This is a great spot to celebrate some of the KC pride we're known for, and is made up of local artisans' goods from all around KC. My go-tos here are for small kids and babies as they have some quality, unique stuff. Naturally some stuff will fly off the shelves quickly during peak KC moments, aka playoff runs, but you're likely to still find some fun things. I would love some more headbands, socks, etc. for my girls so just something to note. They have tons of gifty things like candles, dog bandanas, sweatshirts, and lately lots of Taylor + Travis themed stuff. I think there are a few locations around KC but with this one being closest to me, it's the one I'll go to the most. Keep doing your thing!

Throw in some cool home accents (I was so close to nabbing the martini olive throw rug) and some other kitschy gems and you have a great spot. Parking is west side street stuff, so you're on your own. The staff is super friendly and always making suggestions, and their playlists are phenomenal. Pricing is on par with the area and like shops, but give yourself a little treat now and then. But give that south wall a gaze, because their sandwich sign social voice is seriously top shelf. It's obvious from the second you walk in that she takes great care curating the items she sells. The way the items are arranged makes it fun to browse, and she never pressures you. Often there are only one or two of something, so what you see changes every time you visit and there is always something new to tempt you. Chris has exquisite taste, and she is clearly committed to choosing high-quality products that often are locally made. She knows about the owners and artists, which really adds to the shopping experience. I've brought someone with me each time I've visited. It's a pleasure to introduce people to this charming store. They also have premade bouquets ready to go if you don't feel like building your own. The flowers all give countryside rustic vibes like gardenias, dahlias, and roses, and the prepotted plants come in stylish pots. Prices I saw ranged from about $25 on the low end up to $200 for larger arrangements. I made myself a bouquet with geranium leaves, tea roses, and tuber rose, and it turned out really cute. That said, the service unfortunately took away from the experience. When we walked in, the young woman working did not greet us, ask if it was our first time, or engage at all while we shopped. After I selected my stems and waited at the register, she did swap out a broken rose for me, which I appreciated, but there was still no eye contact or conversation. What stung was watching her interact warmly with another customer and even ask about what brought her in, while I was never acknowledged. For a place that feels so special, I was hoping the customer service would match the atmosphere. I am knocking off 2 stars for that, because it left the visit feeling disappointing. I would love to come back and hopefully catch a more engaging experience with whoever is working that day.

Many years ago when I lived in KC, I used to visit an Indian restaurant on the corner. Since then they've renovated the whole strip of shops - incredible job! Verdant had great candles and an array of unexpected household and gift items. The inside is very curated and stylish. We randomly decided to buy a stuffed rhino for the children we've yet to have.
