Brandon was our sales representative and he is phenomenal! We were looking for a 2022 Mazda cx9 Signature, and Lakeland Mazda had one posted on one of the online car marketplace apps. We were very nervous at first about the risk of driving that far to do business with a car dealer that we are not familiar with. However, Brandon went over and above by sending us videos of the car, answering a million questions, and getting a quote from the dealership for our trade-in - all on the same day we called him. He made us feel as though this dealership truly stands behind the cars they sell, and they would not make us keep a car we did not like. When we arrived at the dealership the car was exactly as Brandon had described it to us (immaculate), and after a short test drive, we drove it back to SC. I don't want to write this review, but I am so disappointed in the service side of Mazda in whole. I created a 1 star review in the past and deleted it. Last time I took the fault of not reporting my freyed seats within the first year, that's on me. This time I did my research found a tsb as-001/24 for a rattling sunroof that is a known issue, and again Lakeland Mazda denied the warranty claim. What's the point in advertising bumper to bumper 3 year 36k warranty if you are going to deny tsb of known issues. I want to state I have no issues with sales and only with service/warranty side. Buyer beware post sale experience, if you can maybe you should/want to go to another Mazda dealership for better post sale experience. My experience with MAZDA Lakeland has been terrible so far. About two months ago I bought a CERTIFIED 2024 CX50 ( trading in my 2023 Mustang GT with 17k miles showroom condition.) I had noticed some condensation from the driver headlight, towards the end of March I get in touch with the salesman. After not hearing anything back from him I go to the dealership and I'm told to make an appointment. So I bring the car to the dealer, car goes in ... I'm told that warranty will cover if headlight is not broken and I reply ok I bought the car there, it's Certified and CARFAX came clean and since I had it..no collision had occurred or any accident what so ever. They take driver headlight out and it's broken so i am told I'm responsible for the cost ( $1090 for a new headlight ) of diagnosing of over $100. I told them again that I bought the car there, it was sold AS certified not even 2 months ago and It hasn't been any collision damage or else. They say Nope. Asked to speak to the General Manager Mrs. Justiz and when eventually she comes out to talk to me she says that I'm responsible for it since according to them it happened after the car was sold. I contacted Mazda corporate since it happened where they opened up a case. Not at all pleased with the service department. I have owned several Mazda vehicles over the past 10 plus years. This is the first time I have had a negative opinion of Mazda. I really do not appreciate: - being called a liar - not being provided a receipt or video or any proof that the $850 repair I paid for was completed. - suggesting my 18-year old daughter should have driven 3 hours to the closest Mazda away at college because Lakeland Mazda failed to fix the issue we paid for. We purchased a vehicle from Mazda Lakeland in Dec, 2023. Within an hour all of the warning lights on the dash lit up and soon the car went into limp mode in the middle of traffic on I4. We called the dealership and they asked us to "give them a chance to fix it. " Since then it has been in the shop for 47 days for 4 attempts to repair. We have invested $1229 in a repair that they assured us would fix the car, and it is still not safe to drive. Here is an outline of events. The problem with this car has created multiple safety issues for our 24 yr-old daughter. Leaving her with a badly misfiring car, in limp mode, on the side of I4 -once during an attempt to go to the hospital for a medical emergency. After the third repair attempt, upon my request, I received a call from Sophia Justiz, General Manager of the dealership. During multiple conversations she suggested that we complete a "buy back" of the malfunctioning vehicle and trade for either a new car lease or another used car. But when pressed, her "buy-back" offer was to trade-in for $12,500 a car for which we paid $14,595+$899 Doc fee+all other fees and repair expenses. Mazda Lakeland actively avoided the 5 day return policy by asking us to give them the opportunity to fix the car. Now that we are outside of the 5 day window, they will only offer to trade the car in for thousands less than we paid or it, or leave us with an unusable vehicle. Obviously, she considers this an opportunity to sell another car, not to stand behind a previous sale. The bottom line is that our hard-cost investment in this car (excluding measurable transportation and lost work) equals $17,992.50. Mazda Lakeland's offer of $12,500 leaves us with a true, out of pocket cash loss of $5,492.50. Sophia refuses to even respond to me or acknowledge 5+ attempts to communicate with her since May 5. I attempted to contact their parent company, Holler-Classic. They would not accept a call or email either. Stay clear. read more

