Quaint brunch restaurant that is only open from Friday to Sunday. It is a very comfortable space with friendly servers. The food is good, and it was regrettable I did not have more time to come back to try out other food offerings they had. I want to definitely come back here again next time. My wife and I found this little place on Google, liked the reviews, and decided to give it a chance. We were not disappointed. The owner (also the one who curated the fabulous Spotify playlist for the restaurant ambiance) is an incredible host who always smiles and treats the patrons with respect and gentleness. The food is made from scratch in the visible kitchen, where we heard conversations and contagious laughter, like the family was having fun making their fantastic food. Good little breakfast spot. Avoid the ham and cheese sandwich, but everything else was fine. We really enjoyed the: Omelette Fresh fruit plate Hot cakes Pineapple and Chaya juice The coffee situation is a bit weird. You have to order from the cafe to the right of the entrance (apparently a separate business). Be careful when paying. I paid the cafe barista separately only to later be told by this restaurant that the coffee was already on our breakfast bill. I then had to go back to the cafe to get my money back. Overall, nice staff with mostly fresh food. Charming place, even if there was a cat roaming around the open kitchen. read more

Went here based on seeing the restaurant on food show travels in Merida. My wife ordered the chilaquiles with her eggs over easy, and I got the heuvos motulenos which I saw on the show. I got a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice that was really good. They brought us some bread and mashed black beans as we waited. My dish was really good. Really loved the ham and peas added to the dish that went with tortillas, beans, and eggs. Just the right amount of heat to the dish. My wife enjoyed her chilaquiles. read more

I've never written a yelp review before, but I'm compelled to because of how exceptionally wonderful this place is. In my short trip to mérida, I came here 3 times--definitely my favorite spot. For breakfast, they have the Mexican staples, but served with exceptional love and care, and for more than reasonable prices. For lunch they have a rotating menu that they just explain to you. Everything is done with vegan/vegetarian options, and not as an afterthought. You can tell from the adorable, homey atmosphere that this is a genuine family place that nevertheless takes hospitality very seriously. And I haven't even gotten to the craziest part yet. On my last day in Mérida, I wanted to stop in for breakfast, but when I arrived, they were closed. But the owner/chef/matriarch Lily saw me outside and asked if I was OK. When she realized that they hadn't changed the sign outside to reflect the restricted covid hours, she felt so bad that she insisted that I stay to eat anyway! Even though they were closed! The food was delicious and then when the meal was over, she tried to refuse any money from me!! She just wanted to feed me for free! She didn't know me from Adam and she tried to just give me food!! (Of course I just left what she would have charged on the menu) So in sum, don't go outside of business hours (for now, they're only open Saturdays and Sundays), don't take advantage of Lily's inconceivable generosity, but DO check out my favorite joint in the Yucatán read more

Went here due to a YouTube blogger mark Weins. Honestly wAsnt too impressed. They have a separate coffee shop you have to pay separate. My French toast was so soggy in the middle. By had a simple dish of chorizo and eggs. His was good. Nothing to rave about one helper said he could have made this at home and I agree but my French toast would have been better lol oh and watch for bugs. A real find in merida. Simple options of vegetarian or non vegetarian plates, each with 3 options. Menu changes daily. All plates came with a delicious veggie soup. It was amongst the best food we had in Mexico. And unbelievably reasonable. Veggie plate was 70 pesos & fish plate was 95 pesos. The drinks were delicious too at 30 pesos. A very homely place. I'm surprised by the great reviews this place has. I was not impressed by this place. It took at least 30 minutes to get my food. The chilaquiles verdes were not great. The omelette was ok. Wouldn't order either of them again though. While I was waiting for my food I asked for a cafe com leche. The waitress told me to go across the hall to the bar to get coffee. That seems strange to me. I walked over there and no one was there, so I gave up on the coffee. Not a place I would return to. read more

Extremely delicious breakfast. I had the fruit bowl with yogurt and granola, and the eggs with chaya. Chaya is a spinach-type vegetable. My s.o. had the juevos with tortilla and egg with plantanos on the side. Also the restaurant is very cute and the coffee is good. read more

