My water heater went out. The company that "diagnosed" the problem charged me $99 and said that…read morethis did not include the cost to replace it. The company then quoted me $2200 as the cost to replace it and reiterated that this did not include the $99 that they already charged me. So yes, had I gone with that company, it would have cost me $2300. Armed with this information, I posted pictures and exactly what the "diagnosis" said and asked for emailed quotes...to be clear I said EMAIL only. I then got no less than 10 phone calls saying "please give us a call so we can talk about your situation. Some called more than once. Lakeland Heating and Cooling (Jason) was nothing like that... $1270 flat rate to replace the water heater. Yes, thats how he replied in his email.. as I requested. He came in.. with the water heater... replaced it... and went on his way. Other companies, that followed directions, also came in higher than $2000. I am EXTREMELY satisfied with Jason and Lakeland! I had Polar install a new boiler this past winter. It took them over a half dozen visits to figure…read moreout how to get the thing working. I've now discovered when they installed the boiler, they cut wires to the air conditioning and didn't even connect the wires to the new thermostat they installed. I did witness their workers go into the attic, and can also attest their workers are shady and untrained. The company's response below is proof they are dishonest and attempting to cover up their mistake as I have photographic evidence and even their own tech was perplexed by his co-worker's negligence and admitted they messed up. He then attempted to blame a company that never even touched the thermostat (the thermostat literally has Polar's name and phone number on it as they were the one's who installed it and the last one's to touch it) or air handler to get Polar off the hook. Their OWN TECH admitted they cut the wires to the ac when he opened the thermostat! DO NOT trust this company - everything they say is a lie. They're now incommunicado and refuse to rectify the situation or so much as place a simple phone call to discuss the matter. I've filed a formal complaint with the BBB and will be initiating a lawsuit if they don't fix the situation. They've left me with no heat in the winter and no a/c in the summer. The true colors of this company are shown by the fact they'd rather argue on websites with a customer who just spent over $10k with their company, and was extremely patient while they tried to figure out how to do something as basic as install a boiler (seems like this was the first time they've ever installed a boiler), than own up to their mistake and rectify the situation or even place a phone call to discuss like adults. There are so many reputable companies of this kind - AVOID THIS COMPANY!

We scheduled them to show up a few days later - the tech who visited us was very nice. He installed the new part very quickly, made sure it worked and went on his way. They came out promptly and were extremely nice, professional and honest. They fixed everything quickly for a very reasonable price. The first company we called tried to, I assume, take advantage of the hot temperatures and gave us an astronomically high quote (7x higher than Air Source 1), which we declined. I can't recommend Air Source 1 enough. We will certainly be using them for any and all HVAC needs in the future!

Jayson evaluated the problem and kept us informed of his findings. His initial readings indicated the compressor was under performing and due to age should be replaced. Since the house was cool he rechecked the unit and found it was properly perfoming. He could have easily sold us a new unit but he didn't. He is an honest person in an honest company.