Local Senior's Advocacy group under Florida AG office took complaint, but after Lakeland Mazda's lawyer team came with all guns blazing, option to litigate rather than negotiate was not viable for us, an elderly snowbird couple. I don't feel compelled to write these often, but this one did it for me. I should note, they were professional and kind. No fault to the customer service, scheduling, or the technician I dealt with. They were great for the most part. This review however is for the cost of maintenance. For routine 15k mile maintenance for a Cx-5 was quoted to cost $509. (Should be $250 max) It is just a cabin air filter, tire rotation, oil change, tightening bolts, etc. They would not provide an actual breakdown for the cost. Everything they told me had an extremely high markup. For example, they said an air filter is $80, when looking at the OEM genuine part cost to order was $23. And do so for the other parts/costs quoted to me too. I got the exact same service quoted and fulfilled Firestone for $171. Absolutely insane markup and prices. Go elsewhere for non-warranty work. read more

Lakeland Mazda's service was a waste of time and money. Their pricing is extremely high and was exacerbated by adding services that weren't even necessary. Many questions to my repairs were not answered professionally, or just ignored. What they thought was needed in replacement (not repairs), would have cost me over $3,000. My car is in great shape and does not need parts that are working just fine. What was actually needed in the end was repaired for $850 by another local repair shop. After having to return my car 4 times to Mazda's service, needless to say was frustrating. It was misdiagnosed at one point. What was repaired by them was fixed, but that was overpriced too. I had a nice talk to the management there and complained about the lack of communication and cost. Years ago their service was great, but has changed. Overall, the people are nice to you, but need to do a better job of answering simple questions and be more reasonable with unnecessary costs. read more

We recently purchased a car at this dealership. It was previously a loaner car. When we purchased the car it was a sunny day and there were no signs of writing on the window. The following morning with dew on the window, we were surprised to see the writing that clearly stated it was a Lakeland Mazda loaner car. We reached out to the dealership and drove back the next day to have it fixed. We told them we did not want to keep the car if it did not get fixed. They again cleaned the window and sure enough the next morning, the writing was still present. They sent us to a closer dealership where they too tried to get it off, but was unsuccessful. We again reached out and was told they would replace the window for us. A couple of weeks went by and we didn't hear anything. Now we are being told they did everything they could and will not replace the window because it's not that bad and it should fade. This place will lie to you to sell you a car. Not only did they not inform us they changed their mind, they outright lied. I would not recommend this place and would purchase a car elsewhere. read more

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR ENERGY! Worse Experience EVER at a Dealership! We purchased a brand new 2022 Mazda CX-9 with 4 miles on it from the showroom floor. The purchasing experience wasn't terrible but our BRAND NEW car started acting strange within 12,000 miles. We had lights coming on the dash, the breaks were making an awful noise. It's under warranty so we called to have it serviced and hopefully get the issue resolved. We are a one car family so I had to reserve a courtesy vehicle which was like pulling teeth and came with a lot of unnecessary drama! I will spare you the incredibly long story but after 3 days in the shop they text me they found a serious issue with the car and said they could not return it in the shape it was in. The master tech wanted to have a look...we allowed the time for that. Unfortunately we are a family of 6 so we needed the reserved third row courtesy vehicle as promised by 5pm. I called at 4pm because we had not had any updates and we had a hour drive back to Lakeland to pick up our other two children....they left me on hold for 20 minutes to "Check on it" and when they came back on they were all like it's ready for pick up??? I said oh that's great! We won't be there until after 6 though because as we explained when we checked out the rental, we work an hour away!! They actually told us sorry, we need you here by 6pm SO WE RACED it all the way to Lakeland and got there a few minutes late. They handed us a key and I said, "well what happened to the car?" What did they fix? The guy at the counter said, he wasn't sure. But that they had not fixed it. WHAT THE HELL? I asked him why not? And he could offer me no explanation. I was so angry. I could not believe after all we went through the days leading up to this and the shuffling around that they had not even resolved the issues. NOT TO MENTION they text me (I HAVE IT IN WRITING) they felt the car had a serious issue. So they returned it to us and we have not since had a call from a manager (As requested) or anything! Nothing. They do not care about their customers and they do not deserve your money or business! Trust me. It's a bad idea. Looking for a new vehicle doesn't have to be difficult any more. We started off visiting our local dealerships to test drive a few different vehicles and narrowed it down to two. When we started talking to the sales person we began to realize that they were not completely truthful. We decided to leave and to check online for the vehicle we chose. We contacted Lakeland Mazda the following day and Brian quickly got back to us with the specifics of the vehicle we were interested in. He gave us a price that was thousands less than our local dealership. Brian told us the price included everything and was the price we would be paying. We were a little skeptical since this is what most dealers tell you only to surprise you with more fees when it comes time to sign paperwork. Lakeland is a no haggle dealership where sales associates don't get a commission to sell you some you don't want or need, but are paid to provide a great experience. Every interaction we had with Brian prior to arriving at the dealership made us more complete with trusting Lakeland Mazda and Brian. He went above and beyond to answer all our questions and even took a video both inside and outside the vehicle to show us options etc. Lakeland Mazda was a 2 hour drive for us but we felt much more comfortable dealing with them vs our local dealership that was only 20 minutes away. I can't say enough about how friendly everyone at the dealership was and how comfortable they made us feel. From Austin and Aleena in finance to to Austin in sales and our personal sales associate Brian. They were all great and made us feel like we we were part of their "family". The final sales price was exactly as quoted with no surprise, the service was beyond what we expected and the experience was great. Was it worth the 4+ hours of driving to purchase our new CX-9 at Lakeland Mazda you ask?  Absolutely!!  As a matter of fact, I would drive twice as far and they have earned my business for all my future Mazda purchases. read more

