Here's what I love about it: - the corn maze is challenging but still fun for everyone - kids and adults alike! I love that there's an option to track yourself in the maze via gps/on a website. The tracking isn't 100% accurate but is good enough to help you figure out how to get out. - We almost always go on Columbus Day. Because it's a holiday weekend they typically have live music. - they include a tractor hay ride with admission, as well as hay bales for the kids to climb on and other fun lawn games. - there is food, snacks and a small farmers market/produce stand. - Admission price isn't too bad - $19.95/adult and only $4.95/kids. - there's sufficient parking! If you're in the area - or even an hour drive away - The Farm is a great place for Fall fun for the whole family!

If you want to bring a book and coffee, the environment is conducive for a relaxing retreat. They welcome dogs and have two that hangout at the farm. The lavender smell is phenomenal- and you can enjoy it throughout the farm. They have all kinds of lavender products for you to buy from honey, to live plants, and dried bundles. They also have other farm fresh veggies. This has become my new source for eggs. They are only $6 a carton and taste so much better than store bought. If you enjoy livestock, they have chickens and goats that you are able to watch eat upon request. This is beautiful addition to Waterbury and I highly recommend to anyone. This year we decided to venture off the beaten path, to find a nearby local pumpkin farm that…read morewasn't as chaotic as others we've visited in the past. When we arrived, at first the kids were skeptical, but once we were out and about, we realized the Warrup's Farm offered a wide range of different types of pumpkins, gourds and squash that made it really fun to hunt for with the family. Note that they have 2 pumpkin patches. A smaller one on the north side (with a wide variety) and a larger one of your typical orange pumpkin variety on the south side of the entry road. The staff was gracious and friendly. They offered us a cart to help with pumpkin transportation. They also have a convenient parking area. Overall it worked out and was a very nice and fun family experience. I'm looking forward to going back next year. Here are some of our jack-o-lantern results from the Warrup's Farm pumpkins!

From Highland Cows, Ostrich, kangaroos, capybaras, and zebra and so much more, there is no shortage of cute animals to see. Parking is ample and admission cost is reasonable (18/adult). Aside from all the great animals to visit outside, there is a great display of taxidermy wildlife inside. Visitors are provided with the option to enjoy the park on foot or driving around (with options to stop along the way). I would highly recommend making the trip out to visit!

Their primary intention was to create a farm that would help provide equitable access to healthy, organically grown ingredients. In 2000 they purchased an unremarkable plot of 15 acres that was densely covered with trees. With the guidance of landscape architect Cynthia Rice and the impact of one extreme storm, they reshaped the landscape into one that supported the growing of fruit, vegetables, and herbs. Gradually agricultural structures that suggested a much longer history were thoughtfully positioned across the landscape, complementing the home they had designed and built on the site. CONCEPT: In the end a non-profit, Stonewood Farm, was established. Per their vision, the small scale farm efficiently produces food that is donated to local Meals-on-Wheels, senior housing facilities, and a food collection site in neighboring Dover Plains. What was once an unremarkable site is now an admired point of reference of what is possible with time, effort, and patience. EXPERIENCE: During growing season the farm is open to the public on Friday mornings, during which produce and baked goods can be purchased.
