In Phoenix for a business meeting we were hosted at the Biltmore. A lot of hype about the experience. So high expectations. Check in did not deliver on a promise of early check in. So went for food binge, yes I succumbed. They suggested Frank & Albert's. Sunny day on the patio and self seated. Waitress kept walking by for 15 minutes without eye contact and then finally she asked me if I wanted a menu. This was a restaurant seating! No hello or welcome to the "Unforgettable Stay" (hotel punch line). Went for the sweet potato fries, pretty standard but steeply priced. Then had Mahi Mahi tacos. Surprisingly bland and the soft tacos had desiccated edge with a nice chew to them. All in all, it was a fix. I am captive. If I had the choice, would have skipped it. read more

Wow to say the food prices at this resort restaurant are excessive would be an understatement. $28 for a so so breakfast burrito, unbelievable. Service was good, but prices were ridiculous. Beautiful resort though. Maybe other guests expect this, our group was shocked. read more

Decided to stay for a brunch. Dishes were expensive, bland, and very small. Our group was so disappointed. Our server was great and attentive, so we tipped him well. Additionally, some of the dishes were priced differently in the menus we were given than what the receipt said, so the server was kind to adjust that. The ambiance was lovely for a brunch, but I wouldn't want to recommend visiting. read more

I was so surprised when I saw this restaurant has only 3.5 stars before I went. After having breakfast today, I totally understand why people are underwhelmed by this place. The service was poor at best. (The staff put their heads down and walk fast. They, in whole, do not have their attention on the guests) The food was just average. The front of house staff are snotty and prefer to chat with one another than help the guests The food appears to not be prepared there at the restaurant my table split the "bakery basket" which consisted of croissants muffins and sweet rolls none of the muffins or croissants were warmed in fact they felt like they'd just been grabbed from a fridge The butter was cold as well so you couldn't even use it to spread on your bakery items I ordered the eggs Benedict and it felt reheated or microwaved - the yolk was congealed and the egg felt too mouth hot to have been a fresh cook Our waiter provided excellent service but for a Waldorf Astoria hotel this breakfast was beyond disappointing especially for the price point read more

This is a beautiful restaurant located inside The Arizona Biltmore. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. We tried breakfast and dinner and both were excellent. Breakfast - They serve buffet as well as À la Carte. Buffet is $28 and has an extensive choice of continental as well as hot items including omelette station. We didn't do buffet. They also have a kids menu and my boys loved the waffles and chocolate chip pancakes. I had the Garden Egg white omelette which was cooked to perfection, all the veggies inside were so crunchy. Happy hour - They have daily happy hour from 2-6 pm. They also do historic tours of the estate during happy hour. Dinner - Lovely ambience for dinner, great service. If you are here during weekend, highly recommend making reservations. I tried the mushroom ravioli served over red pepper coulis and topped with balsamic reduction. Was absolutely one of the best vegetarian dishes I tried. Hubby tried grilled chicken panzanella served with vegetables, burrata mousse and balsamic jus. Kids menu has all the regular things kids like. Wine menu is excellent and they have some great wines under $10 read more

We were staying at the Biltmore and didn't really feel like leaving the property for dinner, so we gave this spot a try. Our server, Christian, was very friendly and responsive. He also knew a lot of great stories about the resort. There were a lot of interesting choices on the menu. I'm usually not much of a drinker, especially mixed drinks, but I was in the mood, so I tried The Spritz (very manly, I know). It was decent, but not great, especially for a $15 drink. As for the food, I went with the Sonoran Pizza, which was unique and quite tasty. My daughter tired a different pizza, the Southwest Traditional, and she ate the whole thing! My wife enjoyed the tortilla soup with the Sonoran Caesar salad, wile my other daughter tried the soup with the hummus appetizer. We were all pretty stuffed by the end, but the dessert menu was pretty attractive too. After some deliberation, I swayed the vote to the Tableside S'mores - definitely the right choice! If you are staying at the Biltmore, I would definitely recommend that you pay a visit to Frank & Albert's! read more

