My upstairs AC went out. No one lives there, so it wasn't an emargency, but I sent a contact message to Maynor on 6/22 (the day it went out) and I'm still waiting for a response. Same thing happened 2 years ago when I needed help with my tankless water heater - waited two weeks with no response. I agree with the guy who said he'd never recommend them. Needless to say, I've found someone else (who came out on the 23rd) and will never use Maynor again. read more

I would never recommend Maynor to anyone. Poor systems, bad follow up, faulty products poorly installed and they do not back their work. AVOID. It was a good company when it was founded. Maynor did a full replacement of our home's aging and broken furnace and AC. They were incredibly prompt, and someone was out to give us a quote on the same day we called. Drew put together multiple options for us and did a great job of thoroughly explaining each one and addressing all of the questions we had. The quote was competitive, and they were able to complete the install the very next day. Austin and Devan completed the installation; they were both very professional and did a great job. Went with Maynor after using another great local company for years, simply due to their competitive pricing. It's been sort of a nightmare ever since. Had a company that was great, knowledgable, informed the customer, really helped and was concerned about air quality issues; this has been the exact opposite, and serious upcharges...now I know how they offer such cheap Trane units, lol. It's very hard to know what they are installing, what they doing, etc. I'm unsure the repercussions of changing companies now, but really dread getting maintenance. Other companies (actually had 2 in the area over time) have been great letting me know about my unit, how to improve it, etc. I tried to get a quote on a crawl space dehumidifer...they sent absolutely nothing, just said a number, literally. Slowly, any additional work like that I just get someone else. I'm trying to see about things others can do, to the point that the few hundred dollars for "checkups" seems silly read more

I'm upset and disappointed with Maynor. I've been a loyal customer for over 13 years and they have lost their compassion. I was awoken by an alarm going off in my attic. I recently had a new furnace installed which had a water issue after the installation, so my first thought was that it was the unit again. I called Maynor and they came out a few hours later, which was great, but it turned out that it wasn't the unit. The alarm was coming from my hot-water heater. I'm upset with Maynor because they charged me $99 for the service call. Yes, this was my mistake. I was charged the entire fee for him to show me the alarm, which took 1 second. When I first chose Maynor, they were a family-owned and run company, but not anymore, and unfortunately, it shows. read more

I had to take four days off of work and they never got it right. My house was cooling but my fan was making some noise. They replaced the fan and fan motor but the first technician installed it wrong and he ended up purging 5 pounds of coolant from my system. When the house was now not cooling I asked for a more senior technician. As soon as the "senior" guy showed up he started treating me like I was in the wrong. He was rude, inpatient, and disrespectful. When I asked about the coolant and if we could refill it. He said that he first had to do a full leak detection inspection and it would cost me. All in all I had to go to another company who showed me clearly that Maynor had install the fan wrong and then lied about why there was no coolant. I was with them for 10 years and I will never go back. read more

I once gave this company a 5 star review and used them for all my HVAC needs for three properties, but in the last year I have seen their decline. The owner who originally was the man that I praised, sold this company and they have become like every other large HVAC company. 1. Numerous times they have forgotten things that I have scheduled. I asked to be on their maintenance plan but every year I have to call to remind them. 2. This year they quoted me 426 dollars to install a thermostat that is on Amazon for 100. They charged an additional 100 to install. 526 to install a new thermostat. They justified this price with a one-year warranty. That is the reason for the 4x the amount price when that is manufacture warranty. They unfortunately are no longer the company that they once were, I am currently looking for a new one to take their place. read more

Recently decided to try Maynor for a full HVAC replacement, since they're a local business. The sales guy was very knowledgeable and gave us several options to consider. Selecting equipment with good availability was a priority for us since the A/C was completely out, and we were looking at options before a long holiday weekend. The installation team arrived at the appointment time the following week and completed the install in less than one day. No issues with permit inspection. UPDATE 30 DAYS: Maynor did refund some of the charge. The HVAC technician (from another company) came back and installed the flush valve (that Maynor was originally called for but did not install) and showed how necessary that was, near-solid sludge in the line and at another ball joint valve, and replaced that. Jessica from the office was as friendly, professional, and attentive with scheduling my installation and the follow up inspection. My AC went out ona Fri night. I called early on Sat and a tech came out later that day. I paid $159 for the call and diagnosis which was what I was told in advance. The problem was the fan motor. The tech gave me a price of $1200.00 to replace the fan motor and capacitor. I agreed but had second thoughts about the price. I went online to get pricing on the fan and cancelled the service from Maynor. I ordered it myself and installed it myself. The motor and capacitor, original equipment, was $260.00. Not sure how these people can sleep at night. I suspect they all do this and consider this as "only business". I consider it pure evil. read more

