This is a good place to go if you're on a karaoke budget but otherwise I'd recommend literally anywhere else lol. Positives: they allow outside food in, cost effective for a large group, & easy to reserve rooms. Negatives: there is a VERY aggressive security guard who harassed you if you're just existing in the space outside the studio, 21+ only if you forgot your ID forget it you aren't getting in there, & rooms are outdated and it shows. I don't karaoke much but when I do i go to Max's. They have a huge song selection and the best part is that they have happy hour. Their happy hour is $6 per hour per person which is super cheap. Also if you decide to bring in food like I do then you have to pay $1 more which isn't bad. The guy is super friendly and helpful. You're able to make reservations through the phone. This place is so shitty now. The security guard harassed me and kept accusing me of being under 21 when I'm almost 30 and wouldn't let me bring my water in and made me dump it in the trash can. This place WAS tolerable when it was a BYOB model where you could just rent the room for cheap and bring your own stuff. It was the only thing that made it worth going. Now since they have a keg and serve beer.... they don't let anyone under 21 go in and they also do not let you in at all if you have your own drink. This place is pretty legit if you're looking to karaoke. Although a bit costly since it is located in the Asian shopping market, it's a pretty cool place with a decent vibe. It's always fun to eat Korean BBQ then karaoke here after making aquick stop at daiso for some Japanese iced coffee. But the business itself is a bit dated in terms of building and rooms. Yes they do have an iPad system which allows you to select songs which is probably the newest thing they have. They have portable air conditioners in each room because they get so hot between the TV, bad insulation, and body heat. It does kind of take away from the entire experience but it's manageable. I would say it somewhere between $20 to $25 a person and they are very strict on headcount and what kind of non alcoholic drinks you take into your room. If you do want alcohol you have to go to your car since they no longer allow you to bring it in. Overall it was a good time but there are only individual bathrooms Men and women so you might have to wait if someone is taking a long time. read more

It was a huge production and when we got there it was extremely fancy. There was an overwhelming smell of perfume but otherwise the place looked top notch. They wanted 190$ for 40 minutes plus a drink minimum on drinks that were expensive even for LA. We were going to give up when I noticed this place. Literally last minute. While this place isn't fancy, the rooms are clean and come equipped with everything you need to have fun. Came here with my family for a quick, simple karaoke session. If this is your main goal, then you will get what you are looking for! We came prior to 6pm, so got the "happy hour deal" which was $7 per person/hour. Once after 7p, the rate goes up by a couple of dollars per person. We came in on an early Friday evening, and was immediately assigned a room. They gave us two mics, told us to download the app to pick songs, and left us alone to belt our lungs out. There is a drink menu that we didn't partake in as we were going to go to dinner afterwards, however because they sell alcohol now, all guests are required to be 21+. Their song selection was very wide - we were able to choose from English pop songs, to old time Mandarin classics. The only thing was that their internet would give out once in a while so the song would buffer - not a total buzzkill. The interior is clean, but a bit old. Bathrooms were ok as well. They also validate parking, which is KEY. If you are looking for a no frills karaoke lounge, and expect that as such, then this place will suffice! Great value for sure. read more

Parking: there is a parking garage attached to the business structure. Max is located on the second floor of the building. Atmosphere: it's a simple karaoke studio. There's nothing too special about it. Dark room. No other decorations. The TVs were pretty small. Sofa chairs are ok. They clean after each session. The karaoke system has a WiFi connective feature. So you don't need the book and enter it manually in. You can download the HealSonic app and submit your song requests there. They also have their entire song catalog in the app. It's very easy to download and use. Although their music selection could be better. It seems a little limited compared to other karaoke places and not as updated. Value/Price: the price is pretty decent. Plus they're open till 4am on a weekend. That availability is great when you want to keep going out when places close. Although they should really sell alcohol. You USED to be able to bring your own alcohol but now there is a fine if you get caught doing that. You're NOT allowed to bring alcohol anymore. Also there's a list of other fines for inappropriate behavior. First I've seen in a karaoke place, makes you wonder what other people do here for them to make this list haha the one I want to point out is 'intercourse'?! They do have security cameras in the room and it's viewable to everyone in the entrance. Overall thoughts: it's a cheap basic karaoke place to go to and that's open late. I would recommend going if you want to have a late night activity to do after going out. If you go past 1am, there's multiple entrances to get in the building but some of the doors do not open.
