experience I won't be going back to Mavis in Abington! read more

I took 2 different cars in for brake work recently and was very pleased with the service for both cars. For the second car in particular, I'm very "price sensitive" since it's a 1996 "beater" and it's one repair bill away from the junkyard. I know I had a problem with the front brakes dragging, so they looked at it and gave me an estimate to fix it. Mavis worked with me on coming up with a less expensive fix that kept me from sending it to the junkyard. A shout-out to Tom for helping me keep Old Betsy on the road! I'll also add that their brake repair prices seem a little lower than Firestone, which I have used a lot in the past. That's even after taking advantage of Firestone coupons to knock down the price. read more

Update: two cars two incidences. Be careful. STAY AWAY!!! Issue 1: I brought my daughter's 2003 Acura in for a PA inspection. They told me it needed brakes all around. So I told him I would pick up the car put the brakes on myself and return. I replaced the brakes and brought it BACK. Then they told me that it needed gas lines because they were corroded! They also said the front caliper pins were seized. I asked why they didn't tell me that originally and they said that they just saw it. I took the car back to fix the pins in the front brakes. When I lifted up the car I realized that all the metal fuel lines were pulled down in the center of the car and they were leaking fuel profusely. There is absolutely no way that the car went into their shop that way! I was literally under the car for hours before I brought it back! The amount of fuel leaking and the amount of distance the gas lines were away from the car I would have noticed and smelled it within a second of lifting the car previously. I called to ask the transition manager, what happened and why they pulled down the gas lines like that, his exact response was they needed pull on the lines to inspect them! Literally the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard in my life to break something and pull it away from the car to inspect it. Meanwhile it is several thousand dollars for Acura to fix these lines. The car is unable to be driven. I tried to speak to customer support but their phone system keeps dropping. And I have yet to hear from the regional manager. I'm going to speak to the state inspection board. And PA Attorney General's office Issue 2: I brought a Ford F-150 2018 in to have tires mounted. On my way into the place I checked the tire pressures of the old tires to make sure that I matched the pressures when they put the new tires on. That same transition manager comes into the waiting room to tell me that I need all new tire sensors. I told him that they all worked on the way in and he told me that maybe it was a battery issue with the sensors and that that can happen. When I call bullshit oh, because I know what I'm talking about, he back down and did a total Gaslight routine trying to say that he said something different. The sensors still do not work and they also mounted the wheels in the wrong position, with regard to pressures. I've been going to Mavis for many years and thought it was a great place for the money. I enjoyed the last crew and management that was at this site. In my opinion the manager at this site is completely toxic oh, and Just Smiles at you and feed you bullshit. I witnessed another incident with another customer while I was in the waiting room. Cars are not fixed. Cars are not working. Nothing from customer support. Just had a horrific experience here, brought our minivan in for a steering issue, 7 days, 3 separate trips misdiagnosed twice, Overcharged for things we did not need, and did not correct problem !! Had to get district mgr involved, terrible service, uncertified tech's AVOID AT ALL COSTS !!!!
