First of all, the food is delicious, and the portions are more than enough for two people, even with ordering for one person. I like the atmosphere, decor and music . It takes me back to m6 childhood, remembering where I was and my age, when certain songs are playing. On this particular afternoon, Christian was our waiter. He was very friendly, courteous, and professional. We had an issue with an item on our order and had to return it. He said he would get the manager to come over and talk with us about it. Steve, the manager, came and talked to us about our order. He agreed with our assessment, as did the chef in the kitchen. After polite conversation, an apology that was above and beyond, and a nice adjustment to our bill, we finished our delicious food. We'll be back! read more

Long timer customers of the Bitters location in SAT so we were super pumped to come here. First, food. Spaghetti and meatballs. Good noodle texture. Infamous NY style tomato sauce. Meatballs were a bit mushy but still hearty and flavorful. My eggs were cooked exactly how I asked, and the chicken / french toast combo is hard to beat. But like any new place: The team is still definitely training up and getting a rhythm down so we were def understanding about their mishaps. I am saying this as we did have a mishap that the manager and our server handled very well. Our order was delayed for quite some time and they apologized, and comped us free fries or onion rings. We chose the onion rings, and super crispy/fresh/well coated. Other than that! Service, food, vibes, and decor is on point! We love that there's modern but familiar vibe from their other location. We've eaten at the original location a number of times and decided to try this one since it is new and closer. The positives - much more space than the original. We were there on a day that wasn't hot outside so when they asked if we wanted to be seated outside with fans, we agreed. Apparently the fans were not working properly - after several attempts they couldn't get them all working and we asked to be moved inside, which they accommodated. Our server was fairly new, but he did a good job. He took our order and moved us inside. Unfortunately, he seated us at another server's table and that server was really confused. Eventually it all got figured out. The menu is enormous - almost too many choices if that's possible. My wife tried the Broadway Deli Dip which is a hot sliced roast beef, melted mozzarella on a hoagie roll, served with au jus. The sandwich was very large. The flavor was very good and the au jus had a good flavor without being overly salty. I tried the New Yorker which was a hot roast beef, bacon, melted mozzarella, horseradish sauce on toasted hoagie roll. Again, it was very large. There was waaay too much mozzarella on the sandwich. The sandwich itself was for the most part flavorless. I love horseradish but this was more of a sauce and lacking in flavor. I would not order this sandwich again. I asked for a 1/2 fries and 1/2 onion rings instead of a full order or fries or rings and our server said I could do that for a slight up charge, which was fine. When someone else brought the food, the brought a full order of fries and a 1/2 fries and 1/2 onion rings. When I mentioned what I actually ordered, the person bringing the food said they would check on it - we never heard back. Eventually we just asked for the check and saw the charge for the 1/2 and 1/2 as a full side order and not a sub or up charge. We chose not to spend more time over $5. The fries were okay. The onion rings were very good - breaded and fried perfectly. So - we will probably give them another shot in a month or so and see if there is improvement. read more

Nice addition to the Cibilo food desert. Thankful to have a restaurant that is full-size and able to provide delicious food for the area. Indoor and outdoor dining is available. Located close to the Santiko theater makes it an easy spot to pick up a meal before or after a show. We popped by for brunch on a weekday. Thoroughly enjoyed our food. Server was efficient and knowledgeable. They seem to work well together as a staff. French toast and omelettes were delicious. My only disappointment was that they did not have 2% milk for my latte. There is a large meeting space that can be used for parties and events. Catering is done through the corporate office. There is also a bakery, coffee shop for to go items. read more

