As much as I love the boyfriend (now fiance), and as good as he is with the gift-buying, an engagement ring is a pretty big gift, and I just wanted to be able to at least hint at what I hoped for, since I had a few specifics in mind. I knew I didn't want a diamond, I knew I wanted the stone to be set in the band (I had visions of a stone snagging on every surface in my house). . . I also wanted to make sure the materials used for my ring were ethically sourced. Stephen Einhorn fit the bill perfectly. As soon as I saw the Times Square ring, I was in love. When I saw it with a pink sapphire, I was head over heels. And now, many months later, I am happy to say that it is the most attractive part of my dry, winter-ravaged hands. Sigh. To note, the fiance said that it was exactly what he'd had in mind before I showed it to him. So I just did the legwork. Of course I can't really comment on the customer service or ordering process or anything like that. The markets date back to 1854 and have been loving restored. It's worth walking through, even if you don't buy a thing.