I went to this dealership last year (May 2022). I installed Mitsubishi wheels on my CX-7 and needed balancing. I was send a link to a video of my car where the tech stated that is possible for me to feel a vibration on the highway because I didnt have Mazda wheels on the car. I know that Mitsubishi and Mazda have the same 67mm bore so this should not be a problem, and it wasnt! The tech did a great job balancing and the CX-7 didnt vibrate at all. Fast forward 1 year later (May 10th, 2023) I took the Mitsubishi wheels off the CX-7, sold the CX-7 and purchased a Mazda3. I installed new tires on the same Mitsubishi wheels and installed the wheels on the Mazda3 but I needed balancing. I decided to go to the dealership again since they were great last year. I made the appointment and headed that way. When I arrive, Im greeted by one of their staff outside and he takes my key, immediately the same exact person that took care of me last year comes out and says "we cant work on aftermarket wheels, they must be original to the car in order for the machine to balance the wheels properly". C'mon, I had these very wheels on my CX-7 last year and it was not a problem then! I hate to bring this up but, I was a lead tech at a tire store for 11 years and there is not such thing "they must be original to the car in order for the machine to balance the tires properly". The machine balances the wheels, it doesnt matter what brand! Are you telling me that every single car manufacturer has a specific balancing machine for each different brand wheel they come accross? No such thing! If he told me that they cant take on the liability (even though they worked on these very wheels last year) then thats different, but to lie to me as if I didnt know any better is extremely offensive. For this reason I wont be taking any of my Mazdas there again. I mean, if they have the audacity to lie about this then what else can they lie to other customers? read more

I had a poor experience when I was in the market to purchase a Mazda from them, but its not what caused me to write a poor review. The sales rep was great but the sales manager was pushy and a hard ass. My wife and I ended up leaving with their lowest offer and ended up visiting Mazda of Wesley Chapel and got a MUCH better deal and an enjoyable comfortable experience with their sales rep and sales manager. Unfortunately, Mazda of Wesley Chapel is an hour drive from us. The closest service center is Ed Morse in Lakeland. So we decided to give them another shot hoping their service department would be a better experience for our first oil change. I was shocked to find that they charge $74.95 plus tax for synthetic oil change. I have always preferred having a dealership's service center complete oil changes because they record them in Carfax reports to help resale value and because I feel more comfortable with certified mfg techs working on my car oppose to $10 an hour Jiffy Lube/Pep Boy employee. I have NEVER paid more than $50 out the door for oil change at a dealership's service center. But to make worse the next day I noticed that my car was still alerting me that oil change was due because their techs failed to reset it. I called Mazda of Wesley Chapel and learned they only charge $48 for the synthetic oil change. I guess I'll be making the hour long drive to them every 5K :-( read more

