Love my Doctor! Besides being so knowledgeable, Dr. Lazaar is also a very nice human being

Dr. Lazaar is the best dentist in the Bay Area hands down! Her office is clean, organized, and filled with an amazing staff. I've been treated by almost all the hygienists and they are all very professional and caring. I would drive hours just to be able to be under Dr. Lazaar's care. My husband and I have had the same dentist for 25 years. They decided to retire and we decided to look for someone new and closer to home. We walked over to Dr. Lazaar's office and we are so thankful we did. We were met by Alyssa and Amanda at the front desk. We chatted, and by the time we left we had booked our next two appointments. Fast forward to today. My husband went in for a cleaning and his first visit with Dr. Lazaar. He met Phuong, his hygienist, whom he says was absolutely delightful and efficient. Dr. Lazaar came in to meet him. She was friendly and made him feel like he had been going to her for years. He left there happy we made the change. Dr. Lazaar has a gem, her hygienist, Phuong! She is detailed, thorough, and delivered a splendid clean set of teeth. So clean I think I'll skip lunch to make this clean feeling last longer. I've been searching for a hygienist since my great first one 11 years ago! (I skipped one lunch cos she left that practice and they didn't say where she went.) I am glad to find Phuong, she definitely hits the high bar. A hygienist spends the most time on your teeth and teeth cleaning are usually the value out of each of your annual routine visits. This is the primary reason to remain at Dr. Lazaar's dental practice! Thank you, Phuong! On top of that, Dr. Lazaar has a beautifully decorated office I just want to buy for my home as well. Haha! This extends to her dental tools, to my surprise, which not many dentists have... I do not know dental tools could be beautiful and colorful as I have not seen one like hers. If any improvement, it'd be the feeling of walking to her office, maybe as grand, bright, or lux as her practice's service. Dr. Lazaar's receptionists are friendly, fast, responsive! I have been seeing Dr. Maye as my only general dentist for the past 10 years. She has been amazing, caring, and gentle. I have never felt any pain during any visit in the past years. She also makes great referrals when I need to remove my wisdom teeth, and when my wife had to do a dental implant. We have done so much with Dr. Maye, and the experiences were nothing but wonderful. The office is very clean and well-equipped. The oral hygiene technicians are very professional. We recently moved to a different state and started to look for a new dentist. We miss Dr. Maye a lot. Dr. Lazaar and her team are so caring, professional and amazing. Due to my 4.5 years of chemotherapy I had 2 adjacent teeth with deep root cavities and was fully warned beforehand that a root canal was the likely solution. But Dr. Lazaar to the rescue! Dr Lazaar and the Smiles By Design team are truly hidden gems! For the last decade, I've been searching for a dentist that demonstrates the commitment to excellence and craftsmanship that I've experienced with Dr Lazaar. I was greeted both by the warmth and cleanliness of the waiting room, in addition to a very friendly receptionist. The visit was just a routine checkup & cleaning, noting some sensitivity in a tooth, and Dr Lazaar quickly showed me that a crown (work from a prior dentist) has a crack, and needed to be redone. I'm generally nervous visiting the dentist, but the confidence, meticulous manner, and expertise that Dr Lazaar showed put me at ease almost instantly. After the cleaning, she administered the numbing agent in the most precise manner, and repaired the decay of my tooth caused by the previous crown. With the temporary fix in place, I scheduled the follow up and left. No pain, no stress, no sense of dread about coming back - a BIG first! I came back today - just after 1 week (instead of 2 to 3 weeks at other practices), and Dr Lazaar removed the temporary crown and put in the permanent one. The process was once again flawless and smooth - it feels incredible now! I'm SO happy to have found her, and won't be dreading my next visit :D I would highly recommend Dr Lazaar to anyone! read more

Dr Lazaar is absolutely the best dentist I've ever had. Granted, I'd had a string of not-so-great dentists before her, but regardless, she's really good at her job! She has all of the latest equipment, she knows what she's talking about, she can describe the problems my teeth are having so easily and articulately that a child could understand what she means, she's very professional and as a cherry on top of it all, her staff are friendly and professional. Update: I'm grateful to have such a wonderful dentist. Dr. Lazaar and the team have gone to great lengths to make the office safe for everyone during the current COVID social distancing. There is a protocol in place even before you head there. You have to fill out a questionnaire in advance, call when you arrive, proceed up to the office, disinfect hands, get temp taken (NO CONTACT), and then you notice that the entire office is filled with these space age air filters (as if Dr. Lazaar has some secret connections to NASA or something). Anyhow, I can't even begin to explain how comfortable and safe I felt knowing that the entire staff have spared no expense in making sure I feel that way. Thanks :-) read more

