I came here for the Memorial Day ceremony. I had never been to this park before and didn't know it had memorial plaques for people in our city who died in various wars. The ceremony included reading each of their names out loud and placing a rose on the plaque that matched the war they died in. WWII had the most roses and deaths. They had one of the fire trucks lift up a huge American flag next to the regular sized flags of the branches of our military which surround a pilar with a live flame. There was also a live band, singers, and flybys by planes in formation. It was a very solemn and respectful ceremony to honor those who died on duty. After the ceremony, I stayed at the park for a bit longer laying a towel on the grass under a tree. I don't know if it was just the spot I picked, but even though it was really grassy, underneath it was really muddy, like when I finally got up my towel was soaked through and so was my back. Then I got lost trying to find where I parked because the park is bigger than it looks and has 3 parking lots. I thought there was only 1, so I didn't pay that much attention when I walked towards the ceremony. When I tried getting back to my car I honestly thought it might have been towed. Now I know there's a parking lot by the building that leads to the swimming pool, another next to the swimming pool itself so you can actually see the water, and the last one is next to the tennis courts and baseball field. This doesn't include the parking spots all around the perimeter of the park. The park is clean, has plenty of playgrounds for children, tables and benches to eat at, and a public restroom. It's not the quietest of parks, though, since there are so many children and it's next to a busy intersection, like during the ceremony a trash truck and a random car honked their horns in support of the ceremony. Such a wonderful park. There is plenty of parking and it is SO clean! The play structures look brand new and they have an area for smaller kids and for bigger ones. I love the soft flooring here, making it a little extra safe if your little one takes a tumble. They really had everything here! Slides, swings, a seesaw, rock wall and so much more. There are lots of surrounding grassy areas and picnic benches around if you want to picnic. The trees provide some shade around the park, but only a few of the picnic areas have shade. You can reserve these for birthday parties and other gatherings! It really wasn't that crowded and there are benches along the outskirts of the playground for parents to sit. They also have bathrooms and tennis courts. Really my only "complaint' is that trash cans were so hard to find! I'd love to see some more around the park. read more

Date: August 19, 2025 This is our third visit to this park. The first time we came it was completely different and the second time was when I realized that they completely remodeled both playgrounds within a 8 month period!! So crazy! It is SO beautiful!! They have two playground structures, a bigger one and a smaller one. The smaller one is fully shaded which is amazing. The bigger one is semi shaded which isn't too bad either. Love the variety of things the kids can play with. Parking is pretty spacious but all along the street. They have so many amenities here that I haven't even checked it all out. Tennis courts, basketball courts, playground, baseball field, restrooms w/ changing tables, cafe, and who knows what else! Tons of grass area and covered picnic tables. Water fountains and clean restrooms. What more could you ask for? Definitely will be coming back often!! read more

I found this park via maps when looking for spots to take my pup, Twinkle. McCambridge Park is fairly large, with tennis courts, a large lawn with some picnic tables, playground, etc. I've come to prefer parking near the tennis courts, as that keeps us off the street parking, and the side near the courts tends to be more clean. The lawn area can sometimes be littered with some trash, or a few transients rolling through. Overall, it's very open and safe feeling. We do enjoy our walks here! read more

Very nice, relaxing park! I stopped here and found a bit of shade just to relax for a bit while waiting for my cat to get groomed. It was quiet, with a nice breeze and very relaxing to take a moment and just enjoy the outdoors for a bit. A really cool playground that's tailored to toddlers. I've taken my 2.5 year old daughter here a couple of times and she loves it. It's not as shaded as I would like but there's two playgrounds and a cafe with yummy food. read more

