Absolutely one of the worst experiences I've ever had at a car repair/tire place. Made an 11am appt the day before for the simple thing of looking at my flat tire and seeing if it could be patched, if not I'd buy a new tire and have it put on. Well, I get there and 15, 30, 45 minutes go by. I politely ask what the situation is and get a "we're just busy will be soon. 60, 75 minutes go by I ask again and get "oh we haven't looked at it yet." Are you kidding me? It's a flat tire. Well, 2 hours now and told it was a blow out and need a new tire, so I get the prices and pick one. 2 and half hours now....I'm paying and get charged an extra $50?! I ask why, for putting it on. Now I'm about ready to explode. Manager and employee were clueless. The best part is while I was in there for 2.5 hours...3 different people freaked out screaming with their own situations and deservingly so. NEVER GO HERE. After limping my car over with a very flat tire, they couldn't even be bothered to even LOOK at the tire. And wanted me to just leave the car overnight. Ok 1. I don't live in the area. 2. I had MY TODDLER IN THE CAR. This isnt the first bad experience with Mavis so I should have known. For the record by the grace of god there was another tire place across the street. I went to this place to replace four tires on my car with new ones. The car went on the left and manager comes to me and tells me I need rotors and pads. The brakes in my opinion can go for another 2 to 3 thousand miles, but I agreed for the job to be done. I get home and after a simple inspection of the tires, I find one lug nut and four metal tire stem caps missing. Drove the car less than 100 miles and the front calipers froze. I am told that the brake fluids were bled the first time and debris in the lines caused the freeze. I spent an additional $600 because this shop doesn't know how to bleed the brake lines professionally and I was charged for bleeding the lines again. I was also told by the assistant manager the brake lines will be for free for all my troubles but after looking at the final bill I was charged. A total of $1800+ was charged for a mediocre unprofessional work and over charging. Finally, I received the mavis synchrony card and my name was misspelled. Had an appointment for a tire replacement today at 11 with an email confirmation. I drive all the way there, and tell the girl named ERIN at the desk my name and explain why I'm there. She looks at me like I have 10 heads and tells me "that tire won't be here for days, we have to order it" No apologies, no professional demeanor whatsoever. I tell her how horrible it was that I drove all the way there for nothing and she says nothing. Disgusting. I will never go there or take my husbands car there ever again. The best experience I have had in years. When I came into the store I was very surprised with the promptness and eagerness of the staff. I was first assisted at the front desk by Rob, who was professional, courteous and thorough. He identified what was needed, and immediately set the staff to work with no delay. After a few minutes though I received a phone call to tell me that they would be able to save me hundreds of dollars by just repairing my current tire. Not only did I appreciate this cost cutting effort, but the courteousness and promptness of the entire staff was very, very impressive. They went above and beyond all expectations. I do not live in Long Island, and may never see these guys again, but each of them impressed me in one way or another and I was extremely satisified with their performance. I would gladly recommend this repair shop to anyone I know. Steve, Keith and Joe all made a special effort to help me with any questions I had for them and went above and beyond the call of duty. I wish I could leave zero stars. I took my car to get my tire replaced due to a flat. Looked in my trunk a couple days later to discover my bin of personal items that had been in my trunk was covered in dirt, there were tools left in the bin, and they had broken a personalized keepsake pen in its beautiful engraved wooden and glass box that someone had made for me as president of my new nonprofit company. I called the store, not to ask for a refund, but simply to inform them. The man was extremely rude, refused to acknowledge fault, commented that his guys would never leave their tools in the car, and "assured me it wasn't his store's fault". When I showed up to my appointment time I was told that it would take hours for my car to be ready and was told that everyone is busy working on other cars and couldn't work on mine. I had a nail in my tire I needed plugged. I called ahead to make sure they would be able to take my car in. The woman who answered the phone stated it wasn't busy at the moment (10am) and to bring the car in. I dropped my car off at 10:15. At 12:30 I called to check on the car and they stated- we are bringing it in now- we will have it ready in 20-30 minutes. I came at 1:15 to find out my car had never been brought in! I needed a simple tire plug which takes approximately 5-10 minutes. I've used mavis in the past but this was unacceptable. Instead of being apologetic, the man who helped me was agitated and unapologetic. Stating he had 6 more cars that came in and he took them before mine. When I questioned why he told me to come in then- he was very dismissive and rude. Sadly, my tires are under warranty so I'm forced to come here despite the poor customer service. After waiting 30 minutes, they plugged the hole in the tire unfortunately when they went to fill air in the tire- they pulled off the valve stem. This happened because they used pliers to take off my aluminum valve stem cap which pinched it onto the valve stem more. Which meant I had to wait longer for their error. They tried to blame my aluminum caps but I watched them grip down on the cap with pliers- of course it's going to get stuck. read more