This was unfortunately not a great experience. First when running my credit for the loan they ran it with about 6-7 different banks to get me the best rate which put 6 hard hits on my credit. . I physically showed them my credit score Before they ran my credit. You would think as professionals they would have experience in the lenders they work with to know which lender they should move you forward with. Secondly, during the purchase process of buying a used car the sales associate stated the car would come with a 90 day warranty as they would replace or fix any issues with OEM parts to ensure I have the best experience. Immediately the car had an issue with the Bluetooth which many people use today as a hands free option in keeping themselves safe while driving. They were very understanding and worked with me to get the issue resolved and part replaced with the OEM dealer. During my visit I expressed issues with the cruise control and the dealer did confirm the issue however Mazda refused to cover the expense. The second issue that came about was the muffler as it broke within the first 90 days. The service manager took the car to a local muffler shop and had it fixed but not OEM as they initially stated when selling the car. When I mentioned this to the shop manager he said it was too expensive to replace with OEM and he felt the way the muffler shop repaired it was better than having the OEM muffler fixed and replaced. I didn't argue because the job was already done. I also spoke to the GM Sophia and explained my issues with the remaining problems such as the cruise control, and rear camera. She was kind enough to get me another appointment with her team however the team stated everything was working at that moment and they couldn't do anything. Once I returned home the issue immediately started again and at this point I was exhausted I. Trying to get them to support me and not getting anywhere as the dealership is 45 min away from me. The issues still remain and Sophia reached out to see how I was doing. I explained my frustration with the experience and the end result was "I'm sorry I can't help you. You should take it to the dealer." This is not a way to build relationships with clientele not to provide customer service. This dealership will tell you anything to get you into a car but won't follow through on the support they promised. Sadly enough I will never be purchasing a car from them again nor would I recommend this dealership to anyone... read more

I scheduled a brake diagnostic at Mazda after experiencing severe screeching noises and erratic braking power for my CX-9 after very recent auto work done at a separate location in the PanHandle before a relocation move. I decided that perhaps the original work might have missed something and was told by the shop that performed it that they will still honor the warranty if something will show up and compensate me for the work. I went to take my car to the shop for a diagnostic and was told it was going to be 100 dollars flat out. I said sure why not, I am not certain what was the problem and the people that did the work before would be paying for it so money wasnt an issue although I was still kinda annoyed that Mazda was going to charge me for something insanely simple. Today was the appointment day so I sped right over there and made it in just before my appointment time and waited in the car for about 5min thinking some service advisor would welcome me and take down my information like other service shops do, but NOPE didnt happen here! No one showed up while I waited in the rain! As a disabled USAF vet I would think that there would be some kind of measure of being welcomed to a service shop but this was not one of those experiences. Annoyed I decided to walk out the car to go inside to fetch an advisor to physically come out and ride with me to experience my problem first hand. A lady, I assume a service tech, wanted to grab my keys but I told her I felt more comfortable showing my problem firsthand rather than explaining it and having a service tech do it himself (which has let me down many times before from other shops in the past). So she agrees but says she wanted to finish up some paperwork first. I walk back outside and waited inside my car thinking that someone will come back out really quickly after that. HAH! Laugh was on me... I proceeded to wait 15minutes inside my vehicle with my car turned on waiting on someone to come out.. NO ONE SHOWED UP. Ok so more than annoyed, now agitated I look on my phone, scan for brake shops near my location and find Sun coast Automotive Repair service with a nearly 5 star rating and almost 40 reviews. I left Mazda and no one seemed to have noticed because I didn't even get a call from them questioning where I was for my appointment. LOL ridiculous service and ridiculous customer appreciation. Thank you Mazda of New Port Richey/Hudson, not only did I save $100+ dollars from a brake diagnostic that was absolutely FREE at SunCoast Automotive Repair, they found the problem in record time and pointed out to a recall on my vehicle that will save me an additionally $650 dollars. Oh guess what, ill be doing the recall at the more reputable Wesley Chapel Mazda location. read more