First time taking the time to walk around the park and explore what's happening at this recreational park and I would visit again. Overall, it is adequately clean but there are some areas that are neglected such as the areas further away / behind the Mccambridge Pro Shop and the entrance. The front of the shop area and the grass at the front seem to be well maintained with little to no trash. Again, the back of the park could use some more work with the litter and I saw some big piles of dog poop not picked up after in the grass area of the ballpark. Also, I also encountered a chewed up rabbit's hind legs at the back of the park on the concrete walkway. As a tennis player and swimmer, I would love to be active at this park and be involved but I looked into this and it seems the only way is to pay for one-time usage/ monthly/ or annual pass and checking out the prices, it looks costly...speaking as a Burbank Resident. The resident/ non- resident senior discount isn't attractive either quite frankly compared to the regular pricing which is disappointing to the aging community! I'm glad this park is open to the public and hope some improvements can be made to get this place a little more affordable and accessible for people to have incentive to check this place out and stick around! read more

I wanted to say it's 5/5 but it was quite a strange feeling when I went to the restroom. There as several homeless people here and you definitely should be aware of your surroundings. I thought the park looked clean. I use to go to day camp here in the 90s. I've been here over 500 times just never Yelped it. I first had RC Cola here and went swimming. We love working out around here. They have 2 baseball fields, tennis courts, 2 play grounds and lots of grass space for lounging. There is also an outdoor and indoor basketball court available to the public. The grounds people do such a great job keeping the park clean. One of my favorite parks in the city of Burbank. It's a huge park with lots of inside and street parking available. It even has three facilities on site that includes Burbank Tennis Center, Recreation Center, and Aquatic Center. Among the many amenities here are Ball Fields (lighted), Tennis Courts (lighted), Basketball Court (gymnasium & outdoor), Bocce Ball Court, and Aquatic Pool. There's also two playgrounds here, one for toddlers and the other one, for young kids. This park is perfect for picnics because there are several Picnic Areas. There's also a nice Gazebo in the middle of the park. Lots of mature trees that give a lot of shade. Well maintained lawn with green grass where you can lay down and rest. In case you get hungry or thirsty, you don't need to leave because there's a restaurant inside the park. It is conveniently located by the tennis courts. This park definitely has everything you need so come by and check it out. read more

McCambridge Park is a great spot for outdoor activities, with well-maintained facilities and scenic views.

This is a nice park, lots of open space & it is well maintained. The playground is nice for kids & the lawn makes for a nice stroll when you are in the neighborhood. It does get crowded though, especially on weekends when there are often birthday parties or other gatherings. One caveat, make sure you understand the tennis courts are not public. They are pay-to-play and not very cheap. You can get a membership if you want to play often though, and the courts are very well maintained. read more

The park is fairly big and the grounds are taken care of. The two playgrounds were nice. However, the bathrooms were the worst! The sinks look like they haven't been cleaned in years. It was just gross. The bathrooms as a whole need some work. I was happy to see there weren't any undesired people hanging around. (Although I did see them later, after our event.) One of my sons favorite parks to ride his bike and play basketball. He calls it the tennis park. Haha... it's because there are few tennis courts inside the park and also he used to take tennis classes years back. It's a beautiful park with a huge playground for kids. Lots of big trees and picnic tables all around. Great place to spend an afternoon walking, playing and having a picnic. There is also a cafe right by the tennis court that serves good food and cold drinks. Also a great place to have a kids birthday party. Just get a permit from the city and you are all set. read more

Lovely park in Burbank that is safe, clean, and perfect for any park event. Great playground that's all shaded with lots of benches for parents (but it has sand! Be prepared.) Lots of grass and we saw a birthday party being set up nearby. Super clean bathrooms with warm water and actual soap! There is some parking by the tennis center with easy access to the playground. The clientele at this park is definitely nicer than the average park - lots of people exercising, walking dogs, families with kids. There's a cafe in the park but we didn't check it out this time. We spent all morning here and my kids had so much fun. We'll definitely be back! read more