Had a 12pm appointment today to have my oil changed, rotate my tires and fix 2 leaking tires on my passenger side. I dropped my truck off at 11 thinking maybe they could get to it sooner and took an Uber back to work. At 3 I called to check on it and they told me it was just pulled into the garage. At 4:30 when I showed up the only thing they had done was start the oil change. They than checked the tires for leaks but told me they could not find any and that maybe it was from the cold temperatures. I told them they are definitely leaking as I need to fill them once a day for 3 weeks now. The women at the front desk told me they could reseat the tires but they don't think it's leaking, she than told me my 80k mile tire with 30k miles on it should be replaced. I laughed and asked her to show me where they were bad. She made up a few things and than when I asked point blank if she thought my tires were bad changed her tune a bit. I asked they take my truck out of the garage as I did not want to partake in the charade any more. As I was leaving I asked if they rotated the tires. Erin told me yes, but it comes as no surprise she outright lied about it and my tires were not rotated. Magically when I got home I found a leak in one of my tire within 2 minutes in the dark with a flashlight. As a consolation prize to my endeavor they did not charge me for the oil change but I would have much rather payed for that and the tire repairs as now I have to find another place to do all the things I made arrangements for today. Typically I have things done at my families shop but I figured something so simple could be done close to work. Clearly I was very wrong. There was also a man in the waiting room who informed me he had been there 3 times and they were finally installing the tires he came 2 other times for but they neglected to call him to say they were not in yet. Went here for tires for my pilot, had brakes and rotors done, they didn't tighten the caliper bolt correctly, can't believe my wife didn't get into a accident, calling corporate is useless after you pay they don't care, when I went to AutoZone for bolt, cashier said people come in complaining all the time...if I could give negative stars I would. The manager on duty was not welcoming and when I explained what I needed he was more concerned with leaving even though they didn't close for two more hours. I was given an AFTER TAX total price over the phone and when I picked up my car they charged me $200 more than discussed. When I received my car back it was swerving to the left bad which is strange because one of the things I had done was literally a wheel alignment so the last thing it should be doing is veering to the left or right. And before I had work done, it barely veer at all, I was only told I need a wheel alignment because my tires were shredding, so the car veering like this is a completely new issue that only occurred after I visited this shop. After noticing the new issue, I returned to the shop, told them about the problem and asked again about the price discrepancy and was told that tax on $700 is $200 which is why I'm paying $900, insulting my intelligence... because tax should be around $60, not $200. Finally he admitted that he just gave me the wrong price over the phone, which makes me wonder if I only had $700+ at the moment since that was the price given, would they have kept my car hostage until I gave them $900? Anyway, after admitting the machine they use for wheel alignments is not accurate and messes up sometimes (he really said that) they fixed my car free of charge and I pick my car up again. Now, 2 weeks later and my car is swerving to the left again but worse this time. I paid these people $900 for a whole bunch of work, including 2 wheel alignments over the course of 2 days. They have my $900 but didn't fix my car. Yes they gave me new tires but the alignment is worse than it was before I visited the shop. People cannot just throw away almost a grand like that. That put me into a financial hole that I cannot get out of right now as I am dealing with a ton of other personal financial issues and now I am out $900 at the worst possible time... and an unfixed car. I expect this from a small mom pop shop but not from a shop like Mavis. I would never recommend this shop to anyone. The one star rating is only because we can't not pick a star. I was quoted a total price of $57 on the phone, and I went in for the work. At the store, I was told that it would be $94, not inclusive of labor. I arrived at 7:55 for an 8 am appointment my vehicle was not taken in until nearly 9:05 am. Had two tires replaced and an existingly programmed tire pressure sensor put back in. Wasn't told the fee until after the repair to "reprogram" the tire pressure sensor. Through my experience with cars and those repairs you do bot need to reprogram the sensor to the vehicle unless it is a new sensor. Then they said there was two services provided but only one of them was needed/agreed to. Still working on getting my money back for the repair that was not needed. Also they lied to me to get me to shut up and pay. They said the sensor needed to be waken up. That is a lie the sensor was 100% fine and did not need an work done to it but install the damn thing. I would not recommend to anyone unless you are getting just tires because those are hard to fuck up. read more

I ordered my tires in advance AND made an appointment. It took three hours to have tires installed and an alignment. Turns out they didn't balance one of my front tires correctly and I went back there to have it checked. They told me there was a 2 hour wait for that as well. I won't ever be going back there. Addendum: Shortly after my poor experience at Mavis, I went to an independently owned tire shop, who checked the balance on my tires. They stated that every tire was out of balance, likely because my Ram 1500 rims were placed on the balancing machine with the rim facing in, which is incorrect. read more