As I mentioned in my review for the resort this place is found in I am generally surprised with the lack of dining options that match the scale of the resort. Yes, this place is actually deceivingly big but I can also imagine that under the wrong circumstances it might be impossible to get in. For a breakfast and dinner experience this was thankfully not the case either time. Breakfast was the Huevos rancheros and they were really very good. For dinner the Freshly Smashed Avocado -- GF Customize your smashed avocado and crispy corn chips with these ingredients: Pico de Gallo, Mango Pico, Chopped Bacon, Queso Fresco, Toasted Pepitas and the AZ Prime Ribeye Steak -- GF Aged Cheddar Potato Au Gratin, Grilled Asparagus, Roasted Tomato, Red Wine Demi-Glace were surprisingly good experiences. Overall, there are better options off site and nearby -- however, if that is too much to do Frank & Albert's is an extremely good backup plan. read more

The breakfast here is absolutely disgusting (well, I guess it's okay if you like highly packaged food that is thrown into a microwave and put on your plate). It's clear there is no effort made for presentation or even to make it seem half-way decent. We had eggs, chicken sausage, hash browns, acai bowl and kids pancakes. The kids pancakes were decent, but it's hard to mess those up. We also had dinner from here the night before and it was equally as bad. Now I know why President Obama skipped the Biltmore on his recent visit. He must have been informed about the Pork Belly and the Corned Beef from Frank and Alberts. The atmosphere is mostly very impressive. It's very rich and airy. It's very cool Frank Lloyd Wright but with a retro diner kind of feel. A few things about the atmosphere were not impressive. Dirty Salt and pepper shakers and crumbs on the floor. I also noticed bowls of tortilla chips just sitting out getting stale and dusty on the line the whole time we were seated. I ordered the house made corned beef sandwich. When it arrived I thought it looked OK and took a bite. All I could taste was sauerkraut. Then I took a piece of meat out to try. It felt slimey and was very fatty. I cut off the fat and tasted the meat and it seemed corned but lacked the spices that flavor the meat. It was pretty tasteless and was just slimey and fatty. I gave a piece to my husband to try and he also said it seemed slimey to him and tasteless. I was hoping our waitress would check on us but she didn't. I asked my husband how his Pork Belly BLT was. He said the porkbelly and roll was very dry, the bacon was good and the tomatoes were old. I didn't know how dry the porkbelly was until I got home and feed some to my dogs. It was the driest piece of meat I ever felt in my life. It was so dry that if you rubbed your skin with it you could cut yourself on it. I thought my sandwich was awful but after feeling that porkbelly I think his sandwich was worst and both sandwiches were served with cold fries. We were NEVER checked on or asked how our meal was. I know I should have found a manager to complain to but sometimes you just get so bummed you don't feel like it. This was suppose to be an extra special meal out at an exceptional place. These sandwiches cost about $16.00 each. Fortunately I have a Scottsdale Preferred Card and had one meal off the check but even if the meals were free they'd still be horrible. I don't know if my exsperience is typical or not. If you still want to give them a try after reading my review you have to do a valet park or park yourself in the garage that's around a little way from the restaurant. read more

This reviews is for Valentine's Day. My husband and I reserved a nice table close to the fireplace and it was given to us promptly at 7:30 when we showed up. The restaurant has a luxurious entrance of the Hilton resort which also offers other bars and another restaurant. We already looked at the menu online so we were excited to try all the dishes. The food was OUTSTANDING!!! The caviar spaghetti had real black caviar and the lemon sauce fit perfectly with it. Lobster and steak were also good and cooked how we ordered them. The only reason why I don't give five stars was the service. Our water did not really know the menu, nor he could answer our questions. The wine selection is very limited. No red Italian wines. Too bad. Because that's what we sped the most money on. Was it a nice Valentine's Day? Yes. Will we return? We guess not. Perhaps our expectations will be met at the other restaurant in the resort. read more