My first impression of this restaurant definitely gives off classic diner vibes! The music was extremely loud, and the tables were packed very close together. a couple that was being seated next to us actually asked for a different table because they felt it was too cramped. I guess that's part of the New York style experience! The customer service was fantastic. Both the hostess and our server were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Our server gave us recommendations and made the overall dining experience enjoyable. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to how good it looked. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak and it had very little flavor. The onion rings were just okay. My daughter got the kidsmac and cheese, which was a huge portion, but it also lacked flavor. My husband and 2 toddlers decided we'd eat out for breakfast. We arrived here about 7:45am on a Sunday and were sat immediately. It was definitely not crowded, just about less than half the tables were taken up while we were there. My husband and I shared some French toast and made it a "platter" to add the eggs and bacon. I met my friend here before we went to paint. Our server Natalia was a bubbly delight. She took care of all we wanted and she did it with a smile. We talked about the Spurs and other intriguing things. Now the food was on point! I had the French toast and an order of sausage. The syrup was nice and warm which provided even more enjoyment. I finished everything and was very satisfied. Hell's Kitchen played on screen and I enjoyed being on the receiving end of the kitchen. We have been here twice already. The first time we came for happy hour and appetizers. Second we had breakfast. The food comes in an abundance. The sizes are definitely huge and I say it is more than enough to feed 2 people per dish. Unless you have a teenager. The food is delicious so far. I plan to come again and try more drinks during happy hour. Our choices have been great and not disappointing at all. Service has been excellent even if it has been busy. They have been very attentive. The diner is nice and spacious. Definitely a new experience for breakfast for us. I'm looking forward to trying the pastrami sandwich in the future. Finally got to have me some delicious brunch at our new Cibolo location. I was seated fairly quickly and chose to go to the outdoor patio. Our server. Christine was very nice and gracious even though our food took 15 minutes longer, which we didn't mind because the restaurant just recently opened up. It was a lot of people there yesterday, anyway the food came out piping hot. Everything tasted great and we had a great time. The location is located right next to Santikos movie theater in Cibolo. The food here is large and in charge. Their food is very good. It is a bit high priced however, when you see the amount on your plate you understand why. Our waiter who called himself the bald guy was an excellent and an engaging waiter with great customer service and a great attitude. I appreciate also that they hire individuals with exceptional abilities. This is a very clean fun place that would be great for any occasion. Our waitress, Peyton, was great. She was very friendly and helpful. The food was decent. Everyone at my table enjoyed their food. I wasn't too fond of my buffalo chicken sandwich but I loved the fries. The chicken that they used were tenders I believe. It seemed as though the breading was thicker than the chicken. The place had a fun ambiance, but the acoustics were difficult - it was so loud you could barely have a conversation at the table. looking at the reviews for the cibolo location, i was worried, bc i love the original location. food was on point. potato hash that came with the benedict was well seasoned and cooked perfectly. one of the most difficult things is to poach an egg for a benedict, but these were on point; creamy in the middle and solid white on the outside. i think service was a bit slow, as they are getting their rhythm, but overall well done. the ambiance keeps the old time feel of the original, and has open style seating inside and out. i didn't have the room this time, but can't wait to go back and get a piece of the carrot cake and some ice cream at Melvin's that's attached to the restaurant read more

I was raised in NYC. I've eaten at several New York deli restaurants. Max and Louie's is excellent. It's as close as you can get to eating in a Bronx or Manhattan deli. It's not Kosher but the food is great. My wife had a pastrami sandwich with onion rings. I had a corned beef sandwich with mashed potatoes, gravy on the side. We ordered a knish. I know Knish is doubling down on the potatoes but I hadn't eaten a knish in years. I think they used green onions and probably a little sour cream in the dough. Even the coffee was good. MEH, overloaded with bland meat. For $20 I'd much prefer a sandwich I could easily bite and a size that isn't overwhelming and impractical. it's like they stuffed more lame meat in as an apologize for it being weak. (this is the second time I've had this and from 2 different locations but with the same MEH result.) They mixed up parts of the order and the staff didn't seem to care much. Excellent food, service and drinks! From the moment you walk in you are warmly greeted and made to feel welcomed. I had the salmon eggs Benedict which was delicious and the portions were not skimpy. The espresso martini was perfect. This area has been needing a good old fashioned sit down establishment where you don't feel rushed and you don't have to pick up after yourself. I was so excited for a Max & Louie's to open up here in Cibolo, yet so disappointed when I finally made the time to bring my family to this location. I ordered the Rigatoni Alla Vodka pasta and it came out dry, cold and flavorless. The reason I got this specific dish was because I saw the picture here on yelp, however, what I received did NOT look like the picture. Looks can be deceiving, even with food. My daughter needed a refill and her refill came back with no ice and rather than the sweet tea she requested, it was unsweet and room temperature. The ambiance was nice, it's brand new therefore it's always beautiful. But I'm not the eating the restaurant, I'm eating the food, and the food was terrible. read more

I had lunch today and from my experience previously worked for a Jewish deli I was very disappointed! I ordered a matzo ball soup in the beginning I ate it and it lacked dill weed and putting noodles in the soup is a disappointment! I ordered a potato knish also very disappointed what's with the puff pastry? Then I ordered a hotdog with kraut and frozen onion rings that hurt my tooth. Guys! Everything should be homemade...what's with the frozen stuff? And the wait staff was horrible! I had to ask my waiter which was a guy 3 times for a to go box!? Really!? He pre judged a single person eating vs a family eating. Based on getting a tip. The atmosphere was too loud in there. Next time I will be trying breakfast you can't go wrong with eggs. read more

Ordered a Rueben and the wife ordered Pastrami. When the server brought them to us I thought we were in for a treat. Didn't happen. The flavor was great no complaints there, the problem was the meat was tuff as shoe leather. Not satisfied with their product. The place is kind of pricey. Portions are about the same compared to comparable restaurants. French toast is great, Belgian waffle was a bit hard. They actually knew how to soft scramble eggs. The breakfast sausage was kind of big and started to overwhelm me. The syrup was weird as well. Being the first time there give it a three star because of the cost vs quality is not there. TBH IHOP can do for way less if wanting breakfast. read more
