Update: The owners rectified the situation and apologized. I appreciate the honesty and integrity of the owners. They changed my oil this morning, a little less than 90 miles later my oil light comes on. Immediately pull over and there's oil everywhere. Walk around the car there's oil on the back end and passenger side of the car. I called maci lube and he advised it could have been an issue with the o ring on the filter, then said to drive my car to him. I said I can't because there's clearly a significant oil leak. He told me to go to a local place and call him in the morning. So I pay 125 to be towed to a local place where they see there is no oil filter attached. I call maxi lube back and he said he tightened the filter with a wrench so there's no way. He said he's not paying for the tow and can refund my initial oil change for "condolences". Go see him in person after my car is fixed and admits it could have been him but he's only willing to refund the initial oil change. Zero out of ten stars. Do not recommend. read more

This shop has gone beyond the normal in helping my sister with her car problems, even drove to where she was broke down to help her one time, and gave her a ride home while car was being fixed. They gave her a fair price. I have only used them once and had a starter replaced and they did a good job and fast, I plan to use them for all of my mechanic needs in the future. Everyone there is friendly and professional. I highly recommend this company. As a small town, Big Sandy is lucky to have a good & honest mechanic shop like Maxi-Lube., I am grateful that they are here. read more

I came in for a car inspection today. I pulled in the bay. Let me add that I was not told anything prior to entering the bay. The employee checked my lights and looked at 4 tires and told me I failed the inspection. I then told him thanks I'll get tires and I'll just get this completed in Winnsboro where I live. The employee tells me I'll call the police officers if you leave, you owe us seven dollars and you must come back here to get the inspection finished. I told him this is unacceptable because I have not received an inspection and I don't live here. They never even drove the car to check the brakes. This is a rip off. He lied about the inspection being finished. The police were taking too long so I decided I would go to the police station myself, as I passed the gas station the police pulled me over. Big sandy police forced me to pay, or I would go to jail over seven dollars. They are wrong because they are supposed to do an investigation first. They would have found out that the inspection was never completed. I will never go back to this place. Also, Mr. Maxi is an amazing man that I have done business with, but he has not owned this place for 3 years. After the first 4 months of purchasing 4 new tires my rear tires had lost most of the tread. Prorated 2 rear tires with a second 4 wheel alignment cost another 150. A year later all 4 tires warrantied and a 4 wheel alignment cost $112.70. Not bad, aside from the $80 4 wheel alignment that was needed 2 days after taking it to another shop that showed me the alignment was way off. After busting a hubcap $100 for a new set and a TMPS tire valve $70 I will never go there again. read more

Have done business here for 9 years and was great when Maxi was involved in the day to day business. Now that he is not the service has in my opinion gone to crap. Brought in our sons vehicle for brakes and one of the rear calipers didn't even get a bolt put back in and the other was hand tight. We paid to have it done at another shop as he left the area. When we told Maxi's daughter who is now running the shop there was no concern. Told her we wanted the labor refunded she said just bring the vehicle back so we can fix it. Said there was no way as it was 5 hours away. She did pay the additional amount we had to pay to get it fixed but wouldn't refund any labor they did even though it wasn't done right. She was told by me that we would no longer do business there. There again was no concern. read more

Pitiful technician work. Tech told to get steering box i did, Then I brought my truck by told him I had the steering Box and to put it on He then lifted my truck found a Pitman arm that was bad replaced it did not replace steering Box charge me $425 Told me drive the truck and see what I think and If I thought it still needed the steering Box he would put it on no problem he called me yesterday when it was finished granite 2nd day I brought it to them He charged me 200 extra dollars for somethinkg he originally was supposed to be done that he told me I needed this is the worst shop in the area do not bring your vehicle here read more