This place somehow (through travel blogs?) managed to gain attention of tourists as THE vegetarian hotspot. The food was ok but the kind of simple and 'home made' that makes you question why you didn't just go to the grocery store and made it yourself. There's a weird pricing system where a vegan set lunch is more expensive than vegetarian. Not a question of money but WHY? I was asked if I wanted cheese on my meal and I said yes which paradoxically meant I paid less than my companion who had no cheese. Cashing out on food trends? Service was very slow and had to be asked for the bill twice even though there was more staff than customers. They let in street musicians who just started playing guitar and singing loudly in the middle of this tiny quiet room out of the blue, everyone awkwardly trying to continue their conversations. Then the duo walked up to each person and asked for tips. Sorry, each gringo (all 7 of them). The one Mexican customer present was left alone. Totally uncool and unheard of in other restaurants (unless they have their own band on site of course). Also uncool are double five stars reviews by friends and relatives from Merida (in English) to rack up the ratings. Not cool guys, there's a growing healthy food scene in Merida and you could be a part of it but don't be cheeky! Just do things well and business will come. For now disappointing. read more

La mejor! The best! Todo fresco! Everything is fresh. She cooks in her little kitchen and you can see it's with love. We ordered fruit with yogurt and a muesli like grain. Pancakes are soooo good. And her fresh juice it's mostly vegetarian. I don't eat eggs but had plenty options. read more

We had a wholesome and delicious vegetarian lunch here. Although the dish of the day was simple (brown rice, broccoli and some other veggies, and a sweet crunchy carrot/jicama salad), it was tasty. Furthermore, the tomato salsa that came out with chips and the horchata were the best we had in Mexico so far. The setting is beautiful and cozy, with great art for sale. This local restaurant is absolutely a must-go! The chef and owner, Lily/Ana(she goes by both names), is such an kind, charismatic woman. All of the food is homemade from scratch, with fresh food that she picks up from the local markets, each morning. The dining area has a view of their kitchen in the back of the restaurant. We went twice and got - Huevos Diverciados, Motuleños, Al Albañil, Omelette maiz, canela, y cilantro, Papayas, y Agua Papaya Fresca, Jugo de Naranja, y Café. All of the food was so delicious. It has that special flavor of great, true, homemade Mexican food. EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT! If you are ever in Merida, do yourself the favor and stop by. read more

The menu isn't entirely vegetarian, but they do have veg options. They have a daily rotating menu which seems to offer a fish, chicken, vegetarian, and vegan option. Every table is given some chips with salsa and black beans, which were fortunately vegetarian (most places do not have vegetarian beans- they all have lard!). I got the vegan meal that started off with a lentil soup appetizer, which was simple but tasty. My entree was a vegetable stew of sorts with okra, corn, zucchini, and cactus. It was good enough, but lacked substance or protein. The meal was cheap, the location was convenient, and the food was good enough that I would recommend it as a veg option in the Yucatan. read more

There is no chance to order anything bad here, which is big coming from someone that strongly dislikes Mexican Food. We came on a recommendation from the owner of Casa Azul, the rental place we were staying in on calle 57...side note: beautiful, well kept, and comfortable with air conditioning. Lily and the girls make everything from scratch, typically when ordered, including the Agua Fresca, so be prepared for a leisurely breakfast. We had Motuleños, pancakes, huevos divorciados, papaya con yogurt, agua de papaya, jugo de naranja, and some coffee. It was a little different having honey on pancakes, but didn't mind one bit. Everything was absolutely amazing, so we came back the next day and had huevos Al albañil, Motuleños and pancakes again because they were THAT good, and the House Omelette. Great little place right near parque Santiago. The food is delicious and I'll bet 100% home-made from start to finish. Decor is as though you were in someone's very nice house. We had Jamaica juice, mole chicken, vegetarian plate, delicious soup, French toast with ham... And one flan for dessert. Yes - we were solving several meal requirements !! All main courses came with a fresh salad, service was good. One note: the very same cheery people who prep the food also provide service.
