Experiencing both locations, I enjoy the newer location because parking is easy, less populated area to navigate, and has a "cooler" studio space without direct sunlinght which will be nice in the summer months. I am a regular here for massages and acupuncture . The Maya staff is the best I have found. They are worth my commute from North Seattle (though I try to book during traffic lulls). They are so good that their gift certificates are my go-to choice for gifts. This is an overdue review as Dr. Lin is no longer with the studio. I saw Dr. Lin for acupuncture and cupping in 2017 and she was amazing. She was gentle and calming and made sure to explain the process and the benefits of each service. Additionally, the staff were nice and professional and made each appointment pleasant. I have enjoyed both my yoga and massage experiences at Maya. The space is beautiful, tranquil, and clean, and the staff are engaged and incredibly invested in the client experience. Prices seem reasonable and consistent with similar services in the area. The only negative is the sometimes tight parking, and the often dark and wet walkway to and from the studio space. read more

MASSAGE: I recently started using massage services at Maya Whole Health. I am an older guy with a history of ergonomic and orthopedic injuries. I am currently in a concerted effort to regain my fitness. The yoga offerings at Maya are second to none and they have instructors that will not be topped ANYWHERE. BUTT :) I have also discovered Alex Scott, a massage therapist at Maya WHS. She is very strong, and that's good for me as I am a big guy with lots of knots in my muscles. Alex is flat-out excellent. I have had more massage treatments than I could possible count over the last 20 years and I have never had a better massage therapist than Alex. Also... from my perspective, the pricing at Maya is very reasonable. I highly recommend using Alex Scott. read more

I used to love Maya. I would go 5x weekly. The instructors were amazing. But then they closed temporarily due to a plumbing issue. When they reopened they immediately resumed the balance of my membership. Unfortunately I had started practicing elsewhere. Maya was unable to accommodate me and I lost the balance of my annual pass. I got over it. However when my husband signed up for a 3 month massage package they kept auto drafting his bank account for months. He went back and forth with them until they finally admitted their error. But they said they couldn't refund him and could only give him a couple of month passes. Wait.... if you admit you wrongly charge someone you NEED to refund their money. Needless to say we will not be using these "free" passes. It's really a shame because I really liked their instructors. read more

I've visited Maya Whole Health Studio twice for acupuncture with hopes it help would turn my breech baby during my 37th week of pregnancy. Dr. Lin was not only charming and kind, she made me feel comfortable in her friendly presence. The best part is that the acupuncture helped bring my baby into the proper position, which was confirmed with ultrasound, and I am so grateful! Though I knew the baby had turned after the first visit, I still came back for a second visit and Dr. Lin was just as joyous as I. This is strictly for private yoga/pilates sessions. First off, what a beautiful and clean studio! Now, I can give all my love and praise to Kristen, who has completely changed the way I live in my body and has helped life-long pain in my hips and lower back. I am a yoga newbie and wanted to take private lessons to gain some strength back, and I was introduced to Kristen. The receptionist warned me that Kristen likes to blend yoga and Pilates together and I was open to the idea. Little did I know I would fall in love with both! Kristen is warm, compassionate, encouraging and incredibly friendly, she has taught me so much about my body in a short span of time, I'm so thankful to her. That is one of the best things about the studio, that each instructor brings something different to my practice. I like that they focus on "mind, body and spirit". Unlike, the yoga classes offered at local gyms, that seem only to focus on fitness. Plus, the actual studio is a tranquil place designed to add to the experience. The location and atmosphere are incredible. You can feel free to be yourself here. You can feel free to guide your own practice to suit your level. All of the staff are warm, welcoming and nonjudgmental. The classes are made up of all types of people; young, old, fit or out of shape. You truly feel it doesn't matter. I highly recommend at least trying this place once. I did, and was hooked when I stepped foot in the door. The prices are very reasonable, to give it a try. I went to Maya for the massage and acupuncture. The overall experience was okay and it was a nice treat for a pamper me day. Since I found a place that my insurance will cover, I won't be going back to Maya for the acupuncture services. The massage was very uncomfortable and I didn't like being told to breathe through it when I commented the pressure was to hard or she hit a painful spot. So far I've used two out of three services offered here at Maya and let me tell you it is a treat to find a great masseuse, Tami, and a great acupuncturist, Shirliey. Both ladies take there time to learn about you and your needs, so they can help you feel better and lift your spirits, I always feel much better when I leave after y appointment. It was a hot day and the studio seemed a bit humid with 10 people in the class. I will check out other classes as well and see how it goes. The online booking is great. I went to Maya after my car accident and started out with acupuncture. I had never experienced acupuncture before and the person explained it to me and made me feel comfortable. It really benefited me and I the staff was so helpful and professional. I felt better right after my first appt. They discussed with me how acup can help the entire body and helped me with a completely unrelated problem that I did not even know could be fixed with acup. Thanks! I also went to Kari and got some massages. She was great. I have been to some places and after the massage was done I felt like nothing had happened and did not feel any better. Kari used the right amount of pressure and her expertise helped make me feel better afterwards. She also explains why you are in pain (the technical side) and gives you stretches to do at home. I will go back to her anytime I need a massage. If you like yoga or Pilates, they also have those classes as well. I have done the into to Pilates class and they teach you all the basics needed to do it correctly. read more