McCambridge Park in Burbank has been a favorite place for me to hang around since moving here in 2014. There are plenty things to do to keep active here. I usually just walk in circles. It's like 2 blocks big of full park (horizontal & vertical) and everything has a place. People picnic, they have group exercise classes like yoga/crossfit/step aerobics... Softball, baseball, tennis, joggers, walkers, playgrounds for tots to preteens, basketball courts, movies in the park, and there's plenty more... I'm relaxing writing this Yelp Review at the park. The Fitness Center Store is always closed on Mondays. They changed the Cafe name. So maybe the menu is different. It used to be an American and (Asian like) Thai Menu. My family loves this park!!! It's great for kids. The kids play area is separated into toddlers and big kids which is great because older kids could get a little crazy. Tennis courts: you can reserve some or sometimes just walk in and play. They have lots. Basketball courts: there's only one full court. It's always busy so if you're up for a pick up game just let the guys know. Lawn bowling: it's available but never really seen anybody use it. Baseball field: There's always some type of activity going on. Kids league or just a family playing around. The park has lots of running space. Sometimes I see families setting up a volleyball net. Basically, the ownership of a park was a status-symbol worth noting. If this representation of wealth is still accepted, then the city of Burbank is loaded with moolah with its presentation of the McCambridge Park Recreation Center. Now THIS is a park, ladies and gents! McCambridge Park is more than just a dinky, grassy knoll... it is a hub of activity that can be best compared to a town center. McCambridge park is HUGE, easy on the eyes, and well-maintained. It has the standard green grass, shady trees, bike paths, and open space which we are all familiar with concerning a neighborhood park while being supplemented with picnic tables for your next lunch and plenty of trashcans to keep nature clean. Not to mention, a bounty of parking so that no one feels left out of the fun. However, besides the 'usual', McCambridge Park also kicks it up a notch and offers: baseball fields, tennis courts, basketball courts, a playground for the tykes and for older children, a rec center with a pool and classes/lessons, and restrooms to empty those bladders. Parents will be pleased with the awesome playground apparatus which is clean, in great shape, and includes fun climbing gear like mini-mountain walls. Even better? You don't have to worry about the sunset and dusk settling in as McCambridge Park has strong, plentiful lighting. Not only does it make safety a top priority; but results in the park being busy (in a good way) even during late hours. Don't be surprised to find basketball games whooping it up and teens taking walks even at 9pm. On the other hand, if you are seeking a quiet and romantic walk in the park; you won't find it here. This isn't the solitude hideaway that some seek and is instead a hoppin', fun place to be. It is loud and hectic but regardless, an AMAZING park. McCambridge Park is beauty and entertainment (for free!) combined with nature at its finest and simply can't be beat. In fact, I would venture to say this is the best neighborhood park in the area. Came here for my BFF's baby boy's first birthday. The party was inside the recreation hall. As soon as we got there, my daughter wanted to play on the playground. We got there a little early. There were park tables outside and two playgrounds for kids. As we walked to the recreation center, they have a big basketball court, tennis court and a pool below. It is a very nice and clean park. The restrooms were near the kiddy playground where all the toddlers play at. I really enjoyed the sitting on the bench under the shade. It was a warm day. When we entered the recreation hall, there was air conditioning inside. Very clean. I enjoyed myself at the party. The tables were decorated with kids stuff including a balloon on each table. This review is not for the park itself (really nice park with lots of amenities) but for the TODDLER PARK. The sand is so low and there's this mix of rubber flooring and my kids just kept slipping on it. Bloody knees, elbows...the slide and the bridge are also very steep as well. Especially the slide! A dad didn't realize and his maybe 1 yr old son went down sooo fast it scared the baby. I can't even count the times my kids fell before we decided to move to the grass. For reference my kids are 3&4. We were also here with a friend and her son (4 as well) and he was falling and getting cut up too. Can't image a newly walking baby/toddler trying to navigate this poorly designed park. Even I slipped twice and I saw another dad slip as well. The older kid park is cool but is SO HIGH! Obviously my children are too young for it but it is so high that any child, even an adult falling off could get seriously injured if falling the wrong way. Scraped knees are no big deal but I wanted to write this review for younger kids parents but mostly in hopes the park itself will see. The ground either needs to be all sand or all rubber not both! Now that I've looked I see multiple reviews complaining about the sand/rubber. I'm bummed because this park is awesome. So much room for parties, sports, lots of grass and parking. Bummer. read more

