Father, Son, & Son are chiropractors, and Mom is standby office asst for staff time off. They still focus on personal relationships; remembering our interests, and will ask how the weekend plans went on the first visit of the week (recalling Thursday's discussion). A lost art in today's fast-paced lifestyle that the McAuliffe's have mastered! As for me, I drive by the office on my way home from DC 2-days a week. My schedule fluctuates and ... then there's the traffic. That said, if I'm 30 min late, no problem. If my wife & son make it in separately, I just go in alone. If I miss a day I just pop in the next day. If I miss 2 visits in a row, I get a call asking if I'm OK and to see when I'll make it by - WOW! For the price, I've read all the others saying they were excessive. I wholeheartedly think those posts are exaggerated at 3x to 5x or even higher than the actual price quote. I pay less for chiropractic for my family of 3 than my monthly internet/cell service. I've seen chiropractors in VA, GA, and researched the Laurel area, and McAuliffe Chiropractic had on par or better prices than all others. Their intake process takes a few days (x-ray, review, one-on-one consult, and personalized health plan). This IS the industry standard prior to an adjustment. 4 chiropractors in 3 states - they all had a similar process. Don't be soured by the first 3 days of a 2 year (or decade) relationship. Anything less would be shortsighted and medically ill-advised. In summary, Dr. T has focused on wellness through routine service. He doesn't run a "fly by night chiro service;" and you won't find "pay 'em and forget 'em" chiropractic here. I live with nine neck and spine issues. The doctors and staff here are simply wonderful! I came in with severe back pain, barely able to stand up and walk. My 1984 U.S. Army Airborne School Jump Week injuries just got worse over four decades. I suffered a crash-and-burn landing during the required Night Jump. I have military neck, which means I've lost the natural curve of my cervical spine. This causes all kinds of issues. Through adjustments and x-rays, I was well on my way to address my nine neck and back conditions. Try to stay positive. This is indeed a deliberate and proven process that takes time and your committment. The atmosphere here is uplifting! The doctors take whatever time is necessary to address your question and concerns. I feel as though I'm speaking with my friends when there. I'm sticking with this office, go to StretchLab, and see an acupuncturist every week. This combination works for my body. I highly recommend this practice for all your chiropractic needs. Like a couple other reviews have said, they're like car salesman. I went in for the first time cause of some back pain, so I was hoping to get an x-ray to make sure it wasn't anything drastic. I was told that the x-ray would be a $47 "patient special." I went in, talked with one of the chiropractors about what I was dealing with and took some x-rays. Went back a couple days later to take a look at them. It wasn't anything too serious but they proposed a "treatment plan" that was just for me. They gave me 3 different prices that ranged from 900-1200. The prices were dependent on the payment method. If I payed it all upfront it would have been the cheapest price, monthly was in between and then per session was the highest price ($25 per session). It was a lot of money to consider so I wanted to take a day or so to think about it. I said this but they continued as if I had agreed to go through with the whole plan and that I could decide how to pay next time. I then got what I thought was a trial run of the treatment that consisted of a 5 mins massage and then another 5 mins laying on a massage table machine. Afterwards I tried relaying that I wasn't sure about the treatment and that I wanted time to think about it, but the respond I kept getting was "you can decide that next time you're in on how to pay." I was running late for work so I kind of gave up and left. I called back a couple days later and told them I wasn't going to go through with it and the receptionist put the owner on to try and talk me out. He tried to guilt/pressure me but it didn't matter, it was out of my budget. The next week I get a call from the office saying I owe them $25 for the first session that I wasn't even aware of that they charged for. At no point did anybody mention that my 10 min session after going in to look at my x-rays would be charged. They said it was explained to me, I said it wasn't...he said she said. I have no clue if the treatment works, maybe it does but just be aware of the hidden charges and pushy sales tactics of this place. read more

Go elsewhere! I would not refer this place to an enemy. Why? I found this place in a google search based on proximity to my home. I was in a lot of pain and desperate for relief. From the moment I walked through the door they had this long drawn out process you have to go through just to be seen - beyond the normal medical history and insurance screening. They put you in a room snd give you material to read then they move you to another smaller room and give you a quiz. IM NOT MAKING THIS UP. Next came the xrays and then a one on one with the DR. He spent 20 minutes trying to persuade me to signup for a 3 thousand dollar treatment program BEFORE he treated me! Im guessing in hopes that the current pain i was in would help motivate me. He treated me after I told him I would give it serious thought. The treatment helped but the next visit was more of the same pressure tactics. I told him so and have never returned read more

