Last time I went in to get Harper's (with the winner of ANTM on the cover) for a friend overseas, I ended up chatting to the guy about Australia's Next Top Model for ages...which I don't actually watch, but I winged it pretty well! There are books available here too, last time I visited I spent a good 10 minutes leafing through a book about the life and designs of Coco Chanel, of course I didn't buy it because it was $50, besides, I'd already read it hadn't I? If I need a pen I just go in and use one and then leave, they should really monitor people like me! But, considering these guys don't, that makes them 3 stars in my book! There are little gifty things available too, take a squiz on your way through to the bottle shop.

I was told they didn't have any. I asked if they had sold out. I was told that no they had not sold out that the bakers decide to bake whatever they feel like baking each day so you never know what products will be sold in the bakery on any given day. I made 3 more attempts to purchase the apple and custard tart on 3 different days before I gave up. I guess the bakers didn't feel like baking them on those days. What a strange way to run a bakery. Most bakeries stock a staple of the same items so that customers can go every day if they want to purchase their most favourite baked goods. It was like each day I visited I had to find out if that day would be my lucky day to have the privilege to purchase an apple custard tart. Since each day wasn't my lucky day and I left in disappointment I gave up and won't be returning again. Such a shame because their products are great but it's pot luck whether they feel like selling you your favourite baked goods that day or not. I found their prices to be quite high but I would have returned anyway if I was psychic and knew which day they would be selling apple and custard tarts.

Oh there are plenty of other things, but it's all about the stuffed animal toys that are sort of related to "Hello Kitty" but not quite HK brand. You can get little tiny ones, medium sized ones and very large ones... and they are all cuddly and filled with love. Well probably they're filled with something far more hygienic than actual love, like cotton or wool, but the idea is that they bring you love. There are pens and cards and plastic gifts and a variety of items to purchase in the shop but it really is about the stuffed toys and the little booths where you can have your photo taken and immediately printed out on stickers! Very Korean! Very fun! I use it to find little gifts for the youngsters in the family because everyone of a certain age loves a smiling bit of plastic or a stuffed toy, even if it's the size of an egg.

It's very pink and girly and fluffy, when I walked into this store I felt about 12 years old again! hearts and flowers and clouds as far as the eye can see! not to mention the hoards of novelty printed stationary and pencil toppers. And stuffed toys, your normal teddy bear type and the bug eyed doll kind too. You can get your photo taken in their sticker booth. Basically you step in there (it's like a passport booth), pay about $7 and pose for about 5 shots which are then processed onto stickers! so remember to get your peace sign ready guys! I'm not sure what you're supposed to do with the stickers after that though. My favourite pastime in this store is musing over the little plastic figurines lining the shelves, you know, wondering what their purpose actually is and why the bunny rabbit figurine also has ears AND antennae. I always shop at house of health for honey and peanut butter... they package them up in different size chinese takeaway containers and sell them at bargain basement prices.