This meal was supposed to be our celebration meal while staying at the WA Biltmore. Reservations set up from Ocatilla lounge with a concierge - none of her reservation notes were ever brought up. We were seated immediately and at a nice table. However the couple behind my wife has some pretty fresh language for a Waldorf restaurant and we almost asked to be reseated. We aren't prudes we just don't appreciate F this and F that at a nice restaurant, save that for your local bar. Our wine order took a long time as my Pinot had been put in a normal fridge and was 35 degrees. They didn't want to serve it but also didn't want to replace it, they wanted me to wait for it to warm up. Crazy right? Wait for wine? Things got better the food was very good. My wife's steak was spot on for temp and vey tender. Balsamic glaze was interesting. I didn't like it but my wife was trying to figure out how to replicate it at home. The meatloaf was a very large portion and wasn't dry like some can be. The fried onions on top made a nice crunch to go with the softness of the meatloaf. Great beef flavor too. The prices for the wine were a tad high. $25 for a 9'oz pour. We had $100 in wine for 2 glasses each. Yikes. We need to learn to like the same wine. read more

Frank & Alberts is on-site at the Arizona Biltmore Hotel so you're probably coming here because your company is paying for your room and you don't have a car. Lucky for you it's delicious. Service was great, food was great, drinks were great so everything is great. When I was in my room I noticed that they had a short rib mac & cheese on the room service menu. I got a hankering for this mac & cheese so when we came to the restaurant to eat I expected it to be on the menu, however it was not. Guess what? They made it for me anyway. It was delicious. The cheesecake is made in house and I highly recommend it. You should come here. read more

Food is decent but the service was below par. Came in at 1:00 pm as a single diner on a Friday afternoon. Was seated promptly by the hostess but everything service wise was terrible. Maybe a total of 10-15 people in the entire place. It took the waiter 10 min to come around introduce himself. I placed my order right away with him. Water was brought along with my iced tea but never refilled. After food was brought by another server I asked for a refill, no refill of either water or tea was given and no follow up on how my burger was prepared was asked. I sure hope this is not a continued behavior pattern by their wait staff. read more

Not only did we wait over two hours for our food but when it eventually came it was below average. We came in with a reservation at 11 am. We were told they would seat us at 11:15. At 11:15 they informed us that it would be another 20 minutes before we could be seated since the kitchen was backed up. Why accept reservations if you're not going to honor that time? Once seated we waited to order until 11:45 and then waited over an hour for our food. Although we were the first to be seated we saw countless tables get their food prior even though ours were a simple burger and sandwich. The pricing was outrageous for what you got and the ambiance and service hardly reflected an establishment you would pay $30 for a burger. Our water were never filled, the extra settings never picked up and my partner had to flag the waiter down to get another drink.... Not to mention the orders not including the sauces and extra cost items specifically requested. Save yourself the headache and don't go. One of the worst experiences I've had in a while. read more