I go to prevent having to take pain killers and muscle relaxers for my back. It's a chronic problem I got in the military so I don't expect miracles. They are always there when I need them. I get a good crack/pop and that keeps me going. If I lived closer I'd go more often. No complaints, been going for years. It would be nice if they had a masseuse for after the adjustment. I do that for the times I can't make it to them and it works okay as an extra. Friendly staff, clean office, low wait times, and lots of parking. If you only want a one and done, they may not be for you. If you keep up regular visits you will see results, I promise. Since going to them, I only have 1 serious episode a year, if that, where I'm laid up and unable to function, and the bottle of pills stays closed. read more

Loved that there was measurable means of tracking improvements but the aggressive sales tactics are noted. As well as the timer on my table being turned off by the owner of the practice ahead of time. Lastly a very tall dr with poor bedside manor sealed the deal for me. My experience with "Jr" was disappointing. My back still hurts and I left a little upset. My job has me traveling for work every week in a different town. It isn't always possible for me to go to my home chiropractor. When I'm having a more painful week, it is normal for me to stop by a local chiropractor for a simple adjustment to help ease the pain. Upon arrival, Jr. refused to give me an adjustment. He explained to me how it takes more than 1 visit, which I obviously agree with, but since I'm not home right now it isn't very helpful. He made me feel stupid for wanting a one time adjustment. He was trying to say it politely, but it was honestly a little insulting. "What's the point of adjusting you if it's going to hurt you again next week?" He said with a laugh (I'm not exaggerating-it was a little surprising). The point is I'm in pain and I will have to suffer that pain all week until i can get home. The dialogue continued: "Since I can't help you today... is there anything you can think of that you could do to help yourself?" "I'm just spitballing here but maybe you should find somebody you can see more regularly. I tried to explain to him my situation but all he said was "I don't know how chiropractors are in other parts of the county, but around here we don't do that. I never adjust someone on the first visit" He then apologized if someone gave me the wrong idea when my appointment was made. I understand he has a "rule" that he doesn't adjust on the first visit, but I don't understand how he couldn't empathize with my pain and make an exception to that rule. read more

I want to see the McAuliffe chiropractics because I had some pain in my lower back and they took Medicare. They took a bunch of x-rays and said it would help me to see what was going on.it was covered by a special of $37. The next day the doctor reviewed the x-rays with me, and told me they could put together a treatment plan which would involve three times a week visit for three months and then visit somewhere between once a week and once a month. The three month cost would be at least $880, and that would be if I paid upfront and the rate would be that low because I have Medicare. I asked if I could get an adjustment that day and was told that couldn't happen unless I had a treatment plan. That should've said upfront and in their web site that they only did treatment with a treatment plan and that it would be very expensive. So, unless you looking for an expensive treatment plan I would suggest you look elsewhere for a chiropractor. read more

McAuliffe Chiropractic is a revolving door with everyone getting the same treatment.  Yes, you are greeted with enthusiasm.  As mentioned below, if you do not agree to their treatment plan they will not treat you. My friend was not treated because of this.   If the dial on the massage bed goes beyond the 7 minutes either the Dad ( Dr. McAuliffe ) or one of his sons will take your hand & help you off so the assembly line continues on...  I am in greater pain now since their manipulation.  Truly wish I had never gone for the treatments.  Their practice is marketing hype. read more

Chiropractic care is a life long whole body approach to wellness. As we go through our daily lives we use are bodies (sometimes over use or abuse our bodies). I have been receiving Chiropractic care for going on four decades and specifically with McAuliffe for the last several years. The team at McAuliffe are personable, knowledgeable, and willing to work with each patient to meet their unique needs. In keeping with the Chiropractic philosophy of whole body wellness, the office holds occasional seminars on topics such as healthy eating and exercise. And during the winter months they run a food drive and hat/mitten drive. I have been to other chiropractors but this office is just beyond anything you could imagine. The staff is SO nice. Melissa and Carolina go above and beyond in every way to answer questions, help you out, show you around, and provide the BEST service I have ever received in any doctor's office. NO exaggeration Initially you set a consultation appointment where you get an x-ray done and the doctor looks at your back and talks with you in detail. Dr. T is always concerned about you. Even though he has hundreds of people coming in and out every day, he knows what's going on with you, checks on you and makes you feel like he cares. His office is truly the most efficient office I have ever experienced. You go in, lay down for an adjustment where you are seen RIGHT away and then you lay on a massage table for about 5-10 minutes. Although you're in and out, it still feels like everyone there will take their time with you somehow. I go twice a week because that's all I can afford (which by the way, they will work you out a payment plan so you don't have to go through your insurance!) and it never takes long. They always work with me if I need to change my appointments. I have such an improvement with my back and was a faithful patient for years until I moved away, now my back problems are back and I miss Dr. T!! I swear by him.