I found Dr. Lazaar about half a year ago and I have loved coming to her ever since. After a lag in dental care, I had a fair few things I needed to get taken care of and Dr. Lazaar and her team helped me feel comfortable and calm the whole way through, so much so that I changed my insurance just to keep going there! I feel like the team takes special care to get to know their patients too, which is so nice compared to other clinics I have been to before. I love this place!! Dr. Lazaar is a great dentist. She never makes me feel bad for not flossing as often as I should, which in turn has led me to actually floss more often (as in every day now). She's gentle when it comes to cleaning teeth. Recently, I had to get a filing and it was painless. Yeah, I hate the sound of the drill but she managed to numb me and about 10 minutes later she was all done. If you're looking for a great, not good, but GREAT dentist, she's the one. I've been a patient of Dr. Maye Lazaar for many years, and I must say, that she is the best dentist, and nicest person you could ever have the pleasure to meet. Her and her office staff are always so friendly, and compassionate. This place and everyone who works there is awesome! I highly recommend them! I had been searching for a cosmetic dentist in my area and Dr. Lazaar was recommended to me. After my initial visit I thought they were awesome and I was so glad I found them. I had told Lori - their front office manager - at the time I made my first appointment that I was giving myself a birthday present and wanted to replace my existing dental crowns with ones. The last time my teeth were done was more than 25 years ago so it was time! On my first appointment to start the process, they hung a Happy Birthday sign for me. What? Who does that! I was so touched. I've had several appointments since then and never had to wait more than 5 minutes to be seen for my regular dental or cleaning appointments. FYI - my teeth turned out AMAZING! I'm so happy with the work that was done. Since then I have recommended several friends and family members to them. Sunday, July 05, 2015 Hello, What a great source for dental heath right in our own backyard, minutes away from anywhere in Los Gatos and Campbell ! I am quite impressed by the first impression I got from visiting Dr. Lazaar. Professional, thorough, receptive, confident and resourceful. She fully explained the current status of my teeth, pointed out to problem areas that should have been addressed earlier, and recommended a long term plan to address cavities, bridge replacement, extraction, and fillings as needed, while pointing out insurance coverage, and possible out of pocket expenses. She uses state-of-the-art equipment and has a very friendly and professional staff, both in the front office and in her exam room. With my unique teeth conditions, i.e. 20-year old bridge that needs to be rebuilt from the foundation up, an implant, lurking cavities and re-crowning needs, not to mention night time teeth grinding habits, I am looking forward to many future visits to Dr. Maye Lazaar's office, a top-notch state-of-the-art interior ambiance that adds so much to patient's comfort and creates a relaxing and stress-free ambiance - job well done!! Dr. Lazaar visited my 3 yr old girls' preschool and they were so excited to get their first teeth cleaning by her. She explained everything to them before she did it and they cooperated wonderfully. They even said they had fun and are excited to go to the dentist again. They brush very well at home because she told them about the "sugar bugs" that are bad for their teeth. Coincidentally, a few days after our first visit, my 21 month old son fell on his front teeth on a Friday night. He damaged them badly and was in a lot of pain and we had to go to the ER. Panicked, my husband, called Dr. Lazaar to find out what to do because the ER doctors didn't have much to say after ruling out head trauma. She actually came to the ER during the late night to examine him--something the ER nurses said they've never seen happen in 20 years of working there! She let us know that we needed to see a pediatric specialist who could xray the teeth and possibly put them back into place or pull them. My husband drove him up to San Francisco to a 24 hour clinic with oral surgeons and Dr. Lazaar stayed in contact with us via text throughout the night and early into the morning to make sure everything was going okay. He ended up not having any serious problems that required surgery, but he did have to have his front teeth pulled. We are so thankful that we met Dr. Lazaar and we are awed by such a caring person who is willing to go above and beyond on her personal time to help out a family who was freaking out about our son's dental emergency. I would recommend her to anyone, young or old. She also has a beautiful office that is relaxing and pleasant, which is another bonus. read more

I just had my first session with Dr Maye and I am so happy I switched to her! She is very thorough and takes the effort to explain what she is doing while also making careful recommendations as she does the treatment. Very personable, knowledgeable, caring, easy on the eyes, and definitely my new favorite dentist! I don't think I would ever say this but I wouldn't mind going back again for another cleaning or just a check up. The experience was more pleasurable than it was punishing like my other previous dentists. Her office team is also great and very friendly and accommodating. My only fear in putting more good things in this review is that the place might get packed with customers and it will be harder to make appointments, so I will stop here - I just want them to be successful with more business, not overwhelmed. read more

I got my front tooth back for Christmas. Dr Maye just finished installing my new implant I can bite on apples again. Let me tell you a little about her and her office staff and I hope i can do them justice Her office is decorated unlike other dental offices; it has a very homey feel to it with a fireplace under large flat screen TV and art works on every wall and comfortable lounge chairs and a coffee table. The staff is another big plus for this office because they are all kind and professional and always have a smile on their face. The communication from this office is very modern so you get the iMessages, SMS and Outlook invites (you have no excuse to miss your appointment because they send you every possible communication but the smoke and a blanket style message). Dr Lazaar is truly a gifted doctor with a gentle touch and knowledge of a seasoned physician. I am so proud to call her my family dentist (my whole family sees her) as well as my friend. I really recommend Dr Lazaar to anyone looking for a new dentist and believe me when I say that your dentist visits will be joyful from then on. Loved, loved, loved Dr. Maye and her team. Everyone was so pleasant and nice. The exam and cleaning were thorough and comfortable. I was impressed with all the latest and greatest in what dental technology has to offer - super sonic plaque removers, special polishers, X-ray machines that reduce radiation levels by 90%. They were seriously concerned with my comfort and overall experience. I love the beautiful fountain as well. Who knew a trip to the dentist could be so soothing and relaxing. I moved to Los Gatos 4 years ago and kept our dentist where we used to live bc I didn't think I could find anyone more capable than our former dentist. After scouring Yelp and asking friends, I decided to try Dr Lazaar at Smiles by Design and I can't believe I waited so long! Dr Lazaar is incredbile and the front desk superhero, Lori, is just as incredible. What a team. I couldn't be happier with the amazing care she has give my children and myself. Dr Maye is the best dentist I have ever been to! She is so gentle that I could not even feel a shot she gave me for a filling. I had a dental emergency about a month ago on a Sunday (of course) but my husband was able to get a hold of her in no time and she and a staff member met us right away at the office. Her entire staff is wonderful as well. They all know you by name and even remember things you told them months before. I would recommend Dr Maye to anyone including small children.