We ordered some vegetarian appetizers and our waiter, Fabian, realized that we were vegetarian and offered us a special vegetarian menu that we didn't know they had. We were extremely impressed. My fiancé ordered the vegetarian burrito, and I ordered the vegan grilled cheese and tomato soup. We were extremely impressed that this hotel offered such delicious vegetarian and vegan options. This review is long over due. I love the Biltmore. The hotel is a gorgeous hotel with a history. I could easily sit at the bar or lounge all day and just look at the architecture. I have done many stay vacations here but as a local I never think to simply come and dine here. There are so many choices and great restaurants in Phoenix. If a resort/hotel brand like the Waldorf has a restaurant onsite. (Which they are required to for their star rating) , if they are going to spend the money to keep it modern, spend the money to attract guests. Wouldn't you think In this day and age with Yelp/trip advisor and other review sites, that this type of High-Elegant resort/hotel brand would be smart to not only capture the attention of its guests and their money. Money that their guests will be naturally be spending to eat. (We all must eat) but that also the Waldorf would create a restaurant to attract the hotels neighbors and the locals who frequent the restaurants around them. Walking into the hotel via The free Valet, walking through the hotel to Frank and Alberts. To have a non aggressive marketing sign of upcoming events in the restaurant, then to walk into a nice bar, friendly smiling reception, bartender. To be greeted and thanked for coming in by every waiter I walk by. To have the manager being charming with her staff as we approached and then also receive that same charm in her greeting is an absolute wow factor. As proud Yelp elites; We started taking names immediately! Ken was our server. Handsome, friendly and exceptional forward thinking service. Absolutely would return and ask for him to be our server. The manager Mina is absolutely professional and again exceptional and engaging. The hostesses were welcoming. The whole staff seem to genuinely greet us and that is nice and personalizes our experience. The deconstructed tamale, the crushed avocado are tasty. The meatloaf, burger and steak are perfection. The mini desserts are fun and done well. Omg... the cheese/jalapeño bread is mouth watering. They have beer with food tasting (local breweries) Can't wait to try those and can't wait to bring my friends and colleagues. Good job Biltmore. WOW! I am so happy to have the hotel back up and running. Tonight we stoped into the Wrights bar and the staff was so welcoming and ready. It was a Friday night happy hour with new people and they were ready to bring it. Ayla, Ryan and Tristan were wonderfully. We then went to have dinner at F&As and John was perfect. We had two salads, the pea risotto and the wedge. Both were great! The pea risotto was light and different that would serve as a meal if someone wanted a light dinner. The wedge was a big hit. How can you go wrong with think bacon and blue cheese. We both had the Friday special of fish and chips. PERFECT serving portion and everything was wonderfully hot. The new Chef has a desire for an interesting comfort menu with delivering great food. I can't wait to come back. I wonder what they have for breakfast. read more

After a tour of Taliesin West we decided to visit the Biltmore Resort to soak up some more Frank Lloyd Wright. We invited another couple to come along. It was busier there than we expected for a Tuesday lunch. We had the humus and the guacamole appetizers. One had the burger, two had salads, I had the zabuton (Denver) steak. This was my first ever zabuton steak and the chef did an excellent job preparing it. The whole experience is very interesting, although unfortunately we missed the guided tour that is at 11am and 1pm on only 2-3 days per week. read more

The salad was bland and I ordered dressing on the side, unfortunately they put it in a dish on the side but it tipped over and so I had a pool of dressing. Service was inattentive. Forgettable experience but one of a couple places in the hotel complex open for lunch so not a lot of options. read more

So I've been here twice. Once in Feb 22 and the last this month. I'm averaging my score. First time was great. They had Seedlip cocktails and the fish tacos were perfect. Second time was not. We had the $42 Brunch Buffet. Not worth it. Dried-out charcuterie board with good pastries. I also ordered the avocado toast. What I got, didn't match the menu description. No pickled veggies. What's worse is it tasted like guacamole from a bag. They did put fresh avocado on top...but not enough to save the dish. And they got rid of the Seedlip cocktails. read more