On 8/29/17, picked up my car after receiving 2 ignition coils $340 & realized all my coolant had been drained. I asked the service people to please come out at assist as this wasn't on when I brought the car in and they filled my radiator with water. It drained out by that night I continued to fill up and returned car in two days from when I picked up to advise I would like them to fix this as it occurred on their premises; I had no coolant or radiator issues as I drive my car for work purposes & regularly check all fluids. Well I was advised they could only give me a discount for about $300 plus & so they sent me to the GM Brian Speas. When I explained this incident occurred at their dealership, he actually accused me of probably knowing it was leaking. However, if my car was in their shop for two days, and they didn't cause the damage, but it was my fault, WHY didn't they tell me in the service department my radiator was leaking and did I want to get it fixed? Who gives a car back to a customer after they paid $340 and it have another repair needed? Brian Speas refused to repair this free of cost and then I asked if I would have to get a lawyer to get my money back for the repair? He immediately told me that because I said the word "lawyer" I had to leave the premises now and the end! I started crying and went and sat in the waiting room and after I calmed down, I realized I'd just have to "get ripped off" and told the first service guy, tell Brian I'd like to just get fixed for the $300 plus, the original offer, and he came back and said Brian declines your offer! Really, I have 864 credit score have given Mazda thousands of dollars in repair work, etc., and my family is due to purchase vehicles in near future and to be treated in such a manner. I have been working a state job for 20 years as a probation officer and I have NEVER been treated with such disrespect by someone in an authority position. This man needs to be reprimanded and relieved of his position as he is just pure evil. Who talks to a customer like this??????? They've lost our business forever because of this man and I will continue to speak out on what he did and let everyone I know in the community about this extremely poor and rude customer service! Oh, and I didn't mention my $200 battery was dead after I got home and my good repair car place, D & J Auto, stated it was likely that when Mazda had my car for two days they left the doors open with lights on and wore out my battery! The service department is absolutely amazing! I was out of town and had an issue with my car due to negligent service at another Mazda dealership. Luckily, I was a mile away from Mazda Lakeland. Although they were closing soon and I did not have an appointment, they still went out of their way to help get my car back on the road. I would definitely recommend going here! read more

I will never recommend this place, after how they treated my son. A reputable dealership would have put the customer first. My son was interested in the purchase of a vehicle, put a cash hold deposit down, took the car home to have his Friend who was mentoring him look over it and review the possible deal. After researching another vehicle at a different dealership in Tampa. Tampa Mitsubishi, the other vehicle which was 2017 new, less money, less miles and a lesser car payment. It was a no brainer. It was a better fit for my son. So of course he decided to go with it. Do you want to hear how Ed Morse handled loosing a sale? Well of course you do!! I am a CSR a Warranty Coordinator for a large custom home builder, I kniw what good customer service and how important it is to behave professional and not loose your cool. It's called respect and also good business practice to treat your customers well whether you sell a product or don't. What the Ed Morse dealership in Lakeland, FL did was deplorable horrible customer service and interaction. Instead of commending my son and treating the Sales Consultant from the other dealership with respect and courtesy tbey acted like fools. Everyone knows who works in sales and service you treat your customers well regardless if you loose a deal or win a deal. You do so because This customer may return in the future, so you don't burn your bridges. You want to know what these fools did? They threatened the Sales Consultant from the other dealership. They demanded her to leave the property or they would call the Police. What were they thinking?? She had every right to be on that property, with my son. When she refused to leave, the sales person and manager slammed and locked thier office door like petulant babies. Totally unprofessional. Instead of acting professional and saying to my son, I'm sorry we couldn't make this work for you Kyle, I hope in the future we can work with you again, find something just right for you. Then as good stewards in tbe Car dealership world shake hands and then also shake The Mitsubishi Sales Consultant's hand. And say to her: yes you had the better deal, thank you for taking care of Kyle, were sorry we lost him but we are happy he got the best deal for his needs. Then they should have turned to Kyle and said best of luck to you and corporate will be cutting you a check and returning your cash deposit, you should receiveve that in the mail. Instead my son has yet to get his deposit back. This was his firsf big sales deal and he left apauled at how he was treated as well as the Tampa Mitsubishi personnel, and myself, we all had a bad taste in our mouths and it was SOUR! This happened on Sunday my son has consulted an attorney who said that it was outrageous and it would be considered theft if he didn't receive his cash deposit back within a few days. So far it's been three. Their bad behavior at this dealership had a trickle down effect because they were the subject of my corporate meeting today. About poor, horrible customer service and bad behavior can cause the loss of customer retention and the opportunity to earn new business!!!!!!!!!! That's my review, pretty darn pathetic. What can change it? See my philosphy is everyone can make a mistake have poor judgement and everyone has the ability to rectify it, the ability to do the right thing. That could be with a formal written apology to the customer, to the other dealership's Sales consultant who acted with dignity and who remained professional under the circumstances, Lacey Palmer at Tampa Mitsubishi. Came in for routine oil change for our Mazda3; service personnel tried to upsell 1) new wipers (really? based on what?... they clear the windshield very well) and 2) a cabin filter AFTER we already informed them the current one WE installed merely ~4 months ago and that we would clean or replace it again when necessary to do so. read more