I had a leaking bathtub faucet and needed a plumber. Given that they only offer 4-5 hour windows of time for an appointment (8am-12 or 12-5pm), I rearranged my entire work schedule to have a half day off to sit at home from 8-noon and wait for the plumber. At 11:40 they hadn't shown up or called, so I called the office and was told that the plumber was finishing another job that ran late and should be on the way shortly. I expressed my concern that I needed to be back at work by 2pm and didn't know if that would give enough time. At 1:45 the plumber finally called/showed up, of course I wasn't there because I was already on the way to work. The plumber also told me when he called that despite the 4 hour window of 8-12noon that the office had scheduled (which is unreasonable to begin with), he actually had me on his schedule for 1pm. So not only did they not show up with a 4 hour window for an appointment I rearranged my work schedule for, but they don't communicate well enough between the office and the plumber to even get close to the time that they told me they would be there. Completely unacceptable way to run a business. I assume they are busy enough that they don't need my business because neither the office nor the plumber offered any recompense such as a discount or an offer to reschedule at a more convenient time. The plumber at least apologized. The office staff did not seem to care about their poor business practice. I will be looking elsewhere for my HVAC or plumbing needs as this is not the first time they haven't shown up within their ridiculous 4 hour window, but it will certainly be the last. read more

We already used them for our biannual service to keep our system prepared for the seasons that NC brings. After a VERY warm fall and a failing AC, we called and they came out and gave us very honest information and educated us about our current system. It was time for an upgrade. We got a new system and with this our system became up-to-date and keep the air clean for my family (I have asthma). Started at 0800 and completed by 2pm and showed us how to use our new system. Everyone has been so kind and respectful. They allowed me to drop the payment off at the office and I was able to meet one of the owners and having a degree in administration, I love seeing the top interacting on a day to day basis with staff. On the 27th of April 2022, Rob and Seth of Maynor Services installed my new Trane Gas Pack HVAC system. Both actually showed up early and were waiting out front before our appointment. We talked briefly about what they were going to be doing and they got right to work. You could tell that they'd worked together as a team for a while as they both tackled different areas without any discussion. Seth even dug up and moved two shrubs to make room for removing the old unit and installing the new unit. At the end, he replanted them and both shrubs have survived like they were never disturbed. They removed all the old equipment, including stuff under the house without a trace. The new unit went in perfectly and the sheet metal covering the ducts and attaching everything back to the house looked so much better and more professional than the old installation. Rob only had to come into the house just a couple of times; to remove the old control system and thermostats and install the new thermostats. It was a full day's work for Rob and Seth, but the results were perfect. Both were very personable and I would highly recommend them as team to install Trane equipment to anyone. I've used Maynor for preventive maintenance on my old equipment for two years leading up to replacing my 16-year-old system and kept it operating perfectly, but now, before it really gets hot and while equipment was available seemed to be the smart time to make an upgrade. read more

I had high hopes for these folks as they were recommended by a friend. Sadly, it is not to be. I left two voicemail over the days and they never returned a call just to book the appointment. My last attempt reached Christi and we booked an appointment for today, between 2p -4p. Tech Jacob was a no-show and no one called me to manage my expectation of service. I called just now, 4:24p, and I asked Christi for a status and she said they were running behind. I related that someone should have called. But, at 4:27p I called Air Experts and their man is in the area and on the way over now. So: very substandard service from Christi at the office and equally poor customer management from the technician. While others may have enjoyed at least decent service I can only relate that I've lost two hours of wages waiting on the guys and they totally blew it. Horrible. read more

Have used Maynor for years on a normal maintenance contract. Today they came out and our upstairs unit was not getting cool (we have two units). He said because my unit was 14 years old, I should replace both units even though my downstairs was working well. Furthermore, he quoted me 3800 dollars just to replace the coil in the upstairs unit. The sticker shock made me suspicious. I called around 4 other local places and all quoted $2500 or less to replace the coil. One got so mad with what I told him, he came to my house immediately since he was in the area. Looked at my systems, said the Maynor guy was full of it, put two pounds of coolant in my upstairs unit and now we have delightful cool air again. We will never use them again and I feel ripped off for all the years of paying for the yearly contract. BTW, the coolant price was less than half the $175 per pound Maynor quoted me. read more

Maynor figured things out and quickly installed a new system that works better than the old one ever did. Our unit in the attic was totally gone along with a need for some duct work replacement. We bought our house five years ago and ever since we have gone through several HVAC companies. We needed to add a system above our garage and got several quotes. Out of 6 different HVAC companies Jake and his team were the most thorough and competitively priced so decided to give them a shot. Boy we are glad we called them as they did an incredible job and could not be happier. Not long after the garage was done we developed an issue with our main unit which Jacob came out and found the problem right away.