I'm Really Not a Fan of Hotel Restaurants, but this One was OK. This restaurant has an amazing patio and if the weather is good, ask to sit outside. It's very comfortable and the layout just works with the architecture. I was on a work-trip, with about 50 colleagues and the kitchen churned out a good meal, considering how they had to prep, time, and coordinate everything for a four-course meal for 50 hungry people. We started with the Local Corn Tortilla Chips with Guacamole and Roasted Tomato Salsa. It's avocados from the Southwest--hard to go wrong here, just smash and serve, right? The roasted salsa was delicious and flavorful, with a slight bite. We were then served a Mixed Greens Salad, a medley of local greens, heirloom carrots, blue cheese, pecans, drizzled with a prickly pear vinaigrette. It was a little on the small side, but done very well--the vinaigrette was a perfect balance of sweet and tart. The entree was a Zabuton Steak and Pasilla Roasted Chicken, served with roasted potatoes, and seasonal mixed vegetables. This was a little but of a letdown only because it was heavy on the meat. I would have liked a smaller steak and more seasonal vegetables. However, they were cooked well despite having to crank out 50 of them. We finished the meal with the Eclairs, Cream Puffs, and Pecan Tarts. Those were all a disappointment because miniaturizing dessert typically yeild an off-balance ratio of sweets to pastries (i.e., filling to crust). None of them were worth the calories. Overall, this was a solid 3.5 Stars, but since I can't rate on the half-star, I will round down on this one. For a convenient and decent meal on the hotel grounds, I would recommend coming here. read more

Pretty mediocre overall, especially for the prices. The spinach cream dip was stellar and my dad got the Fire Extinguisher drink that he liked very much (I might have named that incorrectly but I think it's close). My sister got the crispy chicken salad and the chicken is served cold so it's not remotely crispy - very disappointing. It was also overcooked and dry (even visibly). My dad got the ribs and he said they were good and so was the coleslaw (vinegar based). Fries were unremarkable. My sister's boyfriend got the pasta and said it was good. I got the margarita pizza and it's very thin, which seems great, but it's incredibly floppy. Couldn't see any tomatoes and there were three small pieces of basil on a 12-14 inch size pizza. Looked like a cheese pizza. Sauce was flavorful and the outer crust was good, but definitely underwhelming for $25. All portions were very generous (unnecessarily since it wasn't great). Overall, the pizza was $25, half rack ribs was $38, pasta with chicken was around $40, and the salad was $28-ish. Compared to prices shown on google even 7 months ago, meals look like there was a price hike. Would come back for a drink and the spinach app (and the environment), but never for a full meal again. read more

Stayed at the Biltmore for 4 nights during the off-season and went here three times. The first time I went was for happy hour as they have a reasonably priced menu. Had a beer, some wine, and guac. It was good. The second time was for dinner as Wright's didn't have space for us. We got some drinks and ordered wings and pizza. It was better than I thought it would be. Where both times struggled was the service. There was a bartender who was working both times (I can't remember her name. I think it started with a B). Her service was great. She was friendly and working hard. She was working extremely hard as she was bartending while also serving all the tables near the bar. It would take a few extra minutes to get in an order and get drinks, but no fault of her own. I simply think someone should have been staffing the seating area. This could be a result of it being offseason, but the hotness should be able to help out when not seating people. The third time we came in for breakfast. It was pretty good. I particularly remember the home fries. I remember them so vividly because they were good. I say this because it can be so easy to make bland home fries and under-season them. They were seasoned so well that non-condiment was needed. All in all, good HH, food is better than you might expect, though expect a little higher price, and the service could be better organized. read more

Not only did I enjoy sitting outside for a lovely ladies business lunch at Frank & Albert's last week, but I enjoyed the best Cobb salad ever! I'm picky about chicken and this was excellent quality and delicious rotisserie chicken they used. The combo of the other ingredients (lettuce, tomato, egg, avocado, bacon, and black olives) along with the green goddess dressing was superb. It was a beautiful presentation too! My dining companions' meals looked amazing as well. I saw the Biltmore Bistro Burger, the Grilled Fish Tacos, and the B.A.L.T. (their Tuesday Blue Plate Special). We devoured pretty much everything on the table too... The service was a tad on the slow side but it was also a packed restaurant. I will have to return for breakfast, dinner, and/or happy hour too as all of their menus look outstanding. The bar/drinks menu alone has something for everyone with economy friendly prices. If you have not yet been to the Arizona Biltmore, this new restaurant is reason to go... and since this year marks the Biltmore's 80th Birthday, there is a ton of history in the resort as well. read more