Word to the wise...be mindful of flying objects like baseballs, footballs, frisbees, kites, and soccer balls as well as out-of-control kids on bikes, inline skates, skateboards, and tricycles (although there are signs that prohibited these). You never knew when any of these are headed your way. The service was non-existent; it's a park for goodness sake! Parking was free and ample both with their own lot and along all the surrounding streets like San Fernando Rd. Overall, McCambridge Park Recreation Center has been a favorite of mine since I worked at the nearby Sport Chalet in the Media Center Mall so long ago when my coworkers and I grabbed Tommy's for lunch or dinner and kicked it here while we washed down the grub with some adult beverages. Sure, I've used the facilities like the baseball diamonds, basketball court, and tennis courts, but usually it was to just chill. I found complete value as there was no need for money (unless you ate at the Thai place), and anytime you can find a nice place to relax and take your kids to, you can't go wrong. On this particular warm sunny day, the birthdays and bounce houses were in full-swing! The atmosphere and decor was outdoorsy (obviously!); you're in a park! Wear comfortable clothes and slap on some sunblock. The attire was totally casual, so I was in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. I love this place. Yes, sometimes a few.. unsavory? people are here, so I wouldn't leave a kid alone here or anything, but overall it's a great park/recreation center. There are tennis courts, basketball, and huge grassy fields. There are also lots of picnic tables/benches, and a large-ish playground for kids. Overall, it's pretty cute, very family oriented, and fairly large. Parking is easy, and they even have an outdoor pool in the summers (I've never visited it though, I have my own pool, mueheheh!). I love taking my dog for walks/runs here, she just loves it. I also like hanging out on a bench and having a little picnic. It's great! ;) I wouldn't give it 5 stars, more like 4.5 or 4.25, but I feel like it's more than a 4. :D read more

Well the short version is its a great couple playgrounds, pool, basketball, open fields, areas for scooters and skateboards. Been familiar with the parks because of young daughter and this one is too notch. Love the tennis courts and the 40-0 place and people that run it. Get an Acai (ah-saw-e) bowl and enjoy while watching the main tennis court. Pro shop that gives it a nice tennis club feel. Lessons and some great pros and players. Love this park! read more

My review is solely for the toddler playground. I happened to park in the lot off of Andover Dr., in the corner by the tennis courts, without knowing the layout of the place. Luckily the toddler playground is situated nearby. I absolutely love that the playground is shaded! I wish mesh coverings were standard on more playgrounds in SoCal. What's the point of having a cool play area if the equipment is scalding hot during the summer months? The play area is padded with sand. There are some concrete benches situated right by the playground. Another big thumbs up is the fact that the toddler playground is a decent distance away from the older kids' playground. It might be a pain for people with kids of different ages in tow; however, I love it because it means my two year old is less likely to want to play on the stuff that's way too big for her with kids that are bigger and more rough. So when people complain about Big Government, do they know about places like McCambridge Park? Holy Hamptons, Batman, this place is dee-luxe. Talk about putting your tax dollars to work. The place should charge admission. Super clean across the board, from the tiny grains of playground sand (there are two separate play areas, one for big kids, the other small, including two teeter-totters), to the baseball fields, tennis, rac and basketball courts. There's even a freaking Thai restaurant... This isn't a park, y'all, it's a family fun center. I'm so, so jealous of Burbank right now. I'm always on the lookout for a good place to play basketball and McCambridge Park never disappoints. Evenings during the week, the very clean, well-lit outdoor courts offer up decent runs with above average players and little drama. But the best time to play is on Sundays in the indoor gym, at 1pm. The games are competitive (no scrubs) but without the arguing and unnecessary profanity usually heard at most playground courts. There's also a sign-up sheet so there's no fighting over who's next, who's after next, etc. Strange as it may seem but it's civilized pick-up streetball - go figure! So, if you're in the 818 and need a place to ball, this is it.
