Leigh Wood Cycle route (between 1 - 2 hr)…read more This is a great cycle and depending on your level (I'm a beginner so the less hills the better for me), you can make it more challenging if you choose by reversing the loop or adding on extra bits, etc. We make our way across the suspension bridge (great view to start you off) and take a right into Church Road which leads us into Leigh Woods. We choose a route that takes us to Paradise Bottom and turn right and make our way into town along the gorge bank. It is amazing how you go from city and people to trees and not a soul - it is so quiet, beautiful and just such an easy escape. You will see cows grazing at a nearby farm, scatterings of the odd house, a wood carved Dragon bench, squirrels and many more forest friends.

They have children parties with cold and hot drinks and food. This pool was opened in 1989 and it has a refurbished fitness suit. It also has a cafe; tennis courts/badminton courts, squash courts, community suit, a bar, a crèche, junior activities, parties, changing rooms, toilets, showers, lockers, and vending machines. I always loved going here as a kid and loved to spend our jumping in the pool and swimming many lengths and splashing about in the waves. I keep having this place appear in my dreams, but I'm never in the pool I'm often walking around the place, or in a queue, or a room training/fitness, aerobics, and yoga. It is a fantastic local pool and it's great for all tourists and anybody really, children will just simply love it. People over the age of sixty years old go free; all ages can go in for between the prices of £1.50p - £3 during the hours of 10am - 7pm.

For adults there's aerobics, fit-ball, circuits and the very latest craze - Zumba (a dance class based on a combination of rumba and salsa).

This place trains some truly awesome gymnasts, and may even provide competitors for the 2012 Olympics. Anyone who gets a chance to learn or develop their gymnastics here is really, very lucky. Gymnastics definitely dominates the Cardiff Central Youth Club; however it also offers Judo and Weight Training.

BOK is one of the biggest orienteering clubs in the country so if you live nearby why not swing by one Thursday evening 7.30-8.30 and you might find you actually really enjoy it. There's an expert session between 8 and 9 which is a fitness challenge as well as putting your navigational skills to the test! The early session is really fun for families or groups of friends, the latter one for the serious Dad's and competitive sons/daughters!

Jo and Clive Bailey have been launching these beauties in our skies for many years now. They own a fleet of fine balloons in which you can take off - even champagne flights, well la-di-dah. Thinking of a unique marriage proposal? She (or he) will be swept off their feet, quite literally. :) They fly from Mid March until October, and thermals are best for flying 2 hours before dawn and 2 hours before dusk. If you spot a colourful balloon above the Bristol skies there's a good chance it might be a Bailey Balloon. What's lovely, is you experience the whole shabang, you don't just turn up and jump in and out, the whole experience lasts 3 or 3 hours as you help help prepare the balloon for flight and find out about all the internal workings.
